Nintendo fans waited a long time for Square Enix's RPG Final Fantasy VII, and it finally showed up in 2019 on the Switch.
With this in mind, the timeless classic is now 25 years old. To celebrate, the Japanese publisher and developer has revealed two brand new anniversary logos for the title. It includes artwork from Tetsuya Nomura - an artist on the original '97 PlayStation release.
The part about "the year ahead" - is likely a reference to Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Part 2 - a PlayStation exclusive. It will follow on from the release of part one, which arrived on the PlayStation 4 in 2020.
While we're not expecting much on the Nintendo front, at least we'll always have Cloud and Sepiroth in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. If you've not played this game yet, what are you waiting for? It's a must-play if you're a fan of RPGs. Here's what we had to say in our review:
"Final Fantasy VII is the sort of game that speaks for itself, a touchstone of game design that played a large role in setting the standard of RPGs for years to come. It goes without saying that you should give Final Fantasy VII a shot if you consider yourself to be a fan of RPGs, as this is an experience unlike any other in many ways."
