Yesterday's Nintendo Direct Mini had a runtime of about eight minutes, but did you know the Japanese video went for more than 12 minutes? It filled in this extra time with a number of additional games, and one of them happened to be the beautiful-looking action, crafting and farming title, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin.

Although it wasn't shown in the western broadcast, Nintendo of America's Twitter account has confirmed it will be released on 10th November this year. It will arrive in Europe on the 20th of November. No reason was provided as to why it was excluded from the local partner showcase.

As shown in the Japanese trailer (above), there'll be a special edition of this game released alongside a standard copy. This appears to be a different offering to the 'Divine Edition' featured on the XSEED Games website locally, which is now available for pre-order.

Here's a bit about this upcoming Switch release, along with some screenshots from the Nintendo website:

Developed by Edelweiss, the two-man team behind acclaimed indie darling Astebreed, Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin combines side-scrolling action with deep crafting and farming simulation. Players take on the role of Sakuna, a spoiled harvest goddess banished to a dangerous island with a group of outcast humans. As she explores the beautiful yet forbidding environments of the island, she will also find a home in a mountain village, proving herself worthy of her title by harvesting rice and bettering the lives of humanity.
