Ahead of their upcoming release, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl have now been rated in Australia.
Remakes of Nintendo DS hits Pokémon Diamond & Pearl and one of Nintendo Switch's biggest releases for this year's holiday season, Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl are set to launch on 19th November. The two titles will transport Pokémon fans back to the Sinnoh region along with Pokémon Legends: Arceus – a new style of Pokémon game that launches just a couple of months later.
The official Australian classification came in just yesterday, with the games being given an expected PG rating. Viewable here, the rating cites "mild violence and online interactivity" as the reasoning behind that classification.
It's been a while since we were last treated to any new information on the upcoming titles – in fact, the last time Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl hit the news was thanks to the Switch OLED trailer, which appeared to show some new and improved gameplay. Perhaps a Pokémon Presents showcase is in the works as we speak?
Are you looking forward to these upcoming Pokémon titles? Let us know if you'll be checking them out this November with a comment.

Still cautiously optimistic... but I'm going to wait for some more game footage and reviews either way before I purchase. They've been disappointing a bit too much with the last few generations for me, so.
Hopefully we get a new trailer for BDSP and LA soon, it's been 5 1/2 months since announcement and we haven't got anything since then (except that short footage in the Switch OLED trailer)
You know it's been a slow summer when 3 months is 'near'
@Dringo Summers are always slow.
Isn't it strange that we haven't seen a great deal of promotion for a major Pokémon title?
Usually there's a bunch of trailers showing off new features up to the release date, often ones that spoil surprises in the game and ultimately lead you with little to discover for yourself.
Honestly, I'm getting quite nervous about the quality of this game since the promotion for it is basically non-existent... usually advertising from a big company is bare boned when you try to hide something
Is anyone expecting this to be any good? I think the low expectations aren’t a bad thing
@RupeeClock Probably because there won't be a lot of new stuff in this game, so there's hardly anything to announce. Legends Arceus on the other hand...
they tell us so little about upcoming pokemon games nowadays, with sun and moon we knew 80% of the game's content before release
@RupeeClock
It’s a remake 🤷🏻♂️
I just hope they will allow us to catch Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus in the game now.
I've lost all hype for any Pokemon games. Just been a bunch of disappointment for years. Most games that have been around as long have done a much better job at developing new mechanics and improving player experiences while appealing to much wider audiences. Even the new Pokemon Arceus looks as much of a copy of BOTW as Genshin Impact did on first impression. Gamefreak lacks imagination
@FatWormBlowsASparky
Yes, so were Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
That game had a TON of marketing material, like revealing every new mega evolution before the game's launch.
the lack of information regarding Pokémon Legend Arceus and the remakes of Diamond e Pearl is concering, given the game is Switch holiday title.
@Giancarlothomaz,
They will not put out info about the new title when these remakes are imminent, could be wrong though.
@NorseGamerTommy What about Manaphy?
Interesting how at one point, users complained that TPC divulged too much info, especially back in the Sun/Moon days. Now there's too little? Most fans know what to expect with these remakes, so there isn't much ground to cover. I suspect we'll see a new trailer before long however. Still plenty of time until November.
I'm a believer in holding a company accountable when it's due, but "too much" or "too little" information seems to be an absurd complaint to a point. "Too little" in my book would be just a teaser with the logos and five seconds of footage.
Hopefully we get more news on both or either games sooner rather than later. It's been a long time since they were announced.
I can't do mild violence. If Daisy can't say Whatever, I don't think the Pokémon should smash each other to pieces.
@sanderev Not this slow. September is also slow. Slooooow
@moodycat really? It's over 100 days till release and they are, at the end of the day, remakes.
Promotion for holiday titles usually kicks into gear once the summer is fully out of the way, I'm sure we will see more in September. Whether actually seeing more is a good or bad thing is another matter, I wish more titles were released with far less given away.
well, rip game corner(again)
odds of the battle frontier being in it have decreased as well
@Dringo September isn't slow. With WarioWare coming on the 10th.
Also on the Wii U we went multiple months without any new games. Now on the Switch there are multiple games per month, and at least one first party. Well except this august.
@RupeeClock Remakes usually have less fanfare.
@sanderev It is a very weak year all round for the games business with a 42% drop (currently) in games set for release.
@sanderev
Depends on which kind of remakes. Activision put a lot of promotion into the remakes of Crash, Spyro, and CTR.
I hope the lack of marketing means they're busy completely overhauling it to look like something worth $60, but who am I kidding, they make so much with Go that they probably don't give a Hoothoot anymore. Not expecting anything more than Sword/Shield quality from Arceus either. Their complacency is insulting.
I'm sure marketing will ramp up closer to release just like with SS HD and Mario Golf as recent examples. Then will the complaints be that there's too much about the game being shown? 🙃
I wonder how the world would be if back in the late 90s Iwata never formed The Pokemon Company and Nintendo instead bought out Game Freak and Creatures...
@Dringo Well yeah, with a pandemic and all. It's not really that strange. But still, Nintendo is doing nicely. Especially compared to Sony and MS.
Looking forward to revisiting the sinnoh region and hopefully contests are still in the game
For the arceus legends game I can bet my house it will be delayed
I'm still on the fence with these remakes. They just don't grab me from what I've seen so far and I already own Platinum on DS.
