Daemon X Machina may have been a tad underwhelming to some in its Prototype Demo form, but developer Marvellous has been taking feedback seriously it seems, and every new trailer we see only makes the game look better and better.
That's no exception for this latest trailer either, from Marvellous' official YouTube channel. As it's all in Japanese we're not really sure precisely what's being explained here, but crumbs and blimey are those some pretty colours.
What do you make of this latest trailer? Do you know what the plot of Daemon X Machina actually is? Type away furiously in the comments below telling us how uncultured we are for not being fluent in Japanese.

They had me at the announcement trailer.
I was immediately onboard with this from the first trailer. Then my interest wained a little after playing the demo, but i am fully all in again. I think it looks fantastic.
Still no word on if the frame rate improved...
Yo, September though...
wow THIS LOOKS GOOOOOOD. It’s nice to see some big areas to zip around in and stake your mech claim. I’m really excited for this. Asking for a friend: is this using the same engine as breath of the wild or? Very similar art style. Not complaining at all it’s just you can’t help but notice it.
@getyourak Based on the trailer it doesn't look like this'll be the case.
Any chance of this ever finding its way to PC? This game would be amazing at 120hz/fps.
@VN1X only via an emulator
please be good. please be good.
They need a new Demo.
The videos and screenshots have always looked good since day 1. So no reason to go by them again. Make an updated Demo like Octopath did.
They should release in a better date, not so packed...
Anyhow, it looks better and better in every new video
The demo was horrible to be honest ... big pass for me
An interesting concept that looks poorly executed. The definition of janky.
I want to like this game, but like most mech games, the demo was so empty and lifeless.
I cannot be the only one slightly baffled that a site based around video games by a Japanese company is unable to properly report on news, unless they're already available in English, right?
@Fighter_Hayabusa
Me as well. Though i've never been a mech fan even in the old mechwarrior days.
Too clunky, too many oddball controls, just too much bleh for me.
Am on the fence on this one, thinking of getting Fire emblem and Astral chain with Nintendo vouchers. Maybe getting another vouchers for Pokémon and this one... But, maybe only getting Pokémon.
@peeks I wouldn't count it out. They released the demo to get fan feedback. Sounds like theyve improved it a lot.
@ChromaticDracula Of course not. Both games just use a form of cel-shading in the art. Nintendo uses its own in house engines and no other company has access to these.
@AlexOlney subtitle translate on the vid is your friend
This game will remain on my 'want' list unless reviews tell me it's utter garbage, which is not what I'm expecting. I've seen enough now. It looks good to me.
Looks awesome...and from what I've seen they fixed all the issues. It looks even better than ever. A company that listens and fixes. Good on em'. Day 1 purchase for me.
I found the demo simply unplayable. Kind of hoping for stunning reviews which confirm the technical and design issues have been fixed, but let's face it - this game has a "Mixed" Metacritic score written all over it.
The demo ruined this one for me a bit. Reviews are now what’s going to sway me towards a purchase.
Okay i’m gonna be honest. That demo wasn’t that great. But it seems like the game is starting to improve. I will wait for reviews.
Literally pre ordered this collectors edition and astral chain today.
Can.
Not.
Wait
I know this isn't exactly the best forum for this but this game also suffers from frame rate issues. Does anyone know where I can go to find out when Bloodstained on Switch recieves a performance update? I want that game but after patches
The demo didn't impress me, but it's good they've listened to the feedback. Still not convinced though... Too many games released this fall, so I will probably pass on this one.
The (needed) refinements made to the combat will definitely improve the experience, but it's still limited to being an arena battler. I can't help but think this game would've greatly benefited from an open world and a more exploration-focused design. That's probably just my Xenoblade Chronicles X fanaticism, though.
This looks awesome
This game looks so cool, but I don't know that I'll ever play it.
I still haven't bought Mario Maker 2.
I still haven't bought Yoshi's Crafted World.
I still haven't bought Mario + Rabbids!
It was only a few years ago that I thought having too little time to play all the games on a Nintendo console would never be a problem I'd have to face.
Man, tough crowd. I guess I'm in the minority that actually enjoyed the demo, this will be a definite pick up for me.
Disappointed to see the game still features a zealously cluttered interface, that at the same time is not necessarily easy to read or visually pleasing. The game looks so much more engaging once the trailer switches to interface-less cinematic mode ... as soon as it switches back ... oh boy.
I was really excited for this, but the demo turned me off quite a bit. Aside from the interface, the game ran more than just rough, it had a very loot-grindy feel to it, and the combat always felt off, it just lacked weight. I had hoped for a rebirth of an Armored-Core'esque (the original PSX games) experience, but frankly, after recently replaying AC1 on my Vita ... I don't quite feel it. It's too fast paced and each individual encounter too meaningless, each hit too floaty to really evoke the same kind of sensation as those original AC games did. Real bummer, too ...
Anyways, maybe there'll be another demo and it convince me otherwise, or maybe it'll be on sale some day and I'll feel in the mode for it despite the issues! Astral Chain really kinda stole it's thunder though, to be honest.
The framerate is still an issue it seems.
Hopefully they fix it in time or add a day 1 patch.
Either way there should be another demo in the meantime.
For some reason, every bit of news for this game makes me long for a new pikmin game.
We need a new pikmin game.
I got the orbital edition ready to go ... The demo was ok but it seems to be majorly improved
I need Xenoblade Chronicles X-2 ASAP!
I have absolutely no idea what’s going on, but I’ll probably pick up the limited edition.
