Japanese magazine CoroCoro is teasing the fact that it will announce an entirely new Pokémon in a forthcoming issue.
Named "Magiana", the 'mon has been shown off in a trailer for the next issue - in silhouette form, at least.
The issue in question hits newsstands in Japan on February 15th, which is next Monday. It's not clear how much information CoroCoro will be revealing at that point, as literally nothing else is known about this new Pocket Monster.
Here's the cover - the Magiana image is at the bottom:

I feel like I don't know any Pokémon beyond the Gold/Silver generation. XD So many.
This is really interesting. Could be a new Pokémon that introduces Gen 7 or another Mysterious Pokémon for Gen 6.
Lopunny and Aromatisse fusion?
Looks like some sort of rabbit Pokemon to me because of the ears.
It looks a little similar to Carbink.
It's looks like a cross between Bunnelby and Mega Gardevoir to me. Pokemon fusion confirmed!
Prob the 7th Gen Pokemon that will show up in the last Gen 6 movie, they did that quite often with movies by showing next gen pokemons before their games. The first Pokemon Movie has Donphan showing up for example.
A tease for a reveal of a reveal. I'd rather see a bunch of new 'mons in a trailer for Generation VII than have such minimal reveals.
@InternetBowser Yeah let's get rid of voltorb and electrode they're just stupid balls and one of them is just the reverse of the other. Lets get rid of Muk and grimer because they are just piles of goop
My first thought was that it looked like Braxien. If it wore a puffy dress....
@InternetBowser Believe it or not, there are people who like the lesser popular Pokemon and/or consider them among their favorites (not me personally, but I know a few people). And Nintendo keeps all the Pokemon to service all their fans and let them reuse them from game to game.
Oh, I never knew Doraemon was a Pokemon!
In all seriousness, will this Pokemon be part of the rumoured Z?
Ah, for a second I thought it meant a whole new Pokemon main game.
Gotta catch 'em all!!!
Im hyped
I think this all but confirms a suspicion I've had for a while that they are going to reveal Gen VII on the 27th. What better way to celebrate twenty years of Pokemon than revealing the next generation of Pokemon alongside the re-releases of the original games.
hopefully this means they will be announcing a Pokemon X & Y sequel soon. I really want a new one to play.
This would seem to be the first Gen 7 Pokemon. As I doubt it would be patched into the 6th Gen (Not that they shouldn't be able to). But as we've already seen with the data mining of Pokemon like Hoopa they've been on cart since launch.
Also it's looks like it has a starter feel to it. a Fire Rabbit maybe?
Either way I would like to see Pokemon Z before Gen 7 as I feel it will close off this generation with the logical conclusion.
What?!?! Wait I'm not ready I don't have the appropriate number of hyped themed gifs for this!!
Serebii has posted a photo that actually shows the mon in color. Looks neat, probably Steel/Fairy typing?

Yeah, lots of extra info over at Serebii including an actual picture, it's apparently a man-made Pokemon. It'll be in the Volcanion movie too but I haven't heard of this one being data-mined from the games so hopefully that means it's Gen VII.
One of the things I love about Nintendo Directs is that everyone gets the information at the same time without needing to rely on leaks or translations.
Based on what GameFreak has done before, it's likely a 7th gen pokemon. Could it be that 7th gen will be sooner than expected and that we won't get a Pokemon "Z" game, or are they just teasing the next generation a long time in advance?
My gut instinct is telling me that it could instead be added to the next 6th gen game and appear in Z or whatever it/them are called. It's doubtful since they've never added new pokemon to games mid-generation, but it's possible since they've added alternative legendary formes before.
Edit: After looking at the colour picture on serebii, I'm guessing it could be a new legendary that'll be on the next 6th gen games, i.e. Pokemon Z or X2 and Y2 or ZX and ZY or whatever it is. It could have an important role in the story, but I'll guess it's an event legendary instead.
More freakin' Pokemon? This is getting ridiculous...
I think they might be adding onto Gen 6 for Pokemon Z as it was such a small generation. The rabbits head remind me of Klink.
I freaking love it. I hope it's a steel/fairy type. I want more fairy pokemon.
It looks like a robotic version of Diancie!
@InternetBowser Can Mewtwo use extinction? LMAO 😂 GTFO Pokemon is fine, no need to change it for old genwunners. Oh and if anything did use "extinction" it would be Arceus, you know, the Pokémon that made the universe. I doubt you even play the games lmao
@Vee_Flames You have zero reason to be suprised
Looks like someone fused a diance with a klink
Team Flare caught Diance and Technologically modified to be a new Kind of Diancie Gensect-like xD. All for the world's beauty!
Pokemon is the only series where I see people angry because they add new characters/enemies each generation while retaining backward compatibility for older fans. I've yet to see how either is a bad thing. I've got Pokemon in my current games that are older than my son, and he's turning 10 this year. I started with Red back in high school, and now he's grown up playing Pokemon with me. It's all good.
@Vee_Flames I disagree. The day that a new generation doesn't have any new Pokemon is the day I'd lose interest. No one wants to use the same Pokemon over and over again. Each region is a new ecosystem, and thus should have its own creatures exclusive to the area. You're in the minority bud.
Also, if you're the type that's complaining that catching them all will be too "hard", I beg to differ. You can literally catch them all with X/Y and OR/AS. Just two games, and you could have them all in two weeks. I know this for a fact because I did it myself. this summer.
@reynoldsn93 IM TRIGGERED CHECK YOUR PRIVILEGE YOU POKEMONIST F***
Nah, but jokes aside, I honestly dunno what to think right now of the Pokemon. I haven't really seen much of what it really is, so I won't judge just yet.
Edit: I checked the article that knows more about the Pokemon than this one does. The backstory seems a little stupid to me (Being able to create a robot like that 500 Years ago? REALLY?), but otherwise seems solid so far.
