Communication from Japanese to english will not probably be done nearly as well in the future. I do see Reggie as a strong replacement in directs though. Reggie can make excitement and generate emotion, while Iwata was a more calm presenter.

I can complain all day about the wii u's failure, but the wii and ds were perhaps the most revolutionary gaming devices aside from maybe the game boy. Iwata knew what he was doing.

Iwata's death is symbolic for the death of Nintendo as a hardware manufacturer. He may have failed in recent years, but he brought the most innovative video game ideas ever from the wii to the ds. Rip sir, no matter how mad I may have been at you over this gen, you were vital to revolutionizing entertainment for genernations to come.

TERRIBLE. This was Nintendo's last chance to keep me a fan, but now I think this is the nail in the coffin for my interest in video games. Starfox looks decent, but nothing else was impressive even slightly. Starfox will probably be the last game I ever buy aside from possible smash bros games of future generations.

@Einherjar Yeah it's a bit hyperbolic, but club nintendo was the difference between about 100 eshop titles I wouldn't have bought otherwise in addition to the dozen or so retail games I wouldn't have bought new. I think it's a very dumb decision, but it's not going to tragically hurt nintendo. It will put a minor dent in their company though due to a lack of differentiation and will hurt their physical sales a fair bit. I agree though and rescind my point about the digital sales going down though. I'm probably one of the few exceptions rather than the rule.

Echoing on what @Einherjar said, I'm very concerned about digital purchases too. I definitely will never buy another digital product regardless of the loyalty reward.
I'm not giving up hope on this yet since we don't know for sure what the new program will be, but there certainly will never be anything as worthwhile as cn

This is really good news for gamestop, really dumb decision for Nintendo. Gamestop will benefit greatly as they will be able to sell used games at their slightly discounted used products now to many more customers.

And just like that I feel the need to no longer ever purchase another digital title unless it's a must-buy and will never buy another new nintendo product again with the exception of pre-order bonuses.

I said very dissapointed on the last one simply because they are doing terribly with their inventory levels. It's really embarrassing that they didn't prepare better. Other than that, they're great.

There's always so much bias for the most recent entries in the series, I hate when people just pick the most current one.

I never uderstood why they didn't create AR cards as well as amiibos featuring characters and assist trophies. They'd be much cheaper than amiibo and they could sell them easier in stores next to pokemon and sports cards. It's so obvious.

That is embarrassing, I haven't seen the movie, but assume it's meh, and games are always much worse than the movies they come from.

I've been saying this for years, it's such an obvious business decision, and the only way Nintendo handhelds will exist in 10 years from now.

Obviously they did terrible sales-wise. Nobody had a really good Wii U deal and in fact, most places didn't have any wii u sales at all. Why would you go out on black friday and buy something that isn't on sale?

I give it an 8/10 for an opening. Not melee, but far superior to brawl's opening and about on par with the ssb64's opening.
