Update (Thu 21st Nov, 2019 11:30 GMT): Alien's Isolation's release date has been confirmed for 5th December 2019.
Original Story (Thu 31st Oct, 2019 16:20 GMT:) Given all of the amazing games we've had this year on Switch, it's easy to forget that the superb Alien: Isolation is still on its way in 2019 – but thankfully, Feral Interactive has released a timely gameplay trailer to remind us all to get very excited.
The trailer – which is all captured on the Switch – also confirms that the Nintendo version will come with all seven DLCs packs released for the game, including a mission where you get to play as Ellen Ripley’s onboard the USCSS Nostromo, reliving the events of the 1979 horror film which kicked off the Alien franchise.
We still don't have a solid release date as yet, but Alien: Isolation will be worth the wait.

Really intense game! Highly recommend playing with headphones.
I remember buying this game and all DLC on my PS4 around 4 years ago for like $14.
So I'm expecting it to be $49.99 on Switch.
Nice that we're getting the better Alien game and not that garbage that was Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Cannot wait for this. I see the whining about potential costs has already started. Jog on if you don't like the (possible) price.
Check those corners.
@DinnerAndWine haha!
I was going to ask if anyone knew if they'd announced the price yet. It's available on Game Pass too right now.
Great game! The best alien game ever! After this, AvP 2 on PC is the next best game. If it will be any sequel, I'm sorry but I will not buy it. I will not stand another time to get so much anxious! One time is enough!
@Lordplops
“I see the whining about potential costs has already started”
Indeed it has. Predictably, and tediously.
Great game. Definitely recommend it for the people who haven't played it yet. The price will be a factor though. Everything over 30 would be a joke.
@DinnerAndWine Yes it's almost as if the people responsible for porting the game and all of its DLC to new hardware deserve compensation.
Feel free to buy it on another platform where the work was already done and the costs recouped already, thereby allowing them to lower the price, though.
Now to hoping it has gyro aiming and they haven't messed it up like Capcom by inverting it.
Cant wait for this one! Been lookning forward to this since the E3 reveal. It looking great on Switch too
Probably 31 December, so it wil technically stil be a 2019 release.
@electrolite77,
Some people on here will never let you down.
No way can I ever play this game again! This game was AMAZING, but never in my life have I been so stressed out while playing a game! One night while playing, my wife texted me from the other room to stop yelling, because I was making her jump!
Alien Isolation is simply the best horror game made! Amnesia, FNAF, Resident Evil, Silent Hill 2, Dead Space are all children's games compared to it, imo.
I've played the PC version. This game isn't very taxing on the GPU, but I must admit that it looks really good on Switch.
Whoever hasn't played this game yet and love horror: check it out. It's a fantastic horror game, even if you never seen the movies like me.
What I do wonder is how it will run on Switch. So far, it's very promising, and I hope it runs much better than the last gen versions.
I cannot wait for this. Feral done a superb job with Grid Autosport so I'm confident Alien Isolation will be no different. Day one!
WANT. Don't care about the price. In the bed, headphones on, lights off...experience.
This is going to be digital only, right?
@RazumikhinPG
For now. I suggest you start spamming Sega on Twitter.
@MadCow74
Prepare clean bed sheets
This game is intense. It is the only game where I literally let out a sigh of relief when I completed it.
@GamingFan4Lyf
Same here. If you haven't already played it, might I suggest Dead Space?
this game is superb !!
@Vriess
Already in the planning!
I forgot this also came out for the 360/PS3. Makes a lot more sense why this actually looks good.
@99x Be interesting to see how it performs on Switch, the PS4 version has (I believe) much improved AI on the 360/PS3 versions.
Too scary for me either way. Couldn’t finish it. 😳
graphics-wise it looks amazingly!
@electrolite77 I think you're right about the AI.
I have this for Xbox and got about half way through before I threw in the towel. I'm not a huge fan of being on edge waiting for a jump scare.
This game is the definition of horror. I'm glad it's coming, just don't think I'm ready for it yet.
These ports definitely need have little lower tag. But amazing seeing ability of some these devs, like sabertooth with Witcher! I mean talk about an amazing port with wizardy beyond more people's skill level. And all on one cartridge with dlc. Amazing
This should be free coz it’s free on Xbox
4K versions of Godfather should also be free coz it’s been on the BBC.
I saw a old cassette version of sgt peppers for 10p other day... stormed into HMV and demanded the remastered CD for the same price.
