The switch mini should have a smaller screen to make it even more portable than this prototype. But it should be dockable and have detachable joycons. Maybe the joycons could be smaller too but have the same size rails as the OG one. That way one COULD attach the bigger joycons to the smaller switch, even though it would look a bit silly.
@Ogbert Even with clamshell consoles and devices I still use a case because I don't want them to scratch in my backpack. But if you only care about the screen not getting damage then it would be a solution to have a clamshell switch. For me, the design is good as it is.
@RodSD64 Yeah I mean toss in all the other colors of the rainbow. Should not be even a task. But some people would still prefer more graphical themes so it would be nice to have the option for those too.
Maybe they don't make more games and stop the production of consoles too (in a year or too maybe). But for me there's still loads of 3DS games I haven't even touched. Heck, I even got DS games I want to play but have not even bought yet.
Maybe he liked the chair and it felt comfortable to sit. I mean if I like a chair, I'm not gonna rush out buying newer and/or more expensive models just because I have the money. Not that I would have money to even buy a chair that costs a thousand.
@Yoshinator I have been hoping for folder as long as I have owned the console. It's nice how the last update let's you change the order of the games but I'm still waiting for the chance to organize my games by genre. And yes, themes would also be nice. I think the 3DS themes did not look particularly good because the low res screen. And most of the themes were kinda busy and had too much going on. But some simple different color themes for the switch please.
@NinChocolate Yes but Kemco graphics look like mobile games. To me this is prettier. Also Kemco games are said to have mediocore stories and issues with translations.
The discounts are ok but those asking prices are still too high for 2 year old games. Octopath was on sale once before in Europe. Did not get it back then so I might get it now. I played like 3/4 by borrowing it so I don't feel like paying full price anymore but still I think I want to buy it.
But why would anyone want to play games like this? If this serves no real purpose other than "because I can" then why would anyone want to mod a good controller?
I have never actually played a Kemco RPG before but judging reviews I haven't missed that much. But those 16bit style games from Kemco at least look nice. This is just unappealing.
I wish the people would have let us hear that glorious orchestral soundtrack. I own the PS4-version and have nearly completed it but I'm double dipping day one for sure. Love the 2d-graphics and that soundtrack seems really nice. Also those new features are a nice add too.
This is day one for me. I'm not quite sure if I'll get it on PS4 or switch. I might lean towards Sony's camp just because I grew up playing this with a dual shock. I borrowed the switch version of the trilogy and while it was good, something felt wrong when I used a pro controller vs playing my own copy on PS4 with a DS4.
For the supply and the demand thing: just start buying copies of a cheap game you know had large printis. Eventually you’ll get most of them, then burn all of them but one. Bam, you’ll have a goldmine.
@RennanNT Yeah, it's not easy to make sequels when someone still thinks you changed too much/too little. But so far GF has not made a main Pokemon game that sold poorly or was particularly bad. I think they'll play it safe and not change too much cos people still like the formula.
I would be fine with the game having gyms like we've seen in the past. But I'm guessing they'll be stadiums and you'll get a badge of some sort by winning. It would be kinda neat if those stadiums had some tournaments that always had random trainers with different pokemon. And if you managed to beat a tournament, only then you'd challenge the leader/master. And if you beat the that person then you would be the master of the stadium, and had to defend your status once in a while. You could be a master in all the stadiums at the same time but the catch would be that you'd only be able to use a certain type of pokemon in a stadium. Let's say you beat the rock stadium master with your grass pokemon and became he master. Then you'd have to defend that specific stadium using only rock pokemon.
@Tsurii Yeah it's like do whatever and everyone will be disappointed. Change a thing and it's not a mainline game, update only the graphics & region and it's the same old boring pokemon.
If I had a mansion with a games room the size of our twin room apartment, I would have the space to display one of these. Then I also would have the money to..really buy something else instead.
I loved the original Doom as a kid. I never really got a chance to play Quake though. But this looks something I could get for nostalgia. But am I the only one who would love a wolfenstein 3D / Spear of destiny - style game on the switch? Or then ports of the originals.
