I agree Nintendolife has an unhealthy obsession with the Steam Deck. That said the people who are hating on this console just because they are Nintendo fans are equally sick!

I get a feeling all the Metroid amiibo will be reprinted, like what happened with the Zelda ones. Would make sense as it's like printing money for Nintendo with these kinds of amiibo

They should have included the amiibo really, I don’t think what’s on offer is worth $30 but I would have paid $40 more than normal game if the amiibo was in it.

There should be laws where video games become free to the public domain after 20-25 years of release. Look at games like Goldeneye which nobody will profit from anymore, what is the point of just having it hidden from the gaming public forever more? If you are a retro gamer and you buy the original games etc you aren’t likely funding the company who made them. You are funding the second hand market, or worse scalpers!

A short text explanation of the games would be nice, rather than just a list with one picture.

I’m actually having some fun playing these at the moment. I agree the offering is a little stingy but as someone who never had a nes or SNES and grew up on 3D gaming, I appreciate retro games like these.

The former Rare employees are key here! That’s a huge accomplishment getting them on board again, gives hope this could be great.

Very little confirmed other than remakes this year. Pokémon snap is already out so it seems like you included that just to make the list have another truly new game. Other than that Mario Golf is about it, surely they will announce some at e3 if not you have to wonder what on earth they have been doing past 4 years.

@SalvorHardin that's what annoys me, surely they could make a 2d Metroid fairly easily, hardly going to need the kind of budget that MP4 will have. Why not make one for the Switch? This series is so good that it spawned it's own genre but really we haven't had a new 2d one since Fusion!

Taking advantage of poor boss design is not cheating. If you have not modded a game in any way or used save states to help you, the developer made the game this way and you beat it fair and square!

The trilogy on switch would be amazing, disappointed this hasn't happened yet with so many rumours. It's a no brainer at this point as MP4 is clearly 2022 at the earliest!

9/10 lol about a 6 or 7 let's be honest. It's nice to play it but it's the type of game most people will play max 1-2 hours without buying the extras it's already got dull for me after 3 or 4 attempts.

Makes you wonder why more 3rd parties aren’t busting a gut to get quality games on switch.

It would also be nice if their were laws around franchises. Like if you don’t release a game from said franchise in 10 years someone else can use it. I know this would never happen but it sickens me to see all the Rareware IP being wasted as well as things like F-Zero
