Re: Surprise! Braid: Anniversary Edition Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Just Dropped

@OmnitronVariant Well, for starters, your comment wasn't about people thinking he was a great dev but a great guy, which is a big difference. Also, sure, you don't have to like everything about someone to respect him, but the thing is that no one is asking for a saint, just not a bad person. Considering what the dude has advocated for he falls on that category.

If you want to separate his games from his views that's fine, but again that's not what you originally mentioned.

Re: Review: Mario Tennis Fever (Switch 2) - Slim For Singles, But An Addictive Core Gives It Online Legs

@NolandC Just because the reception on a Nintendo site is positive and is different from your personal score doesn't mean there's bias. People prioritize different aspects to judge a game and reviews, as objective as they try to be, end up always being a matter of the reviewer's perspective. The game looks gorgeous, runs flawlessly, it seems to have really good gameplay and while it seems to lack single player content compared to other games, it seems to offer a great multiplayer experience. Mario Kart 8 was the same and people still consider it one of the best games on Switch and was praised in reviews.

Re: Review: Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties (Switch 2) - Maybe It's Time To Take A Break

@The_Nintendo_Expat Not taking any side, but from my understanding the problem isn't how much would the reviewer rate it without counting the controversy, but why would he rate it a 7 in that case when the review sounds more positive than that and only has one negative aspect mentioned according to the user you are addressing. It seems that more than one point was removed because of it if that's the case. Again, according to the person from what I'm understanding.

Personally I don't have an opinion on the game as I haven't played it, but if combat is improved and it's "downside" is too much content, I'd say that it does sound like it should score higher and that the controversy and likeability of a character seems to be impacting the review's score too much when compared to the reception of previous entries.

Re: Video: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Side-By-Side Graphics Comparison (Switch 2 & Switch)

roy130390

@Anti-Matter I'd take 60 fps whenever I can but I really don't think that it's that important in most games and Animal Crossing is definitely one of those. Usually when it matters it's for competitive gameplay and to be honest most people don't even play at an advanced level on their games to the point of 30 vs 60 fps making such a difference, they just like to think they do.

60 fps is nice, yes. And if someone wants to only play games that run like that they are free to do so, but personally I'd say it's such a waste because there really isn't that many games that do on Switch/Switch 2. A stable framerate, even at 30 gives quite a smooth experience that should be enough for most individuals without any specific condition.

I'd say that if people really care that much about frame rate, maybe you shouldn't be choosing a portable device as their console. Not that there won't be games that do run great, but it's likely that there be more that suffer compromises.

Re: Nintendo Suggests Metroid Prime 4's Tortured Development Meant It Was "Divorced From The Changing Of Times"

I didn't find problems with the "kinda" open world for it like others, at least not in the same way. My actual problem with it is that the biomes should be the areas with more exploration. My other gripe is that the bike's perspective is on third person instead of first, which feels kinda weird as Prime games are more immersive thanks to it. Aside from that, I'm really enjoying it. I think I have completed 2/3 from the game but we'll see. It's still great despite of my gripes and it was hard that any game could live to the expectation after such a long time.

Re: Review: Marvel Cosmic Invasion (Switch) - Up There With Best-Ever Arcade Marvel Games

roy130390

I've been playing it and it's causing a great impression. Difficulty is accessible but I wouldn't call it boring despite of also enjoying harder games. I actually had some problems against a certain boss once I progressed a few levels. I'm loving the dialogues and the backgrounds and levels in general are more dynamic than in Shredder's Revenge. Nova's voice actor did a great job. Him and Cosmic Ghost Rider have been quite fun to use and I love that they interact a bit with each other.

Re: 'The Duskbloods' Could Be FromSoftware's Most Ambitious Game Yet, According To Leak

roy130390

It's a shame seeing the negativity surrounding this game. Everyone's entitled to their opinion and if a lot of gamers don't like PvP that's fine, but personally I think the reason why I'm not of the "games used to be better on my days" crowd as well as being constantly negative is because I managed to diversify the types of games I play. If it does badly I really doubt that we'll see more projects like this trying something unique for Switch 2 that isn't Nintendo, but I have faith that there's enough people interested despite of not being popular on this site. Seeing what they did with Nightreign , I think that this game will manage to achieve a good balance between exploration, combat and co-operative gameplay.

Re: The Indie Game Awards 2025 GOTY Nominee List Is Packed With Switch Hits

@Luigia Ah, sorry for the late reply. Absolum is more story driven and there's also a lot more replayability. Every round will unlock new stuff, as in new bosses, npcs, interactions, places to see, etc. It really has a lot to discover and do, specially by beat'em up standards. As for combat, punches feel as good as in SOR4, but this game is more focused on learning how to defend from attacks by dashing on time to counter them. Learning to do builds is also important and quite fun as you are constantly learning the synergy between different abilities.
