Because the original All Stars had a perfect line-up already, I'd pick games released afterwards. If it was just 3 games then: 64, Sunshine and Galaxy. But as I see Galaxy 2 like a continuum, maybe include it as well. But then Nintendo should also release a collection named Super Mario Small Stars, that could include Mario land 1,2 and 3D land. And while we're a it, Super Mario New Stars for all the Mario games named 'New'. But the original All Stars could also see a re-release too, and maybe Yoshi deserves a collection on his own too? How about a Paper Mario-collection? Mario & Luigi compilation?
Younger I had a friend who owned 1 and 2 and we played the heck out of them. Loved them and grew up liking pop-punk and punk rock music. Never got the games for myself tho and I kinda skipped 3 and 4 (those are considered good, right?). The only one besides 1 and 2 I really played was underground 2 remix on PSP that I got with a used console. I really played that one and liked it, don't remember if it had good controls etc. I since sold it with the PSP long ago. As far as I know not many of the newer ones are considered all that good. I still think this series deserves a great game after these years. In my opinion it doesn't need to be ultra realistic as long as it controls well and is fun to play. The game could lean towards the old arcadey-style if it makes it fun to play.
More gens we get, the forgettable those designs (and names) go. Thats why GF should have added less mons each game and focus on making the games bigger, open and more exploreable. No one can remember 800 different names on pokemon that start to look like past gen ones. Thats why ppl remember the first ones they saw. And maybe the majority of us started with red n blue.
I want to try the game before I say anything about it, how good or bad it will be. I know people were disappointed by the graphics but I think they look nice. Yes the series has looked pretty much the same all these years, the 3DS games weren't even full 3D. But for me, Pokemon was never about the realistic graphics. It was the compelling gameplay. What I really got a bit bored of was the fact it was always the same gameplay-wise. Go to this gym, get that HM to progress, catch 'em ALL FREAKIN THOUSAND. I mean who really has the time and energy to go trough all the hoops to catch/trade/evolve all the thousand mons? I know I don't, but I would like to. Because I like to FINISH my games. Which brings me to my next point: I thin it's good the game doesn't have all available Pokemon. Makes it less like a chore to start when you know you can actually play and explore instead of thinking how to trade all the missing 700 species. It's also nice we don't have all the old ones because I'd just end up using only the gen 1-3 Pokemon because I remember the names, attacks and stats. This way I can learn to love the newer Pokemon as well. Wanting to get all the old ones here is just wanting to stick to the nostalgia (in my opinion) which is kinda funny - people complain about the games not being innovative but then they don't really want anything new. Anyway I feel like the games are gonna be so great, have tons of interesting new stuff and gonna look super nice too (judging by pics and trailers we've gotten).
If it's comfortable, has good buttons and the build quality is solid then I might want one. I love everything see trough, brings me back to my childhood!
Physical stuff keeps getting more pointless. A box for a game serves a purpose: has nice visuals and holds a manual and the game cart/disc. A box with boring art and no manual OR cart doesn't have any value. To me at least. I unerstand some people want stuff to look and display. But a box for a game you can open and literally has a slot for a cart but it's empty. Why?
Everyone interested in collecting these old games are the ones who originally played them as a kid but couldn't afford them all or sold their collection as they got older. Those people are adults now and have gotten some disposable income to spend at games. As time passes by, the only ones interested to buy this guy's collection are his peers. The people from the same generation. And when that generation dies, no average person wants to buy collections like these. They don't have the nostalgia for the games that mostly are pretty poor in even today's standards. So collections like these might end up in a museum and those who are interested can go and see the boxes, learn about the history. But I don't think that many really even wants to play those games.
I haven't experienced any issues with my only set of joycons on my old switch I got october 2018. That said I'll wait for some time before buying a switch lite (if I even get one) just to see how those things stand heavy gaming. If they have something that breaks easily I'm sure Nintendo has to fix them and maybe release a better model too.
@Branovices I got a switch october 2018 and I've played a lot on handheld mode with zero issues. Seems weird how big issue the drifting is supposed to be when you yourself have encountered none of it. Now that I said it my joycons might start to drift soon haha.
The cover is just ugly and why not include FFIX too? For the cover art, just a white backround with the game logos would have been much better. Maybe simplify it just by saying Final Fantasy on the front and then the numbered game logos on the back. And then put all the other graphics on the backside so it would show on the inside of the case.
