Yeah, pretty happy with what was said about the game! No online multiplayer, though... and the amiibo functionality? eh. I have the original game if I wanted to play with the SNES arwing. OK, maybe because I don't have a Fox amiibo...
@ThomasBW84 Haha, I guess it's bit obvious that lots of people would be quick to label the Wii U's power as the reason why TPHD is only 30FPS. But yeah, I wish it was 60FPS, too... and I'm very certain the Wii U can handle it.
@JaxonH Once again, you make so much sense. Thank you.
I'll even go as far and say there is no need to flail your arms around in the air when playing Skyward Sword (well, most of the time). Just use your wrists properly and you'll be fine. It's just like Splatoon's motion controls; there is no freakin' need to move your whole arms around. It's all in the wrist.
Simply put, if you're playing Wii games (even Wii Sports) and flailing your arms around, you're probably doing it wrong.
@ThomasBW84 Nice review. I do have a question to ask, though... "In terms of visuals, the 1080p and 30fps lock are both excellent, though it's a pity the Wii U doesn't have enough grunt to achieve 60 frames."
Where did you get this information from? Not that I'm doubting you, it's just that I thought the reason why this game isn't at 60fps was because of one of two things (maybe both): the fact that the game's physics would be changed if the frame rate went up to 60fps, and, quite frankly, laziness (see Wind Waker HD).
Awesome deals. I will certainly get Child of Light.... And maybe Rayman Legends. I think I'll get Blacklist and AC later... @JaxonH is Blacklist anything like Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars (amazing game if you haven't played it already)? If so, maybe I'll shove Rayman Legends down for later (already have it on PC, so..)
@JaxonH didn't you discuss this with me and conclude that the NX is a hybrid console with the handheld component coming first a while back? Seems you've backtracked a little bit.
Good Lord, very tough poll!
I have so many favorite Pokemon games I don't know which one to pick! FireRed, Diamond, Heartgold, Black, Black 2, X... Which one do I pick?!
I will say that Diamond was the only DS game I played for a pretty long while (scratch that, dominated a significant part of my childhood), so I guess I need to vote for two more games. FireRed I also played a lot, but that's the case for Black, too.
Gah. Hard choices, indeed.
@Nicolai Don't be like that! Who said there wasn't going to be a general Nintendo Direct down the road? And who's to say we won't be surprised in this Direct?
@ASonic3582 Ah, I see. Thanks for telling me that. I was worried the games weren't going to be released on the S. African eShop. @Toadsfriend I'm also a big fan of Super Princess Peach. It's such a charming game! I don't think it was that hard, though... The hardest parts are probably the boss fights where you really have to figure out how to bear them. And maybe also when you can't use your emotion abilities. That can place you in a pinch!
Are the Pokemon GBC games coming to the South African eShop? I can't find them on there... and it's not listed under the "Coming Soon to 3DS eShop" section either. FYI, the South African eShop is usually a part of the European eShop. Are the games listed on the European eShop anyway?
Even if it's just a little bit under 500 people, I'm glad a lot of people are voting for Skyward Sword. Skyward Sword is one of the best Wii games, period.
@TruenoGT Yup, I'm also a huge fan of Phantom Hourglass. The controls surprised me at first, but I got around to it very quickly. I don't like the Temple of the Ocean King sections, though... I thought it felt repetitive. But that's just a pet peeve of mine... everything else about PH is amazing.
Wind Waker is the best Zelda I've played, ever. Everything about it is just amazing; the music, the swordplay, the items, the characters, and even the cel-shaded visuals is a delight to look at.
@Shirma_Akayaku So I finally got a verification code afterusing my third email. Wonder why nothing was happening for the first two emails... shrugs Eh, at least it should be working now.
I really need one of these. The GC controller is one of my favorite controllers of all time, and I'd certainly take a Pro Controller that looks like a GC controller and play far more games than just Smash U.
@antdickens Huh. I could have sworn that I did that when I couldn't find a way to switch into desktop mode (didn't work), but now I have desktop view on my phone now and it looks spectacular! Well done! Maybe if you put the option for a desktop view at the bottom of the page as it was in the previous version, though...
So far so good. My only gripe is no desktop view for mobile... I don't want to be stuck using a PC for Nintendo Life! @sinalefa Yeah, the new notifications section is awesome! I freaking do not need to go to my email to see any mentions from NLife. Oh, and everything's a little... square-y. Windows 8 influence? Anyway, congrats to @antdickens for transforming the site! I'm still recovering from the shock when I first saw this redesign on my phone, but I guess I'll get used to it.
@Tank207 WWHD was released at the time when Nintendo's games usually ran at 30fps. It was until 3D World came that buttery-smooth 60FPS came packaged with Nintendo's games... well, most of them. XD
I'd actually love this. Please do it. The only thing I would change (if I were porting it, that is) would be the final boss design. Seriously, that thing is absolutely rubbish; it's like some 6 year old was responsible for the design. Thank goodness the music is awesome, though....
@mjc0961 Nope, YOU are wrong. Software is tied to the NNID. You just have to make a phone call to Nintendo to kinda authorize the NNID on a new system, if in any case your old system is unavailable. Save data is tied to the hardware, though. You can go to the eShop and see your purchases. How is that tied to the hardware?
@TheLastLugia I actually chuckled a bit at that... lol So nothing this week for my European 3DS. Ah well, it's not like I buy that much anyway :laughing;
Brilliant. Just brilliant. I need to use that idea in one of my own stages (with proper citations, of course). That is really awesome... wish I could play it right now!
@zool "Now it is confirmed what the delay in releasing the game was, more Amiibo content." Source, please. This article only confirmed that there would be some amiibo functionality.
@NintyMan Exactly. Platinum Games' games have solid shop systems... Maybe in Star Fox Zero's case the shop will be in form of a hanger (remember the wallpapers on the game's official website) where you can but stuff to upgrade your Arwing (and the other vehicles, too), whether it's for the long term or just for the next mission. Amiibo could unlock vehicle liveries and even change the shape of Smart Bomb explosions; for example, a Kirby Amiibo could unlock a Kirby themed livery and that vehicle will shoot a Smart Bomb that explodes in the shape of Kirby's face (like special fireworks). Heck, it could even unlock more features than the two mentioned above. I just want a Direct detailing this game. Of all the games supporting amiibo in the last Direct, it had to be Star Fox Zero's that wouldn't get talked about!

