Re: Nintendo Outlines Switch Booth and Plans for PAX South

@gcunit
And they most likely won't. I want to know what they've been working on all this time. Zelda didn't make it in the wii u's lifetime. What else have they been up to these last two years. I can't imagine 1,2 switch took more than a few months to develop. ARMS doesn't seem all that complicated either. So what the heck nintendo? What happened to that learned lesson? I figured we would have gotten at least 7 or 8 games from them, but it wasn't meant to be.

Re: Gearbox CEO Doesn't See Borderlands 3 Coming To Nintendo Switch

@KirbyTheVampire
The build up to the launch started this way. That's mostly what I meant. A bunch of third parties started complaining about the system and withdrawing their support leading up to launch. I remember being pretty bummed about the whole situation. Especially after the wii u was praised by so many on that now infamous video.

Honestly I'm just glad they aren't blaming the power of or the difficulty to develop for the system.

Re: Gearbox CEO Doesn't See Borderlands 3 Coming To Nintendo Switch

whanvee

Yup wii u all over again. I was so hopefully that we would get all these third party announcements at the reveal. We got close to nothing. There is like five billion fps being made at the moment. Nintendo couldn't attract one,not one, to the switch. How crazy is that? I'm not looking for these games on my nintendo console,would be nice though. The thing I am looking at though is how the switch could possibly be perceived as having great third party support when none of these games are coming our way. Well at least he didn't say the switch couldn't handle it.

Re: Nintendo's History With Playing Cards Directly Influenced The Switch

whanvee

Too bad no one will really buy this and make it popular. I'm sorry nintendo but this had to be packed it. Heck even a limited version should have been packed in. If they really wanted to showcase the system's capabilities all they had to do was pack this game in with it. Say your just a regular non video game playing guy. You're intrigued by the switch and this game. So you go check it out. 300 bucks? Alright a little pricey, but ok. What 50 or 60 for the game. Hmmm no thanks.

Re: Investors React Negatively to Nintendo Switch Launch Details

@Nintendian
All I keep thinking is what have they been up to?. For almost two years now we've gotten very few wii u games, well for most of its life, but especially the last couple years. I expected to be blown away by the amount of games on show. Thinking to myself that they stopped producing games for wii u in order to make games for the switch. Now what did we get for launch? Nothing, 3 games, one which has been in development for a while and two which no one asked for. They needed to make 1 2 switch a pack in if they wanted it to sell. As minimalistic as that game is it shouldn't have been too expensive to make it a pack in tittle.

Re: Soapbox: The Switch Presentation Was Good, but Not Perfect

whanvee

I think the presentation was a perfect example of how these stage reveals have grown old and stale. Directs are perfect because they can shoot as many takes as needed. If you come off wooden and terrible you can do it again(some still come off that way regardless). I've been cringing at all games companies E3 presentation for a few years now. Grown men discussing video games and showing,not so sincere at times, enthusiasm is a hard sell. The presentations nintendo were doing were working out fine. On top of that they are leading with two games nobody asked for or wanted Ala nintendoland, that won't end well. Third party support was darn near nonexistent. We didn't even see one M rated shooter, not one. Considering that's what is over saturating the market at this moment it should give us a clue about the third party support available. I just can't be excited about Nintendo still trying to reach the masses. That ship sailed a while ago. It was time to draw all of us gamers in, not just us fan boys either. It was time to say,"we will get all the games from all third parties" not " here are all the games you can only get here". I think if five MAJOR third party games would have been shown we'd be ready to see all the switch exclusives. Where were the games at? What are we getting like five games for launch?

Then there is the storage 32gb? Are you freaking kidding me? This pretty much guarantees to me that the specs will be equally unimpressive. Nintendo once again put money where it really shouldn't have(joy cons). These things can't be too cheap as they have a crap ton of technology in them. Why not make standard controls and throw a few bucks more at your specs.

I really hope the specs are up to par. I just can't imagine having a wii u 1.5 in regards to power. The one and ps4 have been out for nearly 4 years now. The switch should be able to mop the floor with their specs and do it on the cheap. I'm afraid that unless this catches on like the wii did, we're pretty much screwed.I'm gonna call it now. If by summer you don't have folks out playing this thing in the parks and everywhere else people gather this system will go the way of the wii u.😯

Re: Prepare To Be Blown Away By Nintendo Switch, Says Nvidia CEO

whanvee

The whole safe for young people and children thing is worrying. That's why we've had such crappy online. Nintendo worried about kiddiesin cyberspace. If the online ecosystem is similar to the Wii u, we are pretty much screwed. I can't stand not being able to talk smack on Mario kart or smash. I see no point in playing online that way. Might as well be playing against bots. I'm just hopeful that nintendo knows kids have pretty much unlimited access to the Web these days from many different places. It's time they let parents do their job and worry more about pleasing their older audiences need for a better online ecosystem.

Re: Persona 5 Will Not Be Coming to the Switch

whanvee

@JaxonH
I was referring more to the fact that close to launch (wiiu)a lot of third parties started naming all the games that wouldn't come to the Wii u. Just giving me a bit of dejavu.

As far as third party support we have been missing it since the 64. But you know most of those games we missed out on ended up becoming exclusives to Playstation for the following years.
Oh well, we shall see.

Re: Persona 5 Will Not Be Coming to the Switch

whanvee

Don't mean to be pessimistic but this is starting to be like the Wii U launch. This game and that game, oh and that one too, you guys want them? Well you can't have them.

I'm only hopeful because these are exclusivesome. Andromeda on the other hand is multiplatform. Every multiplatform game that skips the switch makes me cringe a little.

At least they are not blaming it on the power of the system this time around.

Re: Poll: Are You Optimistic for Nintendo's 2017?

whanvee

I said after the Wii U no more launch purchases. I thought we would be playing Zelda by now though... so yeah. If the switch can reveal a good launch lineup I might get it still. I'm really only waiting to see what really dumb thing nintendo does this time. It just seems that they cant ever make just an all around good system. Something is always lacking. I'm just waiting to see what it will be this time.

Re: Feature: Hopes and Dreams for Nintendo's 2017

whanvee

I just want to feel like I'm playing a modern system. Not some archaic first attempt at one. The Wii u was way behind the curve on launch, it's a bit better now but not ideal. All I need is Nintendo to get their ducks in a row and make this a great system for developers to work on. Great games will certainly come to the system, but if it's not worth the developers time all those games will be made by nintendo.