I can't wait for tomorrow even though I'm not completely sure if I'll be picking up a copy. I'm still having a debate inside my head whether I think it's too expensive or not. I love the game and would like to experience it soon but I could always pop the original cart on my gba(sp) or play it on the 3DS VC and wait for a price drop. But then again, I'm too exited for the new artstyle. One thing bothering me is how can a game of this sort have framerate issues? We all know the switch is not a powerhouse like a fancy gaming PC or xonex/ps4pro. But this game doesn't look like it needs that much horsepower to run well. Nintendo themselves got BOTW run on switch well and Panic Button did some stuff to get Wolfenstein on the platform, how come this game has performance issues?
I think the Japanese cover is the best of the bunch. They are all nice but it's those little things. I don't like how on the NA cover the black logo takes up like a third of the space. And the EU cover just blocks half of everything and Snake's face is a bit too red. Maybe he's hot from all the sneaking around yho.
I love the Cube, always had and always will. I got a PS2 almost at launch in Finland. And as much I loved my PS2 I just had to get a GC too. My parents wouldn't let me use my own money and buy a second console. I begged for it like a half a year and then the prices dropped (quite soon actually) and I got a permission to buy a Gamecube, brand new from gamestop for 99 euros. I remember it like it happened just last week. Great memories. My first games were Mario sunshine and Zelda wind waker that I bought with the console (didn't tell my parents I bought TWO games haha).
@Bunkerneath I'm with you when it comes to the lack of protection. But to me it screams more like "look I have a silly pokemon-purse with pokemon stickers and monopoly money on it" .
Link's awakening DX was the first Zelda I ever played and that's why I consider it my favourite of the series. I don't think the pricing is right at all though. It should be a 30-40 euro game max as compared to some other games that cost 60 but have tons more stuff to do. None the less I'm waiting to get my hands on the remake and I might have to get it day one 60 euros or not.
I’m liking the game already! I personally dont need a thousand pokemon to collect in one game. Just gimme the best of the old ones and some new species. And then some other stuff to do. Catching, evolving and repeatinh gets kinda old soon if theres nothing more. And no, I’m not into stats, IV:s or competitive play.
Spyro 1 and two are absolute gems and the third one is great too. I didn’t have the third as a kid so I guess that’s why I don’t like it as much. I do think spyro controls a bit stiff especially when you need to do tight turns and quick stops. But it’s just something to get used to.
But I might pass this version. I have the originals on PS1 and the PS4 remaster and I thats enough for me. I also bought the originals digitally so I can use my vita when I want some handheld spyro. Another thing making me not buy this version is the forced download. It’s ok if I want to go digital but having a cart and then a huge download. They should have gone with a bigger cart and make the game a bit more expensive in my opinion.
@Bunkerneath I also thought this meant it will have a web browser. Not that I really need one in the switch that much. I like how it plays games and (usually) does it very well. It would be handy if switch had a web browser so you could look up some guides when you play. But it still would need an internet connection when you're outside enjoying the handheld fun. And we all have smartphones after all don't we?
@yuwarite you said it. If I bought a switch lite I’d just get a regular case to put the device which I’d throw in my backpack anyway. Switch would get more protection and I wouldn’t have to deal with a awkward flap when gaming.

Kids these days can make a huge bill to their parents because they don't understand how the micro-transactions work. That makes those angry parents blame Nintendo and the company needs to solve issues of returning money to the parents. Nintendo would like to make money from mobile games just as much they like to do so from ports and remasters of old games. Still I'd rather pay 60 for a remake than anything pay to win-related. I wish Nintendo made a quality mobile Mario game and slapped a pricetag on it. Now micro-transactions or pay to win-crap.
I'm ok with minor graphical improvements. I mean if they wanted to make it look like a 2019 3D-game should then they'd have to make everything again from ground up. I think the EU has the best composition and placement except that teal empty stripe on the left. Also, why teal? The US has the best backround being almost all black. BUT the japanese box has the best colors on the picture even though I think those in the US and EU box give more of the impression of speed. I also like the colored buttons on the snes controller more than those on the US one, so points on EU and JP cover for those. I also think the picture works better landscape. So overall maybe it's the US one but as the JP picture is the best, I might pick it up if I had all three in front of me.
@sixrings I hope the game sells poorly at launch and Nintendo gets the fact that a mere graphical update for a gameboy game does not jutstify a 60 dollar price tag. But I'm afraid if the game doesn't do well Nintendo just thinks people didn't want it and calls it a day.
