The latest UK boxed charts are finally here after a short delay, revealing that FIFA 23 has managed to maintain its chokehold on the gaming industry as it arrives in the number one spot once again.
For Nintendo titles, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe continues to show its popularity, climbing the ladder to number two in its 286th week in the charts. This comes as a product of a slight fall for Splatoon 3, which this week has slipped into fourth place - not that this belittles its meteoric opening by any means.
Aside from the usual suspects of Nintendo Switch Sports, Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Animal Crossing: New Horizons, this week also contains the surprise reappearance of the LEGO Harry Potter Collection, emerging from a puff of smoke at number six.
With no sales or notable price drops to speak of, we assume that this comes following the sad passing of Robbie Coltrane last week, best known for his role as Hagrid in the series. The news must have brought back memories of the franchise for many fans, as the game reemerges in the charts with 86% of sales going to the Switch (Xbox One accounts for 7% while Playstation 4 takes home 6%).
With all the news out of the way, here's your look at the top ten for this week:

I would like to see Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart back to Top 10.
Paw Patrol Grand Prix needs more love.
It still a good racing game by Outright Games.
Nice seeing MK8 Deluxe continue to be so high for so long, hopefully wave 3 news is soon.
Splatoon needs new content. We're creeping close to two months since launch, and we haven't gotten any new stages or additional gear/weapons.
I've been playing almost nightly for half an hour or so, but I'm starting to burn out playing the same content over and over...
@Anti-Matter it’s okay to like Paw Patrol Racing Grand Prix but it’s a decent racing game competing with Mario kart 8 deluxe. There is no reason to pick it up over Mario Kart 8. Mario kart 8 is just a better game with near infinite replay value if you have it there’s no rest to get another inferior racing game.
Rift apart sold 1.1 million copies great for a low status playstation franchise on a console few people can get their hands on. As more people Get Ps5’s the sales will go up but don’t expect it to get back on top
@Anti-Matter There's little to no chance of shovel ware making its way back up the charts once it's left. Or Paw-Patrol for that matter. XD
@Dr_Lugae
I don't think Paw Patrol Grand Prix was bad.
I saw the gameplay was good enough from YouTube video.
I still like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe but I think I want some variation from 3rd party games to mix up my gaming experience.
i expected them to release/announce some splatoon updates by now. the base game is still addictingly fun but im getting tired of the same repeated maps and shop items, especially knowing how easy it'd be to just give us new maps and weapons already
Still playing MK and Splatoon 3
But just picked up Sparks of Hope for £42.99 physical so on that now. So far really good game.
I got Lego Harry Potter for my Switch. Played it exactly once. Haven't touched it since. I legitimately forget I own it. I'll occasionally think of it and be like, "Oh yeah, I need to go back and play that game." But there's always just too many other games I'm more interested in.
why is lego harry potter there
@Browny @boxyguy They appear to be timing big updates around seasons so the next big update will likely be on or slightly before December 1st (Season 2 begins on that day). Before then appears to be only a balance patch, the Pokemon Splatfest and maybe Big Run.
Balls and wheels. That's all they care about over there.
@Browny We’re guaranteed to get new stuff on 1st of December as that’s when the catalog resets so new gear is a given, but hopefully we get some more maps/weapons for multiplayer and salmon run before then.
I’m predicting the future here..
(Year 2045)
‘Mario Kart: 9 has been number one for the past 30 weeks straight!’
@Browny I'm waiting for me Splatoon 3 stages too. There's way too little stages available, especially when you consider some have been taken from previous games.
Splatoon 3 needs a new content boost.. Great game but 2 to 3 more stages added into the mix would help..
@sneaky_sasquatch It's the 25th anniversary of the first book.
I agree Splatoon 3 needs some fresh content and some more improvements to the online stability. I love the game and play it most days(while also playing through majora's mask), but it did not take this long for new content with 1 or 2.
lego harry potter in 6th wow. How did that happen
@Not_Soos Same for me bought it, beat it, forgot about it.
Recently finished the Single Player in Splatoon 3 100% with all weapons only to discover you get absolutely nothing for it at all 🤣
I find Motion Controls are your best bet as they make it a lot easier. Just keep calm steady your aim and away you go.
@boxyguy Ditto.
LEGO Harry Potter....am I reading that right??🤨🤔
Its really crazy how well mario kart is still doing and i am even more amazed with the graphics while the game is that old. (Still play it every week)
@Grumblevolcano I expect we’ll hear more late November/December. I expect it will release around the festive season, especially with merry mountain being a holiday themes course
@chiefeagle02 oh, okay, thanks
