A co-op mode would be nice. Not like the game is too harso begin with but for kids might it might seem like a grand adventure they can’t go on alone. I remember being like 9 and playing this with my older cousin watching ovet my shoulder, Helsingin me with the puzzles etc. I don’t think they can justify a premium 60 price tag on this tho. Not even if they add any multiplayer. It needs additional content even to cost 40. Also, will it be digital only or physical too? Might determine the price.
First Zelda I ever played was the DX version on my then new gameboy color. I Still think this is one of the best zelda-games ever. I'm so going to get this the very second it's available!
I don't think I'll get it right away. I have played the original on PS1 so many times and I have some other games (including RPG:s) to finish. I think I'll be a cheapo and wait for a sale. Still, great to have FFIX and VII on a Nintendo console and the ability to play them on the go. Even tho the PSP and Vita could do it but those loading times on the original IX seem like forever on todays standards.
Looks nice and I bet it feels that too. And while I think it is worth every penny (especially when you get the taco too) I don't think I need this 119 much. I usually carry a backpack and I own a perfectly fine & durable switch case already. But for someone who needs a sling bag like this, appreciates quality and is willing to pay for it.
@ChibiNinja Oh yeah, definitely! Also online would be nice, trading and battling. But still for me the most important thing would be a solid single player campaing.
I would LOVE another Pokemon TGC game, for the switch, 3ds or even mobile. I played the crap out of the first one back when I was a kid and later some of that second one too (there was a translated rom..). But just a game without any micro transaction-stuff.. If it was for the switch then it could be digital only and didn't need too much on the graphics side. Nintendo could even just pull out the gameboy ones on switch, slap a 10€ price tag on and call it a day. Would be day one for me.
@Justifier I wish that too! I had the PS2 originals but rarely touched X2. I also have the PS4 versions and have never played X2 on that one. I just want the X on the switch.
@AlexSora89 Yes because zelda-games are on Nintendo consoles, and gamers who like zelda will buy a Nintendo console. The ones who don't care for zelda, might get a Sony or MS console. Makes sense to release zelda-like games on consoles that have potential players.
Am I the only one here who doesn't like the PS2-era graphics that much? This one looks decent but still I'd prefer something more polished. The visuals don't necessary make or break a game but still they matter to me making something more appealing to play. With so many RPGs at the moment I'm not gonna get this right away but might add it to the backlog if it goes on sale.
If I go digital then I’ll go all in. So no box then. If I want physical then I want all the bells and whistles. I see how someone might want a box with a digital code. But for me it’s pointless.
@smashboy2000 I also think the switch game boxes are just lovely, but on the console I like digital games. Just because it’s easier to play different games and because most of them are small on size so i can fit tens of games on my 128gig sd. On comparison the PS4 boxes arent that nice to look at and the plastic feels more flimsy and cheap. And most games recuire to install anyway, so I’m getting most of my playstation games digitally. But on the switch it is a real dilemma!
Not gonna get it, 60 is a bit steep for an old game that has so little new content etc. This game (including the Luigi DLC) is well worth the price cos it has plenty to offer. But as for me, I already own te game on wii u, including Luigi U. I wish Nintendo had some sort of program where people who already have an older relese could get a discount for double dipping. Anyway, I rarely buy "new" games anyway because I have such a long backlog. I'll usually wait for the pricedrop or a sale and grab the games then. So I might get this one for 30 something euros if that ever happens.
I finished the first one, grinded all characters and such. The first half of the game was fantastic but the repeatitiveness of the second half did kinda make it a bit boring. I have yet to play End Layer even tho I have it on my shelf (that damn long backlog). I also have Octopath Traveler to experience, I might get it from the sale it's on right now. I liked the demo version so I have high hopes. For me personally the 3DS Bravely games don't need a remake/remaster on the switch. Just make the third one and release it on the switch. If they do re-release the old ones I think I'll pass on those. But if there's gonna be a new game (or a second Octopath game) then count me in.
I think it's a bit off to have an accessory to look like a game that doesn't even support it. I wish Nintendo would add a pro-controller support on the game. I mean the controller has motion on it, it could work the same way as handheld-mode switch. It's annoying to play pokemon let's go docked if one doesn't want to detach joycons. The pokeball must be selected from the menu that needs the switch to be taken off the dock.
@IKAY I love the SNES-style colored buttons. Maybe it's the fact that I never had a SNES growing up (megadrive-guy here). I just don't think the colored buttons work well with a clear shell. I'd prefer them to be black then. Also the brown and yellow grips look kinda out of place with that clear shell in my opinion. @Prizm The purple buttons are nice too, maybe a little more mature and less toyish than the colored ones. Still I prefer the multicolor ones. I don't know why but with Nintendo I can stand things to look somewhat childish. But with companies like Sony I want stuff to have that smartphone like premium look.