Can’t believe completely different versions released at different times have different prices

My favourite production design in any game ever, combined with my least favourite type of gameplay. Such mixed feelings for this game.
One of the best games I've ever played. Even though I already bought it on PS4, I'll get it again on Switch if it runs well in handheld.
A very good game (although a bit too long for a survival horror to my taste), but I'd like to point out that the DLC mentioned in the article ("a mission where you get to play as Ellen Ripley’s onboard the USCSS Nostromo, reliving the events of the 1979 horror film") is quite short though.
I still have my nice steel book PS3 launch version from way back. It looked great on PS3, so figure this version should be good, if you only play on Nintendo, and never played the game, would be a good game to try. I did buy it again when I bought a PS4, but didnt complete it again on there as yet. A tense, somewhat frustrating game at times, but overall I thought was great for a single play through.
Excellent game... One of the best horror games in the last decade.
@BarefootBowser The love is because it better captures the feel of the original Alien movie than any of the (mostly poor) sequels.
I honestly forgot this one was coming. The more the merrier, though.
@retro_player_22
Can you believe that a huge portion of that games problems with AI was fixed in the past year due to someone realizing there was a typo in the games code? It still isn't a good game but it is light years better with the fix.
@BarefootBowser
Ridiculous...but you're obviously entitled to your opinion. Has an average Metacritic score of 80 (average of all the different versions on all the consoles and PC) The game was and is very well liked.
Bring on AvP with online multiplayer included.
SEGA dropping the ball by missing Halloween
@nkarafo They continued the story in a comic book.
I loved the start of this game when I had no idea when the alien would appear, later on when the alien would stay in an area until I left and then appear in the next area and hang around, it took the surprise element out and lost it's appeal. Loved the first few hours though.
@DinnerAndWine It will be 59.99 instead because it probably comes with Luigi's outfit and his Poltergust weapon.
A physical copy would've been nice, but I'm excited to finally play this one.
I'll be getting the PSVR version, so unfortunately I can't convince myself to buy the Switch version.
@SteelSunglass
for sure will run fine, it is not a demanding game, close environment not too much people on the screen and when they made the game they started with the old gen and than they ported on the new gen(ps4) , looking to the video i think it based on the last one, beside if the witcher 3 can run on switch anything already on the market can do it
@asmi8803
for sure the first part of the game will not be the same because you know exactly when the alien will appear for the first time and will start to be a present in the game, but after that the game is still fresh , you never know when he will be out again and where he will go because his IA is scripted and have total freedom to roam and has pattern to learn from your move , beside if you did not finished with the last difficult "nightmare" like me this will be the good time to do it, it will be much harder because he will roam faster and in a more aggressive way , will learn faster so your gadget will became less useful faster.
@electrolite77
nope the IA was the same for both old gen and ps4, i read it about at the time (i had the game on ps3) the only difference was the resolution/graphic but not to much
@Vriess Ah yes, Dead Space. I have it in my Steam library and I played a fair amount of it, but never finished it. That too is unsettling, but it never quite reached sweat-inducing levels like Alien Isolation - at least from what I played.
I got out of PC gaming a long time ago, but I do wonder if my current Surface Book can actually run the game. It has an Nvidia GPU, but it's the equivalent of like a 940M or something.
Maybe I should give it a second look sometime soon.
@Amrulez you’re thinking of a completely different game called Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Alien Isolation never had any AI issues with the Alien being able to kill you.
@aresius You’re correct the only difference between the versions was visual the gameplay was the same on all versions.
@EddDeDuck
My response was to the post below.....

Nice that we're getting the better Alien game and not that garbage that was Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Superb, I was just thinking about it last night.
Stunning game but it really chugged on PS3. Irrelevant to me but hopefully Switch version will run smoothly like the PS4 version.
Great game - I would double dip, but I don't know if my heart can handle another play through!
This game is incredible
@fluggy After the amazing work Feral Interactive done with Grid Autosport, which is more like a remaster than a port, I'm confident they'll get this running perfectly.
Any word on a physical version?
@MadCow74 Yeah, I might actually pick it up on the Switch again just for that experience!
@DinnerAndWine
The game will be released via the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch, in all territories that the store currently supports. It is available to pre-order now for £29.99 / $34.99 / €34.99 / ¥4400.
from another site
@Bomberman64 you definitely have it wrong about Silent Hill and Amnesia.
