I wouldn't be surprised if the questions regarding these games is why Devilish Brain Training still isn't (and most likely won't be) released in Europe. The EU can be quite whiny after all.
"On one side, there are the people who appreciate it for its suggestive content, and on the other side, there are people who are offended at how heavy handed it is."
And then there are the people who don't mind the fanservice but actually enjoy the gameplay. While Burst is decent at best and I haven't played Deep Crimson yet, Shinovi Versus is honestly the most fun beat 'em up brawler I've played, thanks to its fast pace.
Speaking of which, I wouldn't be surprised to see this series only continue on PlayStation platforms, since those games get much more attention and, from what I've heard from Estival Versus, are also better games than the 3DS games.
I wonder why they don't just build the search functionality from the site into the game, but it's still neat to browse courses from pc and smartphone. A play button when using the Wii U Browser is a neat addition too!
I absolutely loved this game, as well as Let's Go To The City, as a kid and played it together with a friend all the time. With New Leaf out however, I don't really see a reason to come back to it.
Glad to see it's doing well, it looks like this series really has a lot of charm. Hopefully the European release will be soon, but the complete absence of the game from the Direct makes me a bit worried.
@Artwark Assuming you're talking about Layton, there's only been one mobile game in the series so far right? While it isn't up there with the DS and 3DS games, I thought it was really enjoyable and it had some decent cases.
@BlockPunch Advertisements and reviews are two completely different things, not to mention a lot of ads that you see appear because you have similar interests. I've been getting nothing but Fallout 4 and other non-Nintendo game ads for whatever reason.
Man, every time I see Sonic Generations running at 60 fps I hope Sonic Team manages to get a boost-style Sonic game running at 60 on a console. While Unleashed (Daytime stages at least), Colours and Generations are a lot of fun and really beautiful for their consoles, after you play Generations at 60 you never want anything else.
@Dankykong Pretty sure this is the same game that was released on the Wii U eShop (and Steam), just with some enhancements for the 3DS.
@Morpheel Like Dankykong said, it's basically the same game with added bonus levels, but there are of course updated graphics, music and some new (optional) gameplay mechanics using the touch screen.
Interesting. I only downloaded Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles because Sonic 1 and 2 are both available in much better versions on various systems. (Shame the remastered versions are only on mobile right now, maybe those will finally come to consoles?)
@CliveWinston From what I heard it's actually more difficult on harder difficulties because you need to switch between two rows (and sometimes use them together).
My copy just arrived, excited to try it out later today!
Yeah, it surprised me yesterday. After around an hour of playing around with the stage creator I got a message saying something about delivery being earlier than expected. Pretty neat!
@russellohh Yeah, I remember seeing some drop tests on YouTube, pretty much every phone got destroyed, but the 3DS XL and Wii U GamePad only got a few scratches. I also saw a video of someone trying to break open his Wii U to get a disc out (it broke due to water damage), and it took a very, very long time to do it. These things are strong.
I remember my father coming home from a shop and, for no real reason, with Mario Kart Wii. That was probably the most excited my little brother and I have ever been after buying the Wii together (completely with cash money I might add ). Had a lot of fun with this one. Played it online a lot, which worked much better than on the DS, but also enjoyed local multiplayer with friends, as setting up friends on Wii games wasn't all that intuitive...
Wait there were Final Fantasy characters in this? Well, I haven't played this game in years, so I really don't remember seeing characters I didn't recognise, though maybe that was because I wasn't even completely familiar with all the Mario characters back then. I always thought this was a really fun game, but I lost my copy a long time ago. Will probably pick it up on the VC.
3D World for me. So much variety, so many surprises, and the best and most fluid control in any Mario game to date (not to mention a fantastic soundtrack), it's my favourite without a doubt. Honourable mentions to Galaxy 2.
This was actually the first Mario game I've played for more than 15 minutes (I tried 64 DS, but to this day can't get into it), so the NSMB series always has a special place in my heart. Exploring secrets and discussing them with friends was so much fun, and playing the mini games with four players always gave us a smile.
It could be because I grew up with this one, but I always looked forward to new NSMB games. I think the Wii game was the first game I was ever hyped for, I remember checking the Nintendo site for news almost daily.
I think most that needs to be said has been said already in this thread, I'll just add that it might become time to drop review scores and go with a system more similar to Eurogamer's, since judging from the review the game isn't worse than Burst. Other than that, I think it's a good, informative review.
Question for those who played both Shinovi Versus and Deep Crimson: Are there any big differences in gameplay? I thought SV had great, fast-paced combat, so if this is similar I'll probably pick it up.
Not the most exciting theme, but I don't know anything about Transformers so I honestly prefer this. While I don't sing or dance very often, my pick for this one is singing.
I bought Shinovi Versus on sale recently and I'm hooked! Fantastic fast paced gameplay (and a really decent soundtrack too). I'll definitely pick up the other games at some point.
Also, not really Nintendo related, but has Estival Versus been confirmed for Europe yet?
NIS has been announcing game after game for Europe, and I can't complain. They always bring the games over without cutting content (Rising Star can learn from that) and they generally have pretty sweet limited editions for those who want that too.
Haven't played 999 and VLR yet, but was planning to do so this summer. I just hope they don't ask some cheap European publisher to publish the game without English voice acting.
I've only been a fan of the series for a few years, but I played some fun games and will always look forward to what's next for the hedgehog.
Also, I really hope people will give Runners a try when it officially releases tomorrow. I've played the soft launched version quite a bit, and it's definitely one of the best mobile games out there, some people have even been saying it's the best Sonic game since Generations (though I wouldn't agree with that).

Re: Play: Enjoy Some Festive Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. With Nintendo Life
Won't make it during mate evenings unfortunately. It's been way too long since I've played MK8, tough. I'll have to fix that soon.

@sillygostly Its convenient if you don't have a full speaker system, as TV's generally have pretty good speakers.

Re: The Next Nintendo Direct is on 12th November
You know, I don't even care what we'll see. Just seeing Shibata again is gonna make me so happy.
Though I certainly wouldn't mind some exciting announcements.

Re: Sonic Lost World's Wii U Exclusivity Ends With Budget PC Release
Ah well, this one probably wasn't selling a lot of Wii U's anyway, and I'm interested in seeing what the modding community can come up with.
@IceClimbers I don't remember Lost World having any framerate issues?
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th October (Europe)
@gaming_24_7 Wait, I thought NoE already used the US versions on the Wii U VC, or is that only for pre-N64 games?
Re: Review: Freedom Planet (Wii U eShop)
@dizzy_boy Most likely not until November.

Re: 3DS System Update 10.0.0-27 Is Available Now
Why is this €170 device more stable than any €500+ smartphone out there?
Not that I mind, most phones are ridiculously overpriced...
Re: Pumped BMX+ is Tricking Its Way to Wii U Soon
Hmm, OlliOlli wasn't really my thing, so I'll probably skip this one. Nice to see Curve keeping up the support for Wii U though.

Almost finished Shinovi Versus on Vita, I'll probably play Burst next so this one will have to wait a bit anyway.
Re: Super Mario Maker's eShop Pre-Load is Live in North America
I don't think Europe has had any pre-loads since Smash, unless I missed some.
Anyway, I pre-ordered the amiibo bundle. Really looking forward to the game.

Dang, I haven't even played Splat Zones yet. School is over for me now, so hopefully I'll have some time to play some more.
