The more popular a Nintendo product gets, the more bizarre the third-party accessories become - remember the Wii days? It's perhaps to be expected, then, that the Switch Lite is the latest machine to get in on the weird accessory shenanigans.
That's right, available to pre-order now from Amazon Japan with international shipping is this Nintendo Switch Lite neck strap. With a stretchy silicon grip section to wrap around your console, and a strap to wrap around your own head, you'll be able to keep your console on your person with minimal effort.
If the pictures are to be believed, it can help to support the console while you play or droop around your neck like a super-expensive ID card. It's certainly an interesting way to carry your console, and while we couldn't face the idea of letting it dangle around like that, perhaps this sounds like the perfect accessory for you.
If it does, you can go ahead and pick up a Grey, Turquoise or Yellow option from Amazon for 1,100 yen before tax and shipping (approx. £8 / $10).

That looks really cool, but I would not trust that thing to hold my cat
Make it black and it'll look like venom is trying to take over your switch
when I said I liked being choked by a Switch this isn't what I had in mind...
@ALinkttPresent My thoughts exactly. That looks flimsy as heck, and I'm all but sure we're gonna see tons of YouTube videos of them snapping and dropping Switches on all kinds of surfaces.
I'd actually like to see a stress test video of it, now that I've mentioned this...
EDIT:
And this comes out just when we thought we had already seen the most useless neck-related Switch accessory:
@ThanosReXXX We'd only see tons of YouTube videos of them if people bought them.
Even your keys are less likely to be stolen with a neck strap, honestly
Oh my God! If you're attacked by bandits, they can easily choke you with that. Don't buy this! You give bandits twice as less work because it's already around your neck. Make bandits work to choke you. That would give you more time in which you can smack a bandit with your switch and knock him out. Never ever be polite to a bandit either. Just smack him with your switch and walk away. Just smack and walk away. That's your new slogan now.
Are gamers the laziest people on earth? This is amazing
What an age we live in.
Step 1: Get a friend wearing this to look up.
Step 2: Pull their switch down as far as you can.
Step 3: Release the switch to make contact with their face.
Step 4: Lose a friend but gain a hilarious memory.
I can look sad and uncool on my own without this things help, thank you very much.
Think I saw something like this in an adult catalogue
Nobody should buy this.
Flavor Flav will prolly get one. If he doesn't sue them first.
Wooooow, this is so stupid lol
This sounds like the perfect accessory to put too much strain on my neck.
I'd be terrified to wear that thing. I get it that it's stretchy, but if even one band slips eek!
The whole appeal of the Switch Lite is how it's a lot lighter and easier to hold lol
Ryan Craddock, how is it possible for a "staff writer" to use such diabolical English Grammar? Look at the title of this article - Fed Up Of Carrying Your Nintendo Switch Lite? Get Yourself A Neck Strap.
You can't be fed up OF anything, it is fed up WITH!

@rjejr "Because at least, he's a marginally better choice than Go.. erm,
I mean Kanye"...
(edited to reflect original intent)
@ThanosReXXX Wrong article, Kanye was this one.
https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/10/random_hmm_this_new_kanye_west_song_sure_sounds_familiar
@rjejr I see your age is starting to catch up to you, (slightly) old(er) man, otherwise you'd have remembered that I'm NEVER wrong...
Sure, that looks like a good idea. The clip scratching the case and the straps snapping off and falling to the ground.
I think I think I can drop my switch myself without buying any accessories to do it. Thanks anyway.
@ThanosReXXX "I'm NEVER wrong"
Maybe YOU should run for President w/ that as your slogan.
Thanos ReXXX 2020
I'm NEVER wrong
@rjejr Well, I probably couldn't do much worse than him...
Doesn't look like it would securely hold a Switch console but this made for some entertaining comments.
Enjoy your posterior cervical intervertebral disc herniations, users!
@ALinkttPresent
Your cat ?!
I wouldn't trust that thing to put up a struggle to a gnat !
lmao!! put your switch light on a leash xD...-done here.
After seeing the picture, all I could think about was how cool it would be if the Switch Lite was available in black. BUT then I remembered how popular Atomic Purple was.
@rjejr True dat...
The Japanese use similar straps with cell phones while riding in trains. During rush hour passengers often have to move at a moment's notice and don't have time to continuously pocket their devices, hence the next strap. I imagine this product serves a similar purpose.
If someone carries me with a strap then I would carry the handheld without the strap.