@Friendly
no pishical , only digital , but at least the price is not really full

@OorWullie
it's not a demanding game and the project started on the old gen (ps3/xbox 360) and it was ported on the actual one
@fluggy
i played this on ps3 form the launch day, i did not have any problem with the framerate o what so ever, but for sure will be even better than the old gen
@DinnerAndWine Thats sadly the truth when Bethesda is not publishing it on Switch.
OMG ! Yeeeeesssss ! I've been waiting it for ages !!!!!!!
Christmas gift to me. Just take my money.
Loved it on PC although it was a little too long. Very scary and atmospheric. Worth a punt for those who haven’t played it
Alien Isolation thankfully isnt too expensive $35 is about right
@KBuckley27
my hope , they took all this time to polish the game and make the performance solid and bug/glitch free , they are the same company which made the good GRID port, so it very likely it will be a good port
I'm assuming this game will have a physical release for Switch? If so I'll pick it up day one.
If not I'll stick with my PS4 version.
This game is perfect for portable mode in bed with the lights off and headphones on.
I think this game was in a humble bundle at some point? Checking it out on PS4....and I own it.
@DTfeartheBEARD
only digital confirmed
@Savino
i read it suppose to be available to pre-order today, i checked now and the page is still not on, but maybe later in the day ?
@KBuckley27
perfectly agreed i was thinking the classical 49 £ , instead it will be 29£ here in uk ,
Who necroed this? Hehe
@RushDawg maybe the reason why it didn't make a October release is they are working hard to make sure it runs smooth on Switch because it still struggled to run smooth on the PS4 version i played
Cant wait for this! Was hoping a physical copy would release, but I just gotta be thankful we're getting it at all - from the trailers it looks like Feral has done another great job
@DinnerAndWine Nope. Alien: Isolation is much cheaper than $49.99. Just €34,99 including all 7 DLC, gyroscopic aiming and HD rumble in a nice 17,8 GB package.
So, am I the only one bummed by yet again digital only?
I admit I’m OCD with gaming, but I’m really not trying to stack digital games. I’ve only done it when I’ve had no choice. My RE:Revelations Collection (RE2), Overwatch, and Wolf Youngblood.
@Reigestugatensho Sorry, I corrected that to Silent Hill 2 since I haven't played the first game. It's still scarier than both Amnesia and SH2 in my opinion, though SH2 is sort of in a different genre.
Hopefully. Yup, I remember when I played through this twice on a PS4 Pro. I’d be lying if I told you I didn’t see extremely choppy cutscenes on occasion and also extreme frame rate drops on occasion. An I’m not a picky graphics guy either. @KBuckley27
@VoodooTrumpet USD$35
Eww, so this will be well over $50 CAD then. That is gross for a digital only game...
In guessing there's no physical with this either...
@Cosats
It's $50 Canadian and I paid $14 Canadian for it on PS4.
Grossly overpriced.
The atmosphere of this game was really awesome but the gameplay was very disappointing.
Definitely the scariest VR game period.
$35 for a $10 five year old game I have sitting in my Steam library
Let me think... Nope, easy skip 🙄
@Bomberman64 The first one was definitely scary though. My brother told me about Silent Hill cause I asked who Pyramid Head is. He told me this: "It was so scary he never played it again after encountering a hospital-level".
@Reigestugatensho Well, then I'll have to give Silent Hill 1 a try sometime.
Already preordered and downloading on multiple Switches this very moment.
If being a hybrid version wasn’t enough to sell me on it, the gyro aiming would certainly seal the deal. Behind being hybrid that is my number one priority for a game that has aiming.
And we’re getting a whole swath of highly rated AAA games that will look and run great on Switch, with gyro, all within 5 days of each other.
Alien Isolation (hybrid and with gyro)
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (hybrid and with gyro)
Assassin’s Creed Rogue (hybrid and with gyro)
Call of Juarez (hybrid and with gyro)
And from what I can tell, all of them will be full fat 1080p docked / 720p handheld. I’ll be buying every single one of them digitally, and even a separate physical copy for Black Flag, because who doesn’t want Black Flag on a cartridge. That’s so awesome.
o w o...i cannot wait
I mean if you don't want to play it then don't buy it. The reason it's so cheap on other platforms is because the development and porting to those platforms was done long ago and they've already made back their investment. But they have now spent more money and time to port it to Switch hardware, so they are going to have to make that money back now. Selling it on Switch at the prices on Steam and other consoles would mean a huge loss at this point.
