Original Game Boy was my first handheld console.

I did not get until was 19, and only did so to pass time on a lengthy commute (no iPhones yet). Had always scoffed at no color nor backlit display.

While never had any interest in anything Pokémon. Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Donkey Kong even more than I can handle (I have such a backlog of numerous respective titles).

I’m almost half way into current losing franchise season on 23 Switch, while also have seemingly improved 24 with Game Pass.

Not sure what to do.

I have been playing 23 on Switch (will continue to do so as want to justify even my $10 sale purchase).

Though part of reason eventually got for Switch was at least due to Xbox Series Game Pass ‘free’ version being quite glitchy. (Have tried out a little similarly with 24 GP edition, and no such issues yet.)

I have such a backlog with (not only) Mario games.

So far I have completed original SMB and SMB2.

Concurrently working on SMB3 and SM64. Both are that much better than previous two mentioned. Though the latter also works if pulling the hair out of my head would be considered a good thing.

Still stuck in 1996 with Super Mario 64.

May get around to Unicorn Overlord by 2096 (backlog and expected pace)

Guess I should read more up on, but always wondered how online communication could be conflict between regions with different languages. Mainly with ‘gateways’ (perhaps not the right term) such as domain and email addresses.

I’m guessing English may be the ‘universal’ or even required language / alphabet when comes to (?)

Super Mario 64 is one of the titles playing.

On one of the early levels cannot properly get all jumps needed to acquire all 8 red coins, then yellow star.

Been trying a few hours. I will get it. One day. One weekend.

(Using official Pro controller. Also have official N64 ‘Online’ controller, but don’t like that for SM64 oddly enough.)

A little bit each of Super Mario 3 NES and Super Mario 64, while a good bit more of MLB 23.

Also need to overhaul pricing on pixel remasters. $60 for FF bundle still too expensive.

Maybe Metroid Prime remastered though I haven’t played yet lol (backlog).

Only Sonic 2D games for me (no red cap disqualifies otherwise 😛). Probably not a coincidence 5 out of top 6 on list.

Never been into Pokemon cards (sports trading cards for a bit, yes).

Though of course wish had bought a truckload of the former around 1999 💰💵🤑

@Dpullam Yes, but by and large won’t be seeing any card / cartridge inserted into a modern day console.

May have less prestige as will be so much smaller (while arguably can’t even be considered ‘cartridges’).

I was out of the Nintendo loop for Wii U (and every handheld after Game Boy Advance).

Finally got a Switch (OLED) 15 months ago.

Can wait for the successor OLED variant (if don’t skip another generation altogether).

Not a fan corporate retraction.

The more I see hardware variants still being released for Switch 1, the more likely Switch 2 release could be delayed.

I am not at all complaining, given my endless game library backlog.

Probably split between two NES titles.

How about slimming down the price of FFI-VI pixel remaster. Shame that hasn’t gone on sale yet.

Most of mine are still sealed due to backlog.

At least Nintendo-published tend to hold resale value…and of course much more sealed over time when go out of print (could apply to me should I quit gaming or find myself in a money crunch).

3% voted for more than 2TB. Better chance of having my former landlord return my Wii and all its games / irreplaceable save data that he stole.

By far and away my most played are sports titles, but never soccer / association football.

Must be a U.S. (and perhaps Canada) thing.

@wazlon There is a way to transfer to new card if you have a Windows computer. Many tutorials out there on how to do including YouTube.

Metroid & Super Mario 3 NES, Super Mario 64

My physical copy is still sealed. Wonder (no pun intended) if when finally decide to play, will still function normally out of case with no internet connection(?).

I figured ‘Wonder’ would be #1. While I assume it is quite good (my copy is still sealed), would also say that being the newest of the list has much to do with.

It reads “Nintendo”. I could not more baffled.

256gb yellow ‘official’ card for me. Even that’s a bit too big with many of my games being physical.

The only such title I had ever played was for Sega Master System (I imagine a carbon copy of its NES counterpart). Would definitely consider playing ‘again’ if were added to the Online service.

I ordered physical via Amazon. Got 40% off with credit card rewards. Should come Monday or Tuesday (I don’t have Prime and refuse to pay for shipping).

As per the poll, almost 75% here reported ordering physical. Stark contrast to 72% of digital game purchase market share in 2022 (though may be for all platforms - but still 🤷‍♂️).

Here’s an idea. For a small fee (or maybe even none at all), allow Switch game cartridges to be sent to Nintendo in exchange for always having available for free in download library for at least a few console generations.

Perhaps include a postage prepaid envelope with each console. Can fit many cartridges sans case in that.

Even the rumor of the next generation essentially downgrading from an OLED display will hold me back from buying. (Though to be honest, I bought my first Switch - OLED model - just 10 months ago and have a major backlog of games on that.)

Nintendo - Not much this weekend. If at all will be Super Mario 64 (3D All-Stars version)

PS5 - MLB 22 The Show. Also just about finishing up Uncharted 2.

Xbox - Playing a bit each of Unpacking and Human Fall Flat until exhaust achievements for daily reward points. Also ‘legitimately’ playing 7 Days to Die (a very underrated game IMO).

I’d rather have a vintage-themed NES or SNES ‘cartridge’ that works similarly.

Hopefully the price gets updated minus 40 percent.

Having a hard time doing 5th star requirement in a few early courses. (And at least so far don’t want to maybe cheat by using a guide / walkthrough.)

$75 is a bit much to pay for just six very retro titles (never mind the asinine which the physical goes for). I can patiently wait for a 40-50% off sale.

@ActionPanther I was the same way with Game Pass. But if you join Microsoft rewards (assuming you haven’t already), there is an incentive to play Game Pass games. From there, I have found several fun games that would have not considered otherwise.

I have all three systems and (at least not yet) no interest in Starfield.