Nintendo should say that the switch won't be getting SNES-games, then release a Super Nintendo Mega Ultimate Collection for the 3DS, sega-style. That way they could boost the sales of the dying console. And only after milking it give us the SNES online-app for the switch and get double the sales. Jokes aside, I think the 3DS really could co-exist by getting virtual console games.
Yeah those battle animations on the characters look stupid. But what I dislike even more is how the world is made of those platforms. Just looks unappealing to me. But the price is right and the artstyle otherwise reminds me of something between 16bit and 32bit, which is nice.
Free to play but tons of stuff you can only/easily get by paying real money? So we all bought the game that still btw is priced 50-60 and this is how the company uses that money? I wish they just imvested time and resources for a sequel/prequel instead of mobile stuff. In my opinion phones are a platform suited for casual bubble shooter-games while "real" games should be played with a dedicated gaming device. Just my opinion though. But when it comes for the sequel to Octopath, I wish it was NOT a switch exclusive. Yeah it feels special when switch gets a non Nintendo made exclusive. But more platforms equals more sales and more happy gamers.
@Fake-E-Lee Seems like a reasonable price. Metroidvanias have been popping up in the recent years but more than half of them haven't been all that great. I'm a bit sceptical whwn it come to the genre. Also 16bit JRPG's these days are more miss than a hit.
This looks cool! But to be honest my favourite looking Nintendo handheld is still the gameboy micro. It's sooo portable and sleek looking and those buttons are just perfect. I have an ez flash omega so my micro plays gb, gbc, gba and nes.
I just ordered a 400gb from amazon.de earlier this week for 69 euros shipping included ( I'm from Finland). The 56£ is about the same converted. These are some good prices, and even though my 128gig card has nearly 100gb space left I got the bigger anyway. I don't think I'll need to upgrade anymore with the pace I buy digital games. But I mostly buy smaller indie games that don't take up that much space though.
Looks promising and cool. Keep the price around 15 and it's a deal. Hope it's not as hard as all those old games tho, I found the wonder boy remake/remaster to be a bit too difficult for my taste.
How would a battle royale Zelda game even play? 99 (or something) people tossed in a room and it's last man standing? Or whoever gets trough/out a dungeon first? I'm interested, even though I think it will rather be a co-op zelda for those who have the online. I think Zelda works for co-op, locally but especially online. Maybe a zelda roguelike? I would love to see those wii u Zelda ports get ported to the switch. Then we could all put our wii u:s in our closets for good.
@teamdave2002 I meant that most of the game i could breeze trough and then there was, for example, the last boss I barely managed to beat. I also think the game had so much going on with the different power-ups but I really didn't even need to bother with most of them. That said I did not 100% complete the game with everything but I got trough the main story. It wasn't that bad game to say but I borrowed it and after returning it I don't think I need to re-visit it.
I have never played a Kirby game besides star allies on the switch. This seems promising, star allies was kind of boring. It was too easy and too difficult at the same time. Also the worlds and stages did not look nice to me. I'm tempted to pick this one up even tho it's on the 3DS instead of the switch.
Wasn't it on the US constitution that they need this? Bad jokes aside, if this is true then they will up it UltraSun/Moon style after a year. It's gonna be Pokemon Cannon.
So Capcom didn't bother to optimize/compress the filesizes, no EU physical, the NA physical seems to be zero on cart and REmake as a download...then put a 30 pricetag on them. Let's see how well they'll sell. Those games are 20 / piece to download for the PS4 and I remember them being half off at least two times within the last 6 months. As much as I would like to play REmake again handheld, I'll pass until they drop to a 10-15 price range. I own the original gamecube versions and I can always play them if I want to. They hold up quite well against the new HD remasters.
Those are some nice visuals! For a Pokemon game at least. I'm getting a bit of DQXI-vibe from them. And it's not even final stuff they are showing here. Might get even prettier!