@wazlon Sometimes I wonder do they even think what people want and are willing to pay for. I mean, people want GBA and DS games digitally on 3DS. Nintendo instead gives us all those 30 years old, same boring NES super mario-games on the switch. I do love mario bros 1-3 and zelda and all, but I think I've played enough of them already on dozens of platforms.
@Rhaoulos Even back when the N64 was current gen I would see broken analog sticks on controllers that were on cruise ships's child play rooms But yeah if one is an adult and doesn't play mario party..
As long as all new software is compatible with the old and all new hardware can play the existing games I think it's fine whatever revisions they come up with.
If I didn't own both DS zelda games as physical copies I might get those. But I still wonder why those games are on the WiiU eshop and not on the 3DS one. It would make more sense (to me at least) to play them on a 3DS. Nintendo could have released the games on for both systems' eshops and let people decide if they want to have them on a portabe or on the big screen.
@gaga64 I wonder why so many gb form consoles/mods that are meant to play gba games use round shoulder buttons. Like when did any official handheld or even controller have round shoulder buttons? Maybe the holes are easier to drill for round ones tho.
Wow this looks awesome as heck! The only think I find unappealing (besides the price ofc but I know it’s custom made so it’s justified) is the fact that gb and gbc carts stick halfway out. It’s the only thing not making an sp-101 or a modded agb-101 a perfect way to play all gameboy games. If he could just mod the case so gb carts would not stick out but that hole for carts was wider. That way gba carts could fit too. THEN this would be the ultimate gameboy.
I have kept myself from buying this on PS4 (only borrowed it and almost completed) as I’m waiting for the switch version. I hope this version would include those 3DS-graphics too. They would be awesome. Anyhow it’s an awesome game and I’m definitely going to buy and replay it on switch!
Also the batterylife on such multipurpose devices would have to be enough so one could go a full day without a charge. The best battery life on smartphones these can barely last a day on heavy use of web, social media, audio & video playback and streaming. Add some bluetooth headphones and use gps. A charge gets you barely a day. To do some gaming on the same device the battery should be double or even triple the size. No one wants their phone to die in the middle of the day.
No matter how good performance, hardware, controllers or batterylife, etc anyone gets out a ”gaming” smartphone it still needs quality software to compete with the likes of switch. When big AAA releases are seen in these devices then we might expect the gaming smartphone to be the successor to the handheld gaming console. Nintendo could make a gaming smartphone with their own stuff and sell like crazy. Sony could also make such move, in fact they have tried it. They just didn’t support it properly. As they didn’t support Vita either.
I wish they just made an improved pokewalker. New tech, new features. That pokeball plus for the let’s go might be something if connects to the regular pokemon go too as rumoured.
For me the foldable design of a handheld was never a reason to just toss the device into my backpack etc. I don´t want to damage the screen or the buttons but the shell either. That´s why I always buy a case for my handhelds, foldable or not. So no, I don´t think the switch would have been ”better” that way. DS and 3DS kinda needed the fold because of the two screens.
I don’t think a new version of the device will give Nintendo that more sales or keep up the momentum. I also don’t think the switch really needs a revision. What Nintendo needs now is better online experience with in-game-voice chat and getting rid of those old fashioned friend code-things. They might as well make people send the codes as letters and force people do game-chat vai phone calls. Also they need to make the online-service more desirable. Adding more games from varied platforms (snes, gba, gc) and other reasons for people to actually want a switch and the service (like discounted prices for digital games). And the last thing: they need more and more quality games that no other companies have. That way more people want to own a switch. Maybe add some social media and other services besides games too (like youtube, netflix, etc).
If they do make a revision, I would not necessary want to see a more beefier machine as it might separate the old and the new consoles and the software. Also the screen is large and bright enough as it it. A better battery life would be nice, maybe trying to get like 8-10 house of handheld zelda-time? Bigger joycons with same rails so they’d fit to the old switch too. And maybe some joycons that have a real D-pad. The kickstand could use some improvement too, and maybe bump up the storage up to at least 64gb so any single game would actually fit digitally. If it’s gonna be a switch mini (liking the idea) then make it smaller, ditch the joycons but make it so normal joycons and pro controllers can connect, lose the dock but make the system docable and allow people to share ther games & stuff between the two consoles. One to game at home (docked or handheld) and the other to take on the go.
Back in the day I used my psp as a media player because I had no other way to watch tv-shows (on the go) I cough totally legally acuired from the internet. I did put some mp3-files on there too. And while I think it’s cool to nerd out on all the features a device has I’d still rather use a dedicated one for the job. A smartphone is only good for casual stuff, same goes for tablets. And both of those kinda suck at games. I’d rather keep switch as a gaming machine only.