Re: Metroid Prime: Federation Force is Coming Sooner Than Expected
Doesn't look like there's a solo mode... That's disappointing.
With that said, I actually enjoyed the MP: FF segment. Definitely infomative!
Re: Paper Mario Colour Splash Coming to Wii U
I want to be very hyped for this, but it's not working. I will definitely wait until more info before I pass judgement, though.

Grippy. I already love Grippy.

Re: Talking Point: It's Catch-Up Time for Nintendo Direct, With North America and Europe Having Different Priorities
All I want is a (positive) SFZ update. And some Zelda U wouldn't hurt, too.
Surprises are always welcome but I'm not holding my breath on that.
Re: A Wii U and 3DS Nintendo Direct Is On the Way
Yes Yes Yes All Of My Yes.
And it starts just after my classes end!

@Shiryu Except I have a US Wii U. Thanks for the info, though. I might want to look into a replacement copy... that is, after I buy other stuff!
Re: Katsuhiro Harada on What Sets Pokkén Tournament Apart from Tekken
@Shiryu I wish my copy of TTT2 didn't go out on me... such a fantastic game. One day the Wii U just stopped reading the disc.

I'd love a FFVII remake on a Nintendo console, though.

So annoying!

At least the figures look and sound awesome.
@ShanaUnite At that price I actually want to fly around in it. Oh wait...

@crimsontadpoles A Splatoon sequel would most likely have VC with friends only. With randoms, VC will not exist.
