Re: Nintendo's Share Price Sees Dramatic Rise After Pokémon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee Reveals

@thesilverbrick I keep hearing that wild Pokemon battles are out, but I don't see why people think this. Is it because all you see is people catching wild Pokemon and not battling them. I still see tall grass as well as Pokemon running along the tall grass. I'm guessing they are only showing the portion of wild battles when you choose your ball and throw it in hopes of catching a wild monster. I'm not too certain about the other deeper systems but I don't see Gamefreak abandoning those, specially since they don't disturb gameplay and have existed alongside the core game without a need to use them. A lot of folks still consider Pokemon for kids and casuals as it stands now, even with all those deep systems you love.

@thesilverbrick
I honestly don't see what you are complaining about. This is basically blue and red in HD(well yellow to be precise). This is the main RPG series but with a very limited roster. Although 151 Pokemon did not seem limited when Pokemon were first introduced. The catching motion is a bit funky but I'm sure you can use a button press too. The battles I think could look a bit flashier but it's perfectly fine as is. What exactly is it that you find so off putting about going back to Khanto? Personally I'm going with Evee, it would make taking out Brock in the beginning a little more challenging. I wonder if moves will have the old attributes from red and blue or will they be closer to sun and moon?

Dude Dom Reseigh-Lincoln do you ever proof read any of your stuff?Every one there is some form of error on your articles. Generally I don't care but aren't you like the big boss? It doesn't set a good example when most of your articles seem to have mistakes easily remedied with one little read through. I'm sure you meant "on the cards", rather than "on the cars". I know it's small but it's everyday and mostly on just the stuff you put out. Show some pride in your work. Sorry for being so judgemental but I've been thinking this since you got your position. Have a good one.

@faint I think they learned from the Wii u about capacitive screens. They got a lot of crap because the Wii U didn't have one. It did do just about anything else you could think of but developers just couldn't figure out what to do with all those gadgets and gizmos on it. It's sad really there was still a lot of good games that should have taken advantage of the Wii us capabilities. I've been gaming on Nintendo since I was 4.5 and couldn't even hook up my own system. Now at nearly 33 I've passed my love of all things Nintendo onto my three kids, with varying levels of results,lol. I think Nintendo found a way to recycle all of those old Wii U HD for the switch and choose to have a less impressive chip set in order to save some cash. No one was guaranteeing their consoles success and I'm sure even though they went all out with the switch some things were done to make it affordable yet still awesome.

@faint logistics is not something I'm well versed on but I've been gaming on Nintendo since the first NES. I've been reading about Nintendo since I could read. I know the old guard, the guy Iwata replaced had the idea of using old technology to lower production cost at the forefront of their business models. The one time Nintendo went all out on Graphics was the cube. Which yielded luke warm results, as far as sales went. So yes Nintendo cheaps out. All the logistics of getting these things to work the way they do is soaked up by the research and development branch at Nintendo. Just look at the Wii. Besides having the graphical capacity of two GameCubes we got no DVD player....because it would cost more...same on the Wii U. Nintendo are cheap bastards....genuis cheap bastards, but cheap anyways. At the end of the day making money is their priority and sadly sometimes cheaping out is the only way to get that bottom line numbers they want. Being a Nintendo gamer for nearly 30 years now I've made peace with those facts. It doesn't mean that it doesn't bum me out that they continue to do it.

@electrolite77 the only reason the switch has sub par graphics is because Nintendo cheaped out.....again. There is no reason other then money why we got an old chipset when a newer version was already ready. This was the successor to the Wii U, not the 3ds. So yes it's a home console, regardless of portability. As soon as I found out that we were getting an outdated chip set I knew we weren't getting too many current gen ports. Luckily I've been proven wrong on more than a few occasions now. I'll take slightly less visually appealing ports as long as they aren't broken as is the case here. The switch is by all means a portable that Nintendo wants to sell as a home console. There is no reason why we should lower our expectations because Nintendo cheaped out again. We want home console experiences on this home console called a switch.

I'm not sure about this particular game, but most of the neo geo beat em ups were everywhere. Maybe you don't remember the arcades which would have four games. Usually a fighter, sports game, beat em up and something else. I loved those things, but as a kid I lost more quarters by pressing the start button instead of the one used to cycle through the four games. Oh the frustration. Then again it allowed me to play some games I wouldn't have otherwise.

@sillygostly
I don't know how old you are sir but I've always seen achievements as a way of just proof of beating a game or accomplishing certain,difficult task. When I was a kid there was very few ways of proving your gaming achievements to your friends. So you beat Mike Tyson in punchout ey? A picture or it didn't happen. That's only one example. I honestly think achievements were better thought out in the 360/ps3 era. They were usually locked behind progress in the game or doing something really difficult. Like say beating all levels on the most difficult setting. Now they are really easy to.....achieve. Some are as simple as going to the options in game. So I guess I agree with you when it comes to achievements in current gen machines. But I think in their original inception they were pretty cool and a fun little way of extending the life of a game.
