Re: Feature: Every Switch 2 Launch Game, Ranked

roy130390

Can't say that I agree with the placement order of this list. I think that the new entry of one of biggest exclusive franchises on the console is clearly number 1. Mario Kart World has been a fantastic way to enjoy and discover the console's capabilities.

Re: Where Are Mario Kart World's Non-Mario Racers? Producer Kosuke Yabuki Has The Answer

roy130390

Unlike the Nickelodeon characters on Sonic Racing, the crossover with other Nintendo characters felt like a crazy situation that could happen because I can see these characters coexisting in the same multiverse, so I enjoy them. There's still a certain harmony and cohesion just like when you see Disney characters from different movies together. I hope that they return as DLC and wouldn't mind new additions.

Re: Reaction: Donkey Kong Bananza Has Instantly Become My Most Anticipated Game Of 2025

roy130390

@zool I'm sorry dude but that makes no sense. It is showing what's new and released in the future. How to make it go into more detail? They are literally showing you parts of the story, the characters, the enemies, the abilities that you can do, etc. How is this trailer just "blatantly selling you something" and previous ones aren't?

I don't know what to tell you about the gameplay... you say that they didn't show how gameplay works and I'm honestly baffled. Are you sure we saw the same direct or that you saw it entirely? because they did show how the gameplay works and yeah, there's a lot of smashing because that's the core gameplay but they also showed platforming, collecting, etc.

It really wasn't any different from any other direct, specially the in-depth ones that focus on one game.

Re: Third-Party Launch Games On Switch 2 Reportedly Sold "Very Low Numbers"

roy130390

@KBuckley27 From what I saw of the article, it's just Sega. Yakuza is kinda niché and Sonic X Shadow Generations sold pretty well on Switch 1 but didn't do much to upgrade the game for Switch 2 as far as I know. On top of that, they are competing with other strong games like Cyberpunk, Rune Factory and Fantasy Life after people spent a lot of money on a new console and one of the most popular franchises got a new, expensive entry.

Re: Say Hello To Pauline In Donkey Kong Bananza

roy130390

That was a great direct! The game looks absolutely fantastic and, while the first time it caught my attention, now I have no doubts that I'll get it regardless of reviews. I'm willing to bet that it will do great in that regard either way. Sculpt mode and amiibo functionality were very forgettable, but it really doesn't matter because after seeing the core gameplay I'm sure it's gonna be one of the best platformers ever.

Re: Talking Point: How Are You Finding Mario Kart's Open World?

roy130390

@The_Nintend_Pedant People have a really hard time understanding that their taste is subjective, so don't worry about it. It's definitely annoying though.

Personally Free Roam has been fantastic. I always wanted a relaxing mode on Mario Kart to enjoy the stages. On top of that, this one included challenges and costumes to unlock so it's much better than just receiving the average practice/free mode. The map is so charming and full of details and it has been a great way to relax and take my time to enjoy the game when I'm too tired/stressed for racing.

Re: Best Rune Factory Games Of All Time

roy130390

@Arawn93 Maybe some games do it better if they separate combat from farming, but as a series that offers both and other things like crafting and cooking, it's my favorite so I wouldn't say that it's just because of the relationships. Closest is Stardew Valley and while I can appreciate the game, I still prefer RF games by a long shot. I do agree that the relationships are one of the best things about the series though.

Re: Best Rune Factory Games Of All Time

roy130390

Guardians is great, probably the second best one for me, but I wouldn't put it above Rune Factory 4. This is a cozy series for me and faster farming and automating certain things isn't something that I prefer. To me, these games are about taking your sweet time with them and slowly leveling each thing by actually doing it. It's also a bit too easy for my taste. Having said that, it's a fantastic game.

Re: What Review Score Would You Give Mario Kart World?

roy130390

10/10 for me. I don't share the sentiment about open world needing more, it's practically a much better practice mode to use between races and to experiment. It has many challenges and lots of fun details to discover. I don't care about a story mode so going directly to the gameplay, which is buttery smooth, is very satisfying and The tracks and music have been fantastic, as well as the new characters.

Re: A24 Bringing Elden Ring To The Big Screen With Ex-Machina Director

roy130390

They really need to stop making live action adaptations of everything. Elden Ring and the Souls series is something that doesn't fit that format at all... but people will get excited, it will probably be terrible but sell enough and the cycle will continue...

I know, different strokes for different folks and all, but I really don't get the need of experiencing something that is pretty much a sure thing to be inferior to the thing that you already have at your disposal.

Re: Randy Pitchford Defends Borderlands 4 Pricing Comment

roy130390

Seriously, all he has to do is shut up. I feel bad for the devs that work so hard on this game only for this individual to come and sabotage everything. I hope that people remember that there's a lot more than this guy behind the game, so while I understand not wanting to contribute to what he said about needing to pay $80 to be a true fan, it would still be nice to consider the game on some discount and to judge it for it's actual merits instead of hating it for just one guy. Unfortunately, there's no way of supporting it without giving money to him, but it's just too big of a project with so many people on it that do deserve the money for it's work to just ignore it to try to damage him. Besides, it's very likely that it would hurt any worker way more and he'll just end up in any other company and projects.

