I was actually expecting a end-of-August release, but as long as it's released before September 21st, they kept their promise.

This is the last game in the foreseeable future that is a surefire system seller for wii u. If this flops, they won't break 20 million ever.

If it's free, I'll take it. Will it come with club nintendo coins?

@UnseatingKDawg I was referring to the games listed. There's tons of good series out there that aren't on the list, but rehashes and brogames are the only things that sell anymore. Closest to hardcore/awesome game series that sell well would be Zelda, and Zelda only sells well because of its brand name, not its quality (despite the quality being so good). I guess Smash bros. kinda fits hardcore and sells well too, but like I said, mostly only rehashes and shoot-em-ups sell.

Everything else is awful.

On topic: I definitely think that the figures are a good way to connect the QoL and gaming consoles. Having 1 figure would be a cool way to store your progress rather than an sd card or usb drive.

I want Ness, Lucas, Pit, Link, Red, and Olimar.
If they make figures for all smash bros. characters, I will certainly buy at least several if not more.

Still hoping for a limited edition smash bros 3ds xl.

I'm glad they have something in the works. It's nice knowing they learned their lesson with the pii u. Next console will probably be the nintendo we all know and love...and one that actually makes and doesn't lose money.

@JaxonH fair point, though. I just feel bad for those who waited 30 minutes to see 10 seconds of footage. I've just gotten used to the fact that the only worthwhile reveals by nintendo are directs, and not even all directs are that good. I agree that it's better to just catch the highlights of things like this, though. I'm glad I didn't waste 30 minutes.

I think it's safe to say anyone who defends nintendo on this one are the most literal definition of nintendrone. That said, I am still psyched for this game.

At least I'll have something this weekend to look forward to.

Good. I didn't see this as a problem when trying out a wii u, but improving the game pad was something that needs to be done so it's easier to work with for third party and indie developers.

I think it's safe to say nintendo may have to go third party if they had a 4th straight year of losses. I doubt that they'll have a net loss this year though because they at least have established their consoles now and the wii u is selling at a profit now too.

Finally. They better bring back ribbons, and lots of em. My gallade has 50+ ribbons and I want him to break 100.
I can't believe I've had my Gallade since RS, now I can play with him on the remake of the original game I caught him on.

I don't think anyone's arguing that YOU shouldn't have a wii u. If you love nintendo regardless of quality, you'll buy one. If you think they're going to sell a ton of units, you're crazy. I'm hoping for nintendo just to break even at this point. I kind of agree with the head buried in the sand in the sense that there are always people here who protect nintendo. If you love nintendo, you'll be worried for them because their bottom line is hurting because the wii u is failing, regardless of how good or bad you think it is. Nintendo doesn't revolve around the few million who will always buy their products, it's the general gaming population in addition to the casual/family audience. I care about nintendo, so I will admit they are doing something wrong.

I'll purchase one if it drops to $250 and SSB4 is good. $300 is obviously too much. The market has spoken.

This is the greatest gameboy skin ever. Someone put in a serious effort and every part is filled with creativity.

No more lego games please. I will admit the MOVIE looks decent, but anything lego in a game for me is an insta-no. Obviously this game is no exception.

I was hoping for a new model for 3ds like a lighter version of it with better internet, but alas I guess I must wait for another year or 2.
They obviously weren't going to make a successor console to the 3ds (or wii u) though. That would have been the dumbest idea possible, so it's good that they're committed to fixing their mistakes before moving on to the next console.

@zool I would say originally it was, but they've made it work very well in enough games so it's no longer a gimmick.

I want them to keep physical media as an option. Not every game needs to have a physical option, but games like Zelda, Smash, Mario, and Pokemon should have the option of either digital or physical. I'd really like to see multiple game slots like the ds and ds lite.

Also, as someone said earlier in the comments, the 2ds wasn't an admission of failure, it was a way to make the 3ds cheaper for the pokemon crowd. Of course 3d won't be the highlight of future systems, but I expect them to keep 3d in succeeding consoles.

@MAB count me in if that's the case lol. I'd definitely get it since my 3ds is over 3 years old now and I want Smash on a fresh handheld.
