Re: Nvidia's Shield Range Lives On In 2017, Despite The Impending Arrival Of Nintendo Switch

whanvee

This kinda proves some of those rumors right. If Nvidia is still making these things their way, it could very well be that this is were their new chips went. Nintendo probably convinced them to heavily modify the x1 and in this new shield lies the x2.

I must say it's a little messed up to do that(reveal the new shield). Specially when the switch isn't even out yet but maybe Nvidia is double thinking just how popular the switch will be.

Re: Eurogamer Report Suggests Nintendo Switch GPU Runs 60 Percent Slower When Undocked

I don't know too much about the tech talk but these guys make it seem as if it will be really weak. I know it doesn't make sense for companies to talk down a partner that would , hopefully, be lucrative. This report though seems to be calling all these "excited" third parties full of it. With new games coming out needing power which the switch apparently lacks, why be excited? Unless that is excitement for releasing crappy ports of 360/ps3 ports. That pretty much dooms third party support.

Personally I don't care how good a game was I'm not paying sixty bucks for any game that is no longer that price on another console. If third parties bring out all those old games at 20 bucks a pop they will do well. I just really hope they don't expect us to buy old games at new prices. Like I said I'm not big on the technological language used here, so I'm not sure just how bad this is. Honestly though knowing Nintendo I wouldn't be surprised if we are getting a really undempowered system. "Now you're playing with power".....yeah underpowered, power. Oh well....

Re: The Nintendo Switch Power Debate is Back - Report Suggests It Won't Quite Match PS4

@JLPick
I entirely agree. I've given this some thought in the last years and you are correct. I think most Wii games look crappy because they are meant to be played on old school CRT TV. If played on said TVs they don't look too bad, once brought to HDTVs they look horrendous. I tried playing twilight princess on the Wii u before the HD version and it was pretty horrendous. So much so that I really couldn't play it. I remember thinking how gorgeous it was way back when. As far as games being rushed, I think this could be the first time Nintendo can be found guilty of this.

@JaxonH
I didn't even know there was 100 games on the Wii U. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Seriously though we got close to zero multiplatform games on wii u. Most that we got were close to launch, and they were pretty lacking ports. I know during the wii, we got lots of M rated games. Most weren't bought at all.

Re: THQ Nordic Is Currently Working On Two Nintendo Switch Titles

I really dislike the perception of "Nintendo audience". If the higher ups think this is what we like, we can kiss third parties goodbye. Why? You may ask. Simple, we won't buy enough of these games to warrant them making anymore games. I'm not beyond playing ANY game if it's good. Sadly Mario constantly outshines any and all platformers, making other cartoony platformers almost irrelevant.I'm purely talking about platformers released on a Nintendo console. Not to mention plenty of the Nintendo crowd want something more than E-rated games. So if all we get is this we will not buy enough leading to no mas third party support. I've bought most games worth my money regardless of publisher or rating, but if we as a "Nintendo audience" can't change the perception of "us" only buying kiddie games we are in for a bad ride......again.

Re: Video: Nintendo Shows Off New Area in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

@KiWiiU_Freek I agree with you. Way back when people thought of slowdown as proof that the game they were playing was pushing the hardware they were playing it on. When did we become this jaded? I'm not saying it's ok, but at this point I don't think there is much to be done about it. I think they are going to release on wii u because they really, really have to, problems be damned. If the switch version is the same, then it's time for concern. They bit off more them they could chew on the wii u, but we've known that since the first delay.

There is a chance they might release texture packs like on xenoblade to alleviate such problems.

Re: Reggie Confirmed For On-Stage Appearance At The Game Awards 2016

whanvee

There is a chance he could just be accepting an award. Who knows. Personally I'm tired of his crap. He's lied to our faces on a bunch of occasions. Not to mention he was the president of NOA while the wii u floundered. I'm sure he had to have had the power to bring in more advertising for the system from the get go, yet he did nothing. I don't hate the guy but we really need a new face for NOA.

Re: EA Reconfirms That A "Major Game" Is In Development For Nintendo Switch

whanvee

@ollyander I don't want a six month old stale port. If EA has any success on the switch they would do well to start releasing games on the same day as other consoles. They can't expect good sale numbers of games that have been out elsewhere for 6 plus months. It's just dumb business. Obviously some of us that only own Nintendo hardware will pick it up. But like the wii U proved there isnt enough of us. They need to have an option for the switch version on day one. And Nintendo needs standard voice chat on their online games or those switch online multiplat games will get no love.

Re: Rumour: Super Mario And Rabbids Crossover In Development For Nintendo Switch

whanvee

I honestly hope this isn't ubis big gun. It won't attract many specially if it's not that great. I don't see too many adults being comfortable enough to play this on the go. Specially with all the annoying noises they make. If this is prepare for underwhelming sales and ubi abandoning the switch due to these sales.

I can see what they are doing. They are switching,sorry, their strategy. Last time they tried an adult game at launch (Zombi U). This time they're trying a kid friendly approach. Hope the quality is there, I will support it if it is.

Re: Project CARS Isn't Planned to Appear on the Nintendo Switch

whanvee

I think this game is too old to be relevant and beneficial for the switch. I think we need third party games that are either new releases or no older than a few weeks. We don't want the same situation as the wii u. Where we were getting year old ports at full price when they were already 20 bucks or cheaper on other systems. It just won't help the switchs appeal, except to us who are already buying it. I really don't see too many people waiting skipping a release for the Xbox or ps4 in order to play it on the switch.
