Come on guys, time for some real game journalism. Contact the developer and try to see if you can get confirmation that the complete soundtrack of the first Lumines will be on here in it's entirety, including licensed tracks.
Oh, didn't expect this to come to Switch. Very nice. Now I want OnRush as well after seeing the trailer for other systems. Kinda like an ExciteTruck semi-sequel. I really miss ExciteTruck...
@masterLEON You can set the wallpaper to off in the settings, which certainly helps. Although, that doesn't work for Caravan mode, which is indeed a problem.
@NintendoFan4Lyf Hehe, it's actually one of the few systems that I never owned. Yet I did buy a Jaguar of all things. ;P But that was just for Tempest 2000, so it was kinda worth it.
@Lroy thanks for tagging me. Didn't see this one pop up. Well, looks like I'm back in then, but I'll be holding off buying more tables till it's actually released this time. Looks like the community outcry and disappointment over what went down really made them reconsider, which is certainly a good thing. Still feel like it shouldn't even have come to that, but hey, no need to keep dragging it in light of this good news.
@StephenYap3 Yep same here. Only use my phone to call someone and to send an occasional text. I used to play a lot of games on it and lost a ton of games in the move to 64bit, so I never bought another game on the Appstore again. Stopped playing them as well.
Wow, that music! And coupled with a great looking ALTTP style game. Yep, day 1 for me. Hopefully this will get a physical release as well, if not at retail, then at least through LRG.
Glad I held off on importing and I'm really happy we're getting a physical English version, even if it's EU only.
Now I can keep a bit of hope alive for all the other Japanese only musou games. Was on the brink of importing Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate for the past couple of weeks. But with this one as well as Zelda musou hitting soon, I'll wait a bit longer to see if we might get a physical English release of that as well. Might be a long shot though.
@Bass_X0 Don't get me wrong, Blue Storm is a really fun game. But compared to WaveRace 64, it's missing quite a few things that would have made the game an all-time classic. For one, the controls are too stiff. The controls in 64 feel very natural and like you're actually controlling the person that's controlling the jetski, instead of the jetski itself. The water-physics as well, while not bad in any way, do feel not quite as brilliant as in the first one. Then there's the music and overall atmosphere which differs so much between both games. Waverace 64 for me is still one of my favourite racing games that I can play all day long, even till this day. And Blue Storm is just a good racer to spend a bit of time with, but not something I can lose a whole week of my vacation on these days.
@GrailUK Mature content? That can only mean one thing! The regular Pinball Arcade release with the uncensored Scared Stiff table included! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7j4nIvW5a0
Just an observation, but it would be nice to have a CET time as well when these kinds of things drop. I noticed that it nearly always is GMT and US time only.
In the meanwhile, I'm just gonna keep hoping for a true WaveRace 64 sequel. Oh and Picross S2
@RetroGamerAndrew I got it preordered at Base since the direct it was show in.
It's really shoddy reporting to put something like that in. I wonder how many research (if any) even went into it. And what surprises me even more is how it's still up like that without correction. :-/ Not a single news outlet or site has mentioned a digital only EU change, heck even on the official Nintendo site it still says it's being released on cartridge, yet somehow it ends up on here without anything to back it up. How does that even happen?
"There's no option to buy a physical version for the EU or the UK, so it's just our American chums coughing up for the privilege of a box and a cart at the moment."
Wait! What? That surely can't be right. I see it up for preorder at every single online shop I'm looking at, both in the UK and Benelux. :-/
Was excited there for a minute as I read next week instead of next year. :-/ Why would the graphics need reworking? Just release the arcade perfect versions like pretty much every fan wants and be done with it. Reworking classics such as these only adds to the possibility of messing them up in one way or another.
10$/€? That's a real bargain! Would have gladly paid double for this.
@therube Yeah, one of the reasons I stopped buying and even playing games on iOS. I just don't understand how they could go 64bit only and not code in a 32-bit legacy mode or something for apps and games that don't get an update.
@RetroGamerAndrew Yeah it all kinda depends I guess. Its certainly a lot more slow and methodical than I want from my run & gun games.
I just missed the discount on Neurovoider. Didn't expect it to be gone so quickly. Although I might pick it up on my Japanese account as I still got some funds on there.
Personally I would recommend picking up Metal Slug 1, Metal Slug X and Metal Slug 3 on Switch if you want some brilliant run and gun games. And picking up all 3 will only cost you €1 more overall.
@RetroGamerAndrew Yeah, I got this free on PS+ a couple of year ago. I was promised a Metal Slug style game and got some really boring whatever-this-is with bad controls. When LRG announced a physical version for Switch and I mentioned on another forum that this wasn't a very good pick, they told me it was a terrific game and I was just a hater. Started wondering if this "updated" version was somehow much better than the one I played at launch. Guess now I know the answer, its not.
If COZMO is on there, be sure to listen to Candy Bomb, COZMO OPERATION, Twinkle Venus Twinkle, The only place where you can hear and Miss Direction.
Wonderful tracks!
@antster1983 Oh very nice! I think I haven't played the arcade version of Star Force before, only the Famicom port. Will pick this up for sure. I wonder how far of Terra Cresta and Elevator Action are.
Looks much more like the last Ys game than the other Shining games, but I'll take it. Really wish we'd see a shining in the Darkness/ The Holy Ark port and then a Shining for 1, 2, CD, 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 compilation.
Come on Sega, do something worthwhile with your back catalogue!
I wonder if it will see a western release as well...
So far there's nothing on the Japanese eshop, so we'll have to wait a bit to see if it supports English which would mean that it'll be released here as well.
Anyway, I still got some money on my Japanese account, so this will be a hard one to not buy the second it goes for sale.

It's not the Lunar Pool sequel that I've been dreaming of for years, but it's close enough for me. Looks really fun.

Yeah, I'm calling BS on the game not being released as a physical version in Europe. No idea where that came from.
