Annnnnd now I just realized that one of the "endings" for Command is something about Fox joining a supersonic racing league or something like that.
Command wasn't really a good SF game, so I hope the connections between it and the racing game (again, that's if it even exists) end there. No weird grandkids characters. No brokenhearted Fox. None of that weird stuff, please.

Cue everyone saying that this is stupid, they don't want it, and that it's going to be garbage, alá Mario + Rabbids. Because in all our infinite knowledge, we know which game will be fighting for 3s and 4s from looking at that crystal ball we found a week ago near that one shady spot at the garbage bin; all in the comfort of our own armchairs. Must be exciting!
Personally, I am very intrigued. As long as the game is nothing like Command, then bring it on.... that's assuming the rumor is true, anyway.

A multiple-round Splatfest has always been the logical next step for Splatfests, and I’m actually surprised it’s taken this long for them to arrive. Always thought about a multiple-round Splatfest would be a thing in the first Splatoon game.

Now I’m not saying this Splatfest theme is bad, but I prolly think they should have gone with something a little more Nintendo themed. Like “Nintendo Faceoff Series Round 1: Samus vs. Rosalina” (based on Nintendo blondes that like to do things on their own terms) or something like that. Hopefully Nintendo actually does something like that before Splatfests end.

Looked pretty cool, but I'll probably have to see more of it first before indulging. It's might just be a very creative idea if Nintendo shows continues to show its potential down the road.

Mario Odyssey is easily my GotY (Splatoon 2 takes second spot while BotW takes third spot), but I'm really glad 2017 was a phenomenal year for games. The Switch truly is a godsend, and I can't wait to see what lies in store for the Switch and all gaming in general for the next year.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is clearly the best. No contest, really.
I mean, don't get me wrong: I am ABSOLUTELY loving Odyssey right now and also ABSOLUTELY loved Sunshine and 3D World (that game needs all the love it can get; a Mario game with a very focused design), but no game, Mario or otherwise, will come close to the sheer wonder and brilliance that I experienced from Super Mario Galaxy... and Galaxy 2 was even more of the same thing, which will NEVER be a bad thing in my books. Honestly, I thought, and still think, Galaxy/2 are the best pieces of software ever put out by the gaming industry.

As for 2D Mario, that was a hard one... but I had to go with New Super Mario Bros., easily my best game on the DS. Simply couldn't stop playing that one for years. I don't think I've felt that way with any other 2D Mario game I've played (a lot of them).

@Yorumi Okay, that's definitely weird. Although at random times I've had my Pro Controller stop responding entirely when I'm using it wirelessly, and it wouldn't respond until I connected it to the dock using the wired connection. So maybe your Pro Controller is acting up a bit too.

@wazlon @Yorumi That's weird. Right now I'm playing Sonic Mania in tabletop mode with the Pro Controller and it works just fine.

Make sure the Pro Controller is Player 1, not the Joy Cons. You can easily do this by removing the Joy Cons from the Switch and then controlling said Switch with the Pro Controller. At this point, even trying to play the game with Joy Cons will not work because they will be registered as Player 2.

I also got stuck in one of the tubes in Chemical Plant Zone (one of those tubes where I was supposed to exit them by opening those hinged doors. I had to restart the level for that.

Retail Splatoon 2, please.

However, I thought Sun/Moon was pretty mehey and underwhelming. I'm not sure I'm gonna pick up US/UM... even if it was on the Switch. If I'm being very honest, I'm glad Gen 7 isn't seeing an entry on the Switch. I'd rather have Pokken, in fact!

It's a shame, because during Nintendo's E3 I'll be in classes then... Oh jeez, how I would be thinking about what they announced or talked about!
Nintendo and Sony's E3 will be my focus this time around. I wasn't filled with any excitement whatsoever (well, maybe for BoTW) on the days leading up to E3 2016, but I came out super satisfied. Now I'm dangerously heading into E3 2017 with more hype than ever. Nintendo already has Mario Odyssey, which is sure to knock it out of the park. Sony will probably show me something I really want to play on my PS4. Microsoft.... Eh. Not stoked about the Scorpio, anyway.

@Shellcore I'm not saying that it wouldn't be better if we could just plug in a headset. I'm just saying the solution's a needlessly complex one, but hardly a mess.

Very pleased with the price of the service. But now I'm worried that VC has been replaced by the Classic Games Selection (that better not be the case not necessarily for my own sake but for the sake of the internet).

One striking detail to note is the use of the words "classic titles." On Nintendo's page it shows some NES titles but what if "classic titles" extended to stuff like SNES and N64 (heck, maybe even GameCube... although that one isn't necessarily considered "classic") games?! Now that would be very awesome, but I'm not holding my breath.

LOL. Yes, it's complex, but this thing's hardly a mess. Headset is connected to a hub, which you connect your Switch and mobile phone to. Again, not ideal, but hardly a mess either.
Is this even the only solution to voice chat? You could only connect your headset to the phone and call it a day.
But hey, we all need a little bit of drama on the internet every day, so...

Hoping for a day one download for my Switch for this game. Looks too fun to pass on.

Realistically it's almost obvious that the Inklings and Spring Man would take the spots as playable characters in Smash Switch. But the character I really want to see is Professor Layton.
I think the only reason we haven't seen the Professor in Smash yet is probably because it would be hard to make his stages unique from the rest. But then again, Layton hasn't appeared in any form in any previous Smash game... probably because Sakurai hasn't even noticed he exists. Hopefully the ballot gave him a clue that he's somewhat popular - if not niche - and deserves a spot in Smash.

Am I the only one who loves the design of the Phat DS? It feels and looks solid to me.

Hyped for both Nintendo and Sony's presentations. Between having just got a Switch yesterday a birthday gift and enjoying my PS4 a lot, there's a lot to be excited for.
E3 2016 for all three companies was a runaway success despite my very low expectations. Now this year I have high expectations. For better or for worse...?
