What I’d like to see in a switch Pokémon game: -A Huge partially olen 3D world but with some linearities with the path. Like in the old days when you need to cut trees or surf or such. -Some sidequest-like stuff that would be necessary to complete to get on with the main quest, just like those sleeping snorlaxes. -An Annoying bully-like rival who you really start to hate and want to beat in a battle. -Gyms back please, but also give us some challenges that need to be completed. -Sidequests that are not necessary to complete but make you get stuff to someone and give you cool items. Or a chance for a rare pokemon. -The feeling that the player is Alhonen facing a huge epic adventure instead of some fun joyriding-thing around some islands. -More challenge, more grinding, less handholding, less of those ”pet and dress your pokemon blah blah”. -Also the world should be interesting with changing locations and big epic dungeons and multiple-floor-enemy-bases. -Team rocket back.
The handles look awkward to hold, the D-pad seems odd as those higher spots are not on the edges of the pad and the battery like is just crap. The pro controller is expensive for a reason. It’s good quality, looks classy, is awesome to hold and has all the features. I wouldn’t cheap out on it as the pro controller seems to the best one for switch.
@tanookisuit I guess you convinced me it's a whole different game And then the 8€/$ price is not too much. And even if it would be just SMB we were getting, ten bucks would be too little for a game that great. Just thinking that if I already have two or three versions of a game, I don't really need another one if the ones I have are easily playable. Then again if the game is super cheap, I might be tempted. But as I said, you convinced me. I'll wait for a review and then decide
@tanookisuit Oh yeah the original definitely didn't have the any wind blow deaths or poison mushrooms. I think the poison ones were first introduced on lost levels? Hmm, maybe then I need to buy another SMB. But the price will definitely matter. If it's too high then I'll hope or a sale.
@Kayfios Yeah! And as far as the mario franchice goes, I think I'd like remakes or remasters from mario64 and sunshine. They have aged well, but at least 64 could use some cleaner visuals and better camera. Yoshi's story and the first paper mario games were only released on the 64 as far as i know, so those should get some switch-love. And all the gameboy-wario games have not been re-released that many times.. Pokemon trading card game 1 (and 2 translated) on the switch with multiplayer would be awesome.
I have never played or seen the arcade version. Played the nes original, the snes all stars version, own the gbc-port and the 3ds vc one. I think Ive seen the game already. Maybe if it’s 5€ or under I’ll consider. I think we need virtual console games that have not seen so many re-releases.
@JubilifeRival I think Bravely default also had the option to turn off random encounters. At least I remember doing so, and I have yet to even unbox my copy of the second
The game sure looks cool, pixel meets hand drawn-ish. It looks a bit more "better" than snes or megadrive/genesis could do. But still it's cleaner than those ps1 2d games. The gameplay seems nice too, if only they get the controls solid. Then some memorable scenery and I'm sold.
I'll get some Sega 3D classics but nothing else is really interesting. I'm a long time pokemon-fan and have almost all the main series games physical. But still I find (even after the discount) that the price is a bit much for the first gen. I think Nintendo should give the first three for free like one day when ultra-sun/moon is released. Just to celebrate. Or maybe include a free download code with the games. Gold and silver I MIGHT buy for 3DS. But hey I got the HH & SS and they still play with the 3DS too so..
This box needs something else than a code to get me exited. I might get the digital (even tho I have the originals and the remakes both complete). But if this box would have a map, a reprinted manual from the original, or maybe a pokedex booklet then It would be cool. Or if it's cheap enough I might consider.
"On my PS4 it's the only game that doesn't prompt the fan to kick in for its 'jet taking off' level of noise, so it's not pushing the hardware particularly hard." I'm guessing this game doesn't need any blast processing then?

Stupid not to give a chance to get all of them. So I'll get the first one.
