Re: Flipping Heck, That Pinball FX3 Switch Patch Is Coming After All

meppi64

@Lroy thanks for tagging me. Didn't see this one pop up.
Well, looks like I'm back in then, but I'll be holding off buying more tables till it's actually released this time.
Looks like the community outcry and disappointment over what went down really made them reconsider, which is certainly a good thing.
Still feel like it shouldn't even have come to that, but hey, no need to keep dragging it in light of this good news.

Re: One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 Is Getting A Bootiful Deluxe Edition On Switch

Glad I held off on importing and I'm really happy we're getting a physical English version, even if it's EU only.

Now I can keep a bit of hope alive for all the other Japanese only musou games.
Was on the brink of importing Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate for the past couple of weeks. But with this one as well as Zelda musou hitting soon, I'll wait a bit longer to see if we might get a physical English release of that as well. Might be a long shot though.

Re: Surprise! There's A New Nintendo Direct Coming, And It's Due Tomorrow

@Bass_X0 Don't get me wrong, Blue Storm is a really fun game.
But compared to WaveRace 64, it's missing quite a few things that would have made the game an all-time classic.
For one, the controls are too stiff. The controls in 64 feel very natural and like you're actually controlling the person that's controlling the jetski, instead of the jetski itself.
The water-physics as well, while not bad in any way, do feel not quite as brilliant as in the first one.
Then there's the music and overall atmosphere which differs so much between both games.
Waverace 64 for me is still one of my favourite racing games that I can play all day long, even till this day. And Blue Storm is just a good racer to spend a bit of time with, but not something I can lose a whole week of my vacation on these days.

Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Will Get A Retail Release (But It'll Cost You $60)

meppi64

@RetroGamerAndrew I got it preordered at Base since the direct it was show in.

It's really shoddy reporting to put something like that in.
I wonder how many research (if any) even went into it.
And what surprises me even more is how it's still up like that without correction. :-/
Not a single news outlet or site has mentioned a digital only EU change, heck even on the official Nintendo site it still says it's being released on cartridge, yet somehow it ends up on here without anything to back it up.
How does that even happen?

Re: Danmaku Unlimited 3 Will Fire Onto Nintendo Switch Next Month

10$/€? That's a real bargain!
Would have gladly paid double for this.

@therube
Yeah, one of the reasons I stopped buying and even playing games on iOS.
I just don't understand how they could go 64bit only and not code in a 32-bit legacy mode or something for apps and games that don't get an update.

Re: Review: Mercenary Kings Reloaded (Switch eShop)

@RetroGamerAndrew Yeah it all kinda depends I guess. Its certainly a lot more slow and methodical than I want from my run & gun games.

I just missed the discount on Neurovoider. Didn't expect it to be gone so quickly. Although I might pick it up on my Japanese account as I still got some funds on there.

Personally I would recommend picking up Metal Slug 1, Metal Slug X and Metal Slug 3 on Switch if you want some brilliant run and gun games.
And picking up all 3 will only cost you €1 more overall.

@RetroGamerAndrew
Yeah, I got this free on PS+ a couple of year ago.
I was promised a Metal Slug style game and got some really boring whatever-this-is with bad controls.
When LRG announced a physical version for Switch and I mentioned on another forum that this wasn't a very good pick, they told me it was a terrific game and I was just a hater.
Started wondering if this "updated" version was somehow much better than the one I played at launch.
Guess now I know the answer, its not.

Wow, this looks like a real celebration of Hudson shooters.
That one ship looks a lot like the Hector one as well.

I wonder if it will see a western release as well...
So far there's nothing on the Japanese eshop, so we'll have to wait a bit to see if it supports English which would mean that it'll be released here as well.
Anyway, I still got some money on my Japanese account, so this will be a hard one to not buy the second it goes for sale.
