Re: Here Are The Games Officially Confirmed in the Nintendo Switch Reveal

veeflames

I'm so excited for the new 3D Mario. It looks brilliant, really. And for the first time in 6 years we can triple jump.
Oh, and Splatoon is looking neat on the Switch. Like, really neat. Well, except that we don't know whether there'll be motion controls or touchscreen controls.
But yeah, I hate that we're still in October. >

@Joeynator3000 You might want to give Lego City Undercover a try first, if you're looking for a Lego game to try out first. Excellent, funny, and not as glitchy as some of the Lego games seem to be (that might explain the game's long loading times, though).

Re: A New Pikmin Game is Coming to 3DS

veeflames

@crimsontadpoles Well, that's the thing though. Pikmin is rarely fast paced; you're either just exploring the world and grabbing new Pikmin... or just grabbing new fruit. It's probably fast paced with boss battles but I think that's it. Trinen did mention that Pikmin 3DS is developed with action in mind, so maybe we'll be getting a lot of fast-paced action.

Re: A New Pikmin Game is Coming to 3DS

@MoonKnight7 @Pikmin22 I think of this game as what 2D Metroid games are to 3D Metroid games. And for some reason it sounds like Nintendo has nailed the 2D gameplay of Pikmin for the 3DS.

Re: Super Mario Maker Is Coming To 3DS

veeflames

Not a big fan of the way Nintendo keeps porting Wii U exclusives to the 3DS (if Splatoon makes it to the 3DS, I swear...), but I guess Mario Maker was an obvious choice. I especially predicted the wealth of various local-sharing options, especially StreetPass which I think would be pretty neat.
One question, though... Do Wii U users have to buy the 3DS version again (that is, full price)? Because that would not be ideal.

Re: 3DS Nintendo Direct Confirmed for 1st September

@Frosty_09 Oh, definitely a sequel to Dual Strike. See, One of the reasons why I love Advance Wars is its staple "Haribo" colorful visuals. It's really cute and somehow complements the explosive violence in the game quite well. While I've enjoyed what I've played of Days of Ruin, I'm not a big fan of the dark, dritty nature of that game at all. It almost feels non-Advance Wars like, even if the excellent strategy-based gameplay is still present.
Long story short, I'd very much appreciate a return to the cheery, colorful visuals of the first three AW games. Days of Ruin is not bad in the slightest; it's just that I don't like the context of that game.

Re: Video: Learn More About Everyone's Favourite Platforming Hero - Luigi

@Giygas_95 While it's a great idea, A Paper Luigi game based on Waffle Kingdom (and a little bit of Rogueport) won't work, I'm afraid... We already know the full story. Tons of players will be playing a game that has already been spoiled for them. I think a better idea would be making a Mr. L game that combines the best of Super Paper Mario and The Thousand Year Door (which includes exploring more of Dimentio's dark side).
@Blue_Blur Awww! I was hoping to comment "Just sitting here, waiting for Blue_Blur to make a comment on this article" but you already commented.

Re: Poll: Did Nintendo Triumph With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at E3?

veeflames

@JaxonH eh... I think Microsoft had the best showing this year. Sony's was great, no doubt... but I didn't jump up and scream in joy for many games shown in Sony's E3 (Crash and REVII were spectacular news, though) unlike in Microsoft's and Nintendo's where the Xbox One S (as well as Forza) and Zelda: BotW alone made this E3 totally worthwhile for me. BotW was especially amazing... just, WOW. IS THIS ZELDA?!
I still want a PS4 this year, though. If Sony announced a PS4 Mini ala the Xbox One S, then Sony might have had the best conference to me. But of course, I think I, as well as you, as well as everyone here, as gamers are in for the treat.

Re: Poll: Did Nintendo Triumph With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at E3?

Went in with the lowest of expectations, came out like a giddy idiot that couldn't stop thinking about how amazing Zelda U was.
Sure, there was the frustrating lack of new software (or even software at all) but I think Nintendo did a nice job not raising people's expectations like they did last year. Can't wait for this game's release.
@shani Thank you for that. I'll will always say that gamers win E3, not the companies. This E3 was pretty decent, to boot. Fighting over which company had the best showing is just as dumb as fanboyism.

Re: Feature: Our Favourite Nintendo E3 Moments

veeflames

Since E3 2015 was the first E3 I ever watched live, I do not have many memorable moments for E3 like watching live trailers and such. But I have been watching past E3 and reveals and by far the best moment of any E3 ever is probably the fight between Iwata and Reggie during Nintendo's E3 2014 conference/event. That was epic beyond words.... so epic was it that I was actually sad when they stopped fighting to sit down and demonstrate Smash's amiibo functionality. It was just amazing.

Re: Editorial: With Lowered Expectations E3 Can Still Be Full of Nintendo Magic

veeflames

I'm not really hyped for this year's E3. I'm not really interested in Microsoft's presentation, I have only one thing on my wishlist for Sony's conference which I can't be certain will be fulfilled, and Nintendo's E3, despite Zelda U, is looking barebones. I'll be watching Nintendo's E3 since I'm not going to school that day while I have to go to school during Microsoft/Sony's conference, but I'm not keeping my hopes high during this one. Shame...
