Just weeks after a listing for the Min Min (ARMS) Super Smash Bros. Ultimate amiibo was spotted online, Nintendo has now locked in a release date.
She'll be "stretching onto the scene" on April 29th. Unfortunately, it's not all good news - with Nintendo also revealing the Steve and Alex Minecraft amiibo have now been delayed until later this year due to a "logistics and production delay".
"The Steve & Alex #SmashBros #amiibo were previously announced to launch in spring 2022. However, due to a logistics and production delay, unfortunately the release timing has been delayed to later in 2022.

Clearly its because the Steve amiibo is too complicated a figure for mass production.

What kind of issue can Steve and Alex cause to have such a delay? Come to think of it, isn't a delay a first for amiibo? Cloud, Corrin and Bayonetta don't count.

Of course they delay the one amiibo I want to get out of the entire fighter pass. If they were to make a shirtless sephiroth amiibo for p7 and p8 though.

Probably because it's way simpler to make since it's the same exact shape to mold. Both Byleths have unique poses which would've required too much resources. It's the same reason why Joker didn't get his school alt and only DQ11's Hero got the Amiibo and not the other three.
I need Min Min. I mean how much Arms merchandise will ever be available?
@Synecdoche I think they are two amiibos to justify the price tag… ala Mr, Game and Watch. I guess they will bundle both. Or do we have confirmation they will be single packages?
At least I hope they are bundled. I don’t want to pay MSRP for two ugly amiibos just to complete my Smash collection.

It's good to see dates for one of the upcoming Smash Amiibo. The one(s) I'm waiting on are the Pyra/Mythra Amiibo for Smash. Based on how the larger figurine statues from Good Smile sold (and continue to sell) they're probably going to sell out the quickest of any of the upcoming Amiibo due to the popularity of the Good Smile made figures. So I'll need to be quick to get those ordered. Out!
I want to have the Min Min amiibo to add to the few ARMS related shirts and pins I have. ARMS is another game I wish had much more support in terms of merchandise.

@I-U @MH4 I’m pleasantly surprised we are getting an Arms related Amiibo.
I honestly thought Arms would be the last Arms related thing we would get from Nintendo (which I was sad about because I love that game). So I’m buying Min Min out of principle.

I'm so pleased they still make amiibo, I love them. I always hoped for more red base Mario series amiibo. We once saw a new Boswer Jr red base amiibo in the Mario Party Star Rush trailer...but he never was released in the wild.
@UglyCasanova it'll be the NFC chip shortage, if bank cards have been massively affected you can bet the ones for toys have been too
@HammerGalladeBro @KirbysAdventure as I said above, there's an NFC chip shortage on as a result of the wider global semiconductor shortage. I think the race to mine bitcoin has drained reserves of silicon as well as production capacity, so obviously a small player wanting chips for toys will be impacted.
A logistical and production delay is probably not that the product is hard to make, but that the resources to make them aren't available as scheduled, or there might be additional legal agreements to finalize?

The Min Min amiibo is a must-have for me, simply because there is practically no other ARMS merchandise available.
I would love to see another ARMS game someday.
