Oooooh right in the feels. Seriously though if it's not coming why tease us. I know the wii u is dead but we're starving over here. Anything decently good will do. Oh well.
@gcunit not trying to be a smart Alec but I don't see what you're talking about. Sorry. I'm being serious, I'd like to know to avoid doing it. I'm extra careful on my wording in this site.
@khaosklub You have a point on the price difference. Yet when people are spending that money on a phone I doubt the games available are their priorities. Unlike us when we purchase a game system.
Besides we can't agree as you think all games are overpriced already. So no further questions your honor.
With that statement I'm sure we are getting a sports game from 2014 and some racing game from said year. This guy said just a game or two. That shows that they are "backing" the switch but not really investing much in there. Oh well.
It always starts like this. I remember articles like this one started coming out a few weeks or months prior to the wii u launch. It was the beginning of the end for third party support on said system. That was waaaaaaaaaay before it even came out. With Capcom "reviewing what might work" and this guy being doubtful of its prospect I'm starting to worry.
@khaosklub Those prices are under selling the crap out of Mario. Mario is nintendo for most of the people that aren't big into games. Casual players drop way more than ten bucks in micro transactions in games. We as gamers know the value of a Mario game, that's why can't find a used version on almost any system for under 30 or 40, unless it's on a best seller line of games.
Honestly though answer me this if this game was actually a good Mario game and only sold for two bucks wouldn't you feel ripped off when purchasing any Mario game on consoles?
At first I thought hell no. Once reading the reason it might not be quite that much of a stretch. Quite honestly that would be a bad start for the switch. As that game alone was gonna move a bunch of units. After launch people might have found a lot of things not to like about the system. That means that not even Zelda will move units. It has to be at launch, just has to be.
Never mind spend their time watching this nonsense, some people give them money. That's just beyond me. I understand, don't condone, but understand the adult entertai ment streamers getting money thrown at them. But I really can't wrap my mind around actual people donating to any of these guys. I understand when they stream it for a good cause but it's not always the case.
@rjejr I think he meant the continuation of an Nvidia chip in future hardware. As he mentioned nintendo tends to stick with a certain architecture for a bit. I think it isn't too farfetched to imagine another console team up between them. Specially if the switch blows up big.
They're damned if they do and they're damned if they don't. Look on the shelves of stores that still carries amiibo, packed to the brim. It started with the animal crossing ones. Now all of them just chill there. The same will haplenty with this product. Though to be fair Nintendo should have known since they got a very positive reaction from everyone on the minu when announced. Amiibo had a slightly warmer reception when announced.
What if retro were working on a eternal darkNess sequel? That might bring an audience over.
As far as Capcom goes these are just excuses. The point of the switch,in my opinion, is to have a home console experience anywhere. Besides differing power levels I don't see how the switch has different goals or whatever they called it.
@SniffitisWhiffit Random Accessible Memory. Not to tech savvy but from what I know it's memory that can be used at any time for a plethora of uses. From graphics to running the os.
@khaosklub
Family man, I can't afford to keep up with pc specs. We can all agree gaming is a pretty expensive hobby. So I always hope my choice in console gets me most of the games I want to play. Not counting system exclusives and first party titles. The wii u seemed to be poised to get me all the gaming goodness I wanted. Sadly as soon as it came out all the third parties started dropping support. It was a combination of an archaic system as opposed to other consoles and lack of power.if I remember correctly.
@Dirty0814 Nintendo is in a weird place. If they don't put all the features that current generation consoles have at the moment, they will be considered behind the times on arrival. If they do, it will lock away RAM which could be used for games. Not to mention that they could get implemented and then not really used as was the case with Wii U. Not saying wii u had all the stuff current generation has but it had a fairly decent bit of things to do with it in the beginning, we all know how well that worked out. We can just hope the switch attracts enough customers to make it worth developing for, for third parties.
@faint Nintendo plans to profit from each sale. So either underpowered or expensive. As far as the RAM goes no one, and I do mean no one knows what the OS is like. For all that we know it could could use a gig of RAM or two. So I'm guessing neither of us really know what we are talking about considering how little we know. Honestly I'm just tired of my Nintendo console being underpowered and then shunned by third party developers due to it. Considering its usually the first console of any gen I buy. After that I always end up buying something else because of all the games that skip the system I first bought.
That's just not enough, if true. Honestly it sounds right as cheap as Nintendo can be. If this is true we can definitely expect a very underpowered console. More so than expected. I really hope this and myself are wrong.
Will either be cheap and underpowered or quite pricey. Nintendo don't want to sell at a loss. Those are the two options, plain and simple. Don't forsee any games being bundled either.
Yeah but all you wii u owners can go eat wood. That's quite sad honestly. I always felt Nintendo was really loyal to their fans. They didn't always listen but you never felt screwed when you bought a system. I wonder if things changed drastically after Iwata's passing. It's starting to seem so.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE It's possible, but they would have to put up a bunch of games for the wii u. I don't see that happening. It's obvious Nintendo has given up on that system. I'd go as far as saying that the last two years of titles for the wii u got switched over to the nx for launch and first year.
I don't know if I believe the early october unveiling . But I donly believe it's a little late. We should have demos sitting in stores for Christmas. Just to get the public in the loop. And again it's just a guess. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if we hear nothing about it for the rest of the year.
This genuinely saddens me. Not because of Mario on ios, just because there is other things they should be announcing.Not to mention their entire lack of announcements for all of us wii u owners.oh well hope it serves them well
@The_Dude_Abides Yup scrap something that's costed them a crap ton of money in order to produce games to an audience that has a history of disliking their so called "kiddie" games. Not to mention that would be a big risk and probably quite pricey as well. Your logic is totally sound. I'm not saying the nx won't flop, who knows. But go third party specially now? That's quite foolish.
This late in the game,assuming it's still a March release, anything will do. Nintendo is being way too guarded. This day and age all you need is a big splash. Social media takes care of the rest. The thing is at this point in time no one really cares much for Nintendo other than us the faithful customer base. If their announcement doesn't go viral and gets the whole world excited they will have another rough launch.
@Gerbwmu
Unless it's a three minutes directly there isn't much to cover for the Wii u . Unless of course they can show us how they really feel and show Miyamoto going all Gallagher on the rest of their Wii u stock. That would be awesome.
What is there to be excited about? My Wii u is all but dead. Not even a mention of it. It's sad how we've been left to buy indie games for the last year plus and still no sign of anything good coming out.
Oh goodie, because that's what everyone has been asking Nintendo to announce.
Hey Nintendo you guys have six months to get everyone excited for your new system. Maybe you should focus on that. No one is going to steal your ideas if you show them early. As far as the industry goes your "innovations" caused your crushing failure this gen.Most regular people dont like to emulate failure. Worry about people stealing your crap once it's already huge. First worry about making it huge. We are not enough people to keep you successful Nintendo. You've got to get everyone hyped as well.
How is Nintendo not suing these guys. Every console sold could be said to eat up sales of their current console. Just based on virtual console sales. Not even mentioning it's ridiculous price tag. I'm all for collecting old school stuff but this console is just a cash grab. Worst of all a ton of people want it. Freaking first world problems huh?
@hYdeks I'm starting to feel the same way. The only way to sell this in large numbers would be to cram it down the world's throat through a lot of advertising. It's been proven that the loyal fan base of Nintendo just isn't enough to make a console successful. If they can get all the billions of people in the world excited over the NX Nintendo will be fine. If indeed this console is as underpowered as the T1 would make it they need the casual audience.