Yeah, I’m in! I used to play some bust-a-move game on psone and then some old mobile phone version too on a Sony Ericsson k750i 😁 These are great when you want to chill and play some game but are not in the mood to sink hours and hours. The question that some asked: wich one? I don’t think I need both so whoever played them could say if one is better than the other?
When nes games were brought for the Wii, it was the first time those classics were available to be enjoyed on a modern console. And when Nintendo brought virtual console to the 3DS it was the first time those games were available to be played handheld (besides those GBA-ports). But now that we have so many official ways to play NES-games, I don’t get that exited. Cos, you know, i already can play those games on a modern tv with a modern console, or take them with me when I travel or want to play laying on the bed. There simply is not real need for NES-games on the switch. Nintendo should focus on titles that never got any other way to play them than the old original hardware / are rare and expensive.
Actually I don’t even really care for these. Even if they would work on their own, have more buttons and all the bells & whistles joy cons have. It’s 2018 and that nes controller ain’t even that comfortable. Yeah it’s cool looking and has tons of nostalgia. But I’d rather play with a pro controller. So Nintendo can make what ever gimmicky novelty overpriced stuff they want cos they are not necessary for anyone. Another thing I personally don’t need is a virtual console where I need to pay for the same marios and zeldas I’ve already paid for like three times before. I’m fine getting some retro stuff for a fixed price. I struggle to have time for new releases as I speak (write) so why would I want tens of old games to play again on a different system?
Can you even charge them without sliding them to the switch? I wouldn’t want to be constantly putting them on and taking them off if they only work detached. They were kind of novelty to begin with but this info made them pointless.
@wazlon Mine too! I remember when I got to buy a gameboy color and saw the zelda screenshots on the box. I didn’t know what game it was but I knew i needed to have it. So maybe because it was the first zelda experience coupled with the high expectations from those screenshots, or just the fact that it’s a wonderful game, it remains my favourite of the series.
These bundles with special switches are nice but Nintendo should cater us ”already own a regular switch and don’t need/want another/different looking one”-kinda people. Give us joy cons, separate back plates and docks.
While I think it is the best zelda game because of all the content and the huge world, it still might not be as much as an impact as OOT was when it was released. I did not play it back then as I had a Playstation, and while OOT is a good game I don’t think it’s THAT good. And my personal favourite zelda game ever is link’s awakening.
It’s 2018 and the 1,5 year old switch still does not support folders or moving files from internal memory to external and back. I mean what the actual fudge Nintendo? My first Nokia symbian phone from early 2000 with like 50-60mb of internal memory, coupled with a 64mb memory card could do that. Straight. Out. Of. The. Box.
I like those joy cons alot! The console itself ain’t bad either, just useless cos I don’t keep eyeing my switch, I look mostly whats on the screen. I also don’t need another switch but I could get me some of these joy cons if they sell them on their own.

Re: Wireless NES Controllers Won't Work With Other Games On Nintendo Switch
@Captain_Gonru I don’t own one either. They should if they fit on the switch itself 🤔
Re: Wireless NES Controllers Won't Work With Other Games On Nintendo Switch
Can you even charge them without sliding them to the switch? I wouldn’t want to be constantly putting them on and taking them off if they only work detached.
They were kind of novelty to begin with but this info made them pointless.
Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Becomes Best-Selling 3D Zelda Game In Japan
@wazlon Mine too! I remember when I got to buy a gameboy color and saw the zelda screenshots on the box. I didn’t know what game it was but I knew i needed to have it.
So maybe because it was the first zelda experience coupled with the high expectations from those screenshots, or just the fact that it’s a wonderful game, it remains my favourite of the series.
Re: Rumour: The "Leaked" Smash Bros. Edition Switch Console Might Be Real After All
These bundles with special switches are nice but Nintendo should cater us ”already own a regular switch and don’t need/want another/different looking one”-kinda people.
Give us joy cons, separate back plates and docks.
Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Becomes Best-Selling 3D Zelda Game In Japan
While I think it is the best zelda game because of all the content and the huge world, it still might not be as much as an impact as OOT was when it was released. I did not play it back then as I had a Playstation, and while OOT is a good game I don’t think it’s THAT good. And my personal favourite zelda game ever is link’s awakening.
Re: Guide: The Best Micro SD Cards For Nintendo Switch
It’s 2018 and the 1,5 year old switch still does not support folders or moving files from internal memory to external and back. I mean what the actual fudge Nintendo? My first Nokia symbian phone from early 2000 with like 50-60mb of internal memory, coupled with a 64mb memory card could do that. Straight. Out. Of. The. Box.
Re: Two Limited Edition Pokémon Let's Go Switch Consoles Arrive This November
I like those joy cons alot! The console itself ain’t bad either, just useless cos I don’t keep eyeing my switch, I look mostly whats on the screen.
I also don’t need another switch but I could get me some of these joy cons if they sell them on their own.