Re: Kingdom Hearts 4 Team Provides Dev Update, Shares New Screenshots

roy130390

@JR150 I used to love the series (KH1, KH2, and Chain of Memories) and at some point it became a convoluted mess and the time to wait between entries got too long. This is coming from a massive Metal Gear fan, which is also a long series but, unlike what some people say that usually have little to no experience with it, it has a story that it's easy to understand, just extensive. I can't say the same about KH though... Between the heartless, nobody, unversed, dream eaters, time travel, realms and too many characters is was just too much for me. Not to mention that the drama and intention of getting the player in the feels became annoying and a bit cringe worthy. KH3 also seemed to have flawed gameplay because of the braindead difficulty.

This, of course is just my opinion. There's lots of fans of the series so I'm sure that they'd disagree with me. Personally I enjoyed The World Ends With You much more than I ever did KH and would recommend that one over it. Nomura worked in both franchises, but he wasn't involved in TWEWY's story so maybe that's why I find it so much better.

Re: Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero Has Been Rated For Switch 2

roy130390

@yohn777 ? Why would I be waiting for another reply? Usually when people say "let's agree to disagree" it's because they don't plan to engage anymore. Also, calling you self absorbed is in no way proof of me being provoked by what you said. It's just pretty accurate for someone that keeps thinking that his opinion is the "truth" which is the actual insane thing about this conversation. Also, supposedly ending a conversation just to continue days later does give me an impression of you being triggered though.

Another insane thing is using such a flawed argument as "how many games have you programmed"? By your seriously, deeply flawed logic we can't criticize anything unless we are able to replicate the product. And not just games, people can't have opinions about the flavor of a meal, remodelations, a movie, any device or pretty much anything they can't do. It's pretty simple: I have played games all my life, from fighting games to arena fighters and I love the multiplayer aspect of them and unbalanced games simply don't last long and end up dying because of that reason and despite of the evidence supporting that I just state it as my opinion.

No one has to be a game developer to give a valid perspective. What defines the weight of an argument is the logic behind it and out of the two of us, I was the one to explain the reason why behind mine. As I mentioned, it's simply good core game design philosophy and they did try to apply it to a degree but failed by doing the team point system. Simply put: multiplayer games with exploits and unbalanced rosters will get the gameplay experience stale, repetitive and frustrating. That's literally happening with the community right now but what do I know? All you have said to justify yours is that it's an arena fighter so they are unbalanced and developers know better than me because I can't make a game.

You won't have the need to "deescalate conversations" if you do this:

1. Don't say that your opinion is the truth. Handle it as what it is, that means your perspective.

2. Stop trying to invalidate other arguments by calling them different things. It looks like a cheap way to make them lose importance. Besides, chances are, specially if your points are flawed, that the person will point out the irony and they'll do the same thing with yours.

3. Learn to deal with opinions that are different from yours. Again, out of the two of us you were the only one saying I'm wrong and you had the need to adress it to prove that. From my perspective, that looks like you got triggered but you do you. A normal reaction would be just a normal disagreement without assuring anything and just explaining your perspective.

Not trying to be rude but if you feel the need to have the last word and reply to this, by all means do but I'm done and I won't read it simply because there's no point and honestly it's exhausting that you don't see the irony in many things that you say. Telling me to "reflect" while not seeing this is proof enough for me. Consider it a "win", me getting triggered, an excuse or whatever you prefer.

On a positive note, I'm sure that regardless of anything, the game will regain life on Switch 2 for some time. I'll get it again eventually and, while I doubt that it will stay relevant for long for me, I'll finally be able to play it with some friends that are also interested on getting the Switch 2 version.

Re: Talking Point: How Can The Next Animal Crossing Improve Crafting?

roy130390

Those "QOL improvements" have never mattered to me. Animal Crossing is a relaxing game with slow pacing in which repetition is intended but people perceive it as tedious because they want to advance or accomplish things like in the average game. The game is about doing what you feel like, so when something starts feeling tedious, it's better to change activities. Crafting, fishing and all of the activities are done with an intended pace and cycle that is meant to be almost like a time for reflection and peace. I'd bet that if they have delivered those things in an update like many people asked they would have stayed relevant for about a week or less for most despite of being described as game changers.

What I'd like of the best installments is to get more of what we have. Not less functions like some suggest. More villagers on your island or whatever they do, more interactions and dialogue, more activities and more depth to the things like we already have. Things like being able to do caves and tunnels, have more levels and even small mountains, vehicles for transportation and things like that. More space to do things, but always with a process. No bulk crafting, no warp points and not stuff that breaks the immersion of a methodical, relaxing life.
