Re: Xenon Racer To Receive Three Free Content Updates

@Shiryu Yes this is unfortunately the case, downscaled rubbish. We need to see a racer built from the ground up for the Switch, but it doesn't look like we'll be getting that anytime soon. Which is bizarre considering the Switch sales and how well games sell on it. I'd kill for even ports of old PS3 racers. Yes 90's Arcade Racer looked great, but the rumour was it was killed by the publisher as Sega threatened legal action.

@Shiryu I've mentioned this before, but I'd like to see the Switch run Need for Speed U: Most Wanted as good as the Wii U. Because no racers we've seen so far have come close in performance. (besides RMX but that's not as graphically intense as NFSMW)

@Primarina Outrun is 33 years old, Top Gear is 27 years old. Horizon chase is a modern re-telling of an old style of racer, it's a retro racer, not an arcade racer of recent times.

Yes Grid: Autosport is the only decent looking arcade racer coming out. Besides Virtua Racing, my favorite old arcade game ever.

@Shiryu I completely agree with you. It's like we're regressing when it comes to performance in arcade racers nowadays. How the hell can a PS4 not run Dangerous Driving at 60fps? The PS3 era was the pinnacle of arcade racers, both great graphics and great performance.

@Primarina Horizon Chase is a souped up Amiga racer, not a true arcade racer. I love it but it's not a true racer.

Re: GRIP: Combat Racing Receives Huge Post-Launch Content Drop

It’s a good game, I like it. But it could be great. It reminds me more of the Motorstorm games than Rollcage, you never feel you have full control of your vehicle as you hurtle down the track. Sometimes it’s hard to see oncoming obstacles(like directional barriers) which will put you to a dead stop. When the game was released I read the developers were going to fix the twitchy controls, I wonder has this happened?

Re: Feature: The Best Racing Games On Nintendo Switch

As many have said above, it’s slim pickings for a race fan and switch owner. I also think V-Rally 4 is under-rated, it’s an enjoyable and tough rally game.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed Sonic Racing, GRID Autosport and Crash Team Racing turn out to be as good as they should be, after the disappointment of both Gear Club games. Also having the sublime Virtua Racing (my favorite arcade game) coming is an huge added bonus.

It was bad judgement of the developers to start the game on the worst (and foggiest) looking level. After NL life posted that scaremongering article before release it influenced a lot of readers to cancel their pre-orders. I was also put off, having loved the series on my Xbox 360, but after reading NL actual review I bought the game. Absolutely love it, so much fun, the graphics are fine and the lack of analogue triggers hasn’t affected my gameplay (I’ve got gold in all events so far).

Re: Mario Kart Tour Has Been Delayed Until Summer 2019

Nintendo needs to start releasing some remastered titles to fill their barren schedule on Switch (i.e. Metroid Trilogy, Mario Galaxy's). Pokemon and Animal Crossing aren't 100% confirmed ready for this year (I have no interest in either anyway). There's just less games being released in this hi-def era because they take years to make. So fill the gaps with easy remasters. So far all I'm looking forward to this year from Nintendo is Yoshi and Luigi's Mansion.

Re: Nintendo Adds Trio Of Games To Switch Online NES Library Next Week

@Realnoize I agree on everything you said. I really don’t understand why they dropped the VC for this half-assed rubbish. Keep online payments seperate from VC, if people want to play online let them pay $15 a year, if people want to buy MARIO 64 let them pay $8 for it. They’ll keep the fans happy and actually make way more money (which they like because they are very greedy). But no, Nintendo never seem to listen to fans or have much common sense in these areas.
Even if they add SNES OR N64 games to this online service it still won’t excite me as you never own the game. But just having old dated NES games available is lazy and mean, we probably all own a NES classic mini, so what’s the point?!?
