@KnightRider666 I agree, Hot Pursuit on the PS2 was a masterpiece and by far the best NFS game. Although this one is the 3rd best (after the PS2 Most Wanted)
@MrBlacky I buy a game to play and enjoy once it's a genre I like. I don't buy a game just because its a Nintendo First-Party game. Last first party-game I bought was Animal Crossing (loved it). And I will buy Pikmin 3 Deluxe.
Seems like they just took parts from the Japanese direct, it was never really meant to be a proper Europe/America direct. Explains a lot. Nothing here interests me, except Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin.
@AndyRogan sounds like I might like it. I hate that turn based xp battle stuff, but this does sound a bit different. I might be tempted, sure there's nothing else out!
Even as a massive fan of the Burnout series (Takedown is my favorite game ever) I was never a fan of Paradise. But I bought it again on Switch in the hope good sales would mean they'd port over some of the older games. Having spent more time than ever now with Paradise I can say yes it is enjoyable, but flawed. It's very samey, racing the same courses over and over. And you crash into objects you had no chance of seeing in time, there's an unfairness to it that's not present in the other games, it's frustrating. And part of this is because the default behind car view is just too low down to see obstacles ahead as you speed down the road at 200km an hour. A few quality of life improvements could have made this Paradise remaster even better, as it stands its a very good game but the weakest in the series.
My original switch suffered from it, my nieces switch had it and my nephews switch was unplayable due to drift. It's a major problem which I don't understand why Nintendo hasn't owned up to earlier and properly offered a solution or repair service. I fixed them all myself with an earbud and isopropyl alcohol, this is the best solution, plenty of information on the internet about this (Nintendrew has a good video on it).
I have this but it didn't grip me(pun intended), because I found the cornering mechanics off. For an arcade racer there was not much drifting involved, some of the corners were just a pain. If this patch included proper drift mechanics this game would be brilliant.
@superguy123 for an arcade racing fan like me it's great news. I don't like rpgs/jrpgs with turn based combat, so there hasn't been much for me to play from Nintendo lately (bar Animal Crossing). I'm grateful for EA right now, although the Sims 4 would have been great to see.
As a massive fan of arcade games, I'm delighted Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit is hopefully getting a port to Switch, it's one
of the best NFS games, another banger from Criterion.
@tourjeff yes it was a big budget Disney game. Work had already begun on a sequel but the dissapointing sales(due to poor marketing) meant the sequel was axed. Oh what could have been, the original is a masterpiece, the closest you'll get to being in a thrilling action movie. It's Michael Bay- The Game.
@tourjeff Split/Second is the greatest arcade racer ever alongside Burnout 3. I'd kill to see both ported to the Switch.
I've been playing this, for hours on handheld mode, I don't find it 'blurry'. It's a great port, but I agree the could have been some quality of life updates; offering a high up car view comes to mind.
@jaymacx Sorry no doesn't look like you can change any of the controls (bar the Y axis to look). I havent played it long enough to miss analogue sticks, but in an arcade racer like this doubt it's a problem, it's not a game that needs finesse.
I downloaded it, looks great in handheld mode, silky smooth 60fps. But I only had time to play it for half an hour before work. The price was painful, especially as I own it on PS4. But Burnout is my favourite game series so it was impossible to not double dip.

@Sgt-Jack-V have you tried Gunlord X? It's a great Turrican wannabe.
Re: 13 More Games Have Just Been Confirmed For Sega's Astro City Mini Console
This looks brilliant. But my main concern is the LCD Screen could be a bit bigger, thats a big bezel around it.

Bought Raji, will fire it up later.
Re: Nintendo Indie World Showcase Announced For Tuesday 18th August
@Anti-Matter Yes half of indie games seem to be metroidvania 8/16 bit games, zero creativity.

Kinda shows how Switch owners were starved for Nintendo releases. Anything first-party is a sure fire hit nowadays.

A Mario dolls house, amazing!!!

Creaks is brilliant!!
Re: Community: What Do You Think Of Lego Super Mario, Then?
They look like Duplo, not normal Lego. Even as a kid I wouldn't want these silly looking things, I'd want proper Mario mini-figures.
Re: Analogue Pocket Delayed Until Next Year, But There's Some Good News, Too
Very tempted, looks amazing. I wonder if the latest Chinese Handheld Makers will copy the design before the Analogue Pocket even comes out.

Re: Online Retailer Lists Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit For Nintendo Switch
@JayJ Hot Pursuit 2 on PlayStation 2 is a masterpiece, the greatest NFS game and one of the greatest racers ever (along with Burnout 3).
Re: Online Retailer Lists Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit For Nintendo Switch
This is great news, I loved this on PS3. But I never finished it so this is a day 1 purchase for me.
