Re: Star Fox Zero Launching April 22nd on Wii U

veeflames

Yeah, pretty happy with what was said about the game! No online multiplayer, though... and the amiibo functionality? eh. I have the original game if I wanted to play with the SNES arwing.
OK, maybe because I don't have a Fox amiibo...

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD (Wii U)

veeflames

@JaxonH Once again, you make so much sense. Thank you.
I'll even go as far and say there is no need to flail your arms around in the air when playing Skyward Sword (well, most of the time). Just use your wrists properly and you'll be fine. It's just like Splatoon's motion controls; there is no freakin' need to move your whole arms around. It's all in the wrist.
Simply put, if you're playing Wii games (even Wii Sports) and flailing your arms around, you're probably doing it wrong.

@ThomasBW84 Nice review. I do have a question to ask, though...
"In terms of visuals, the 1080p and 30fps lock are both excellent, though it's a pity the Wii U doesn't have enough grunt to achieve 60 frames."
Where did you get this information from? Not that I'm doubting you, it's just that I thought the reason why this game isn't at 60fps was because of one of two things (maybe both): the fact that the game's physics would be changed if the frame rate went up to 60fps, and, quite frankly, laziness (see Wind Waker HD).

Re: Ubisoft Discounts Galore in 2-Week North American eShop Sale

Awesome deals. I will certainly get Child of Light....
And maybe Rayman Legends. I think I'll get Blacklist and AC later...
@JaxonH is Blacklist anything like Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars (amazing game if you haven't played it already)? If so, maybe I'll shove Rayman Legends down for later (already have it on PC, so..)

Re: Poll: Vote for Your Favourite Main Series Pokémon Games - 20th Anniversary Edition

veeflames

Good Lord, very tough poll!
I have so many favorite Pokemon games I don't know which one to pick! FireRed, Diamond, Heartgold, Black, Black 2, X... Which one do I pick?!
I will say that Diamond was the only DS game I played for a pretty long while (scratch that, dominated a significant part of my childhood), so I guess I need to vote for two more games. FireRed I also played a lot, but that's the case for Black, too.
Gah. Hard choices, indeed.

Re: Nintendo Download: 25th February (Europe)

veeflames

@ASonic3582 Ah, I see. Thanks for telling me that. I was worried the games weren't going to be released on the S. African eShop.
@Toadsfriend I'm also a big fan of Super Princess Peach. It's such a charming game! I don't think it was that hard, though... The hardest parts are probably the boss fights where you really have to figure out how to bear them. And maybe also when you can't use your emotion abilities. That can place you in a pinch!

Re: Nintendo Download: 25th February (Europe)

veeflames

Are the Pokemon GBC games coming to the South African eShop? I can't find them on there... and it's not listed under the "Coming Soon to 3DS eShop" section either. FYI, the South African eShop is usually a part of the European eShop.
Are the games listed on the European eShop anyway?

Re: Site News: Welcome To The Brand New Nintendo Life!

veeflames

@antdickens Huh. I could have sworn that I did that when I couldn't find a way to switch into desktop mode (didn't work), but now I have desktop view on my phone now and it looks spectacular! Well done! Maybe if you put the option for a desktop view at the bottom of the page as it was in the previous version, though...

Re: Site News: Welcome To The Brand New Nintendo Life!

veeflames

So far so good. My only gripe is no desktop view for mobile... I don't want to be stuck using a PC for Nintendo Life!
@sinalefa Yeah, the new notifications section is awesome! I freaking do not need to go to my email to see any mentions from NLife.
Oh, and everything's a little... square-y. Windows 8 influence? Anyway, congrats to @antdickens for transforming the site! I'm still recovering from the shock when I first saw this redesign on my phone, but I guess I'll get used to it.

Re: More Details Emerge on the Launch of My Nintendo

veeflames

@mjc0961 Nope, YOU are wrong. Software is tied to the NNID. You just have to make a phone call to Nintendo to kinda authorize the NNID on a new system, if in any case your old system is unavailable. Save data is tied to the hardware, though.
You can go to the eShop and see your purchases. How is that tied to the hardware?

Re: Nintendo of America Confirms amiibo Support for Star Fox Zero, Details More Releases and Olympian Unlocks

veeflames

@NintyMan Exactly. Platinum Games' games have solid shop systems... Maybe in Star Fox Zero's case the shop will be in form of a hanger (remember the wallpapers on the game's official website) where you can but stuff to upgrade your Arwing (and the other vehicles, too), whether it's for the long term or just for the next mission. Amiibo could unlock vehicle liveries and even change the shape of Smart Bomb explosions; for example, a Kirby Amiibo could unlock a Kirby themed livery and that vehicle will shoot a Smart Bomb that explodes in the shape of Kirby's face (like special fireworks). Heck, it could even unlock more features than the two mentioned above.
I just want a Direct detailing this game. Of all the games supporting amiibo in the last Direct, it had to be Star Fox Zero's that wouldn't get talked about!
