Re: Review: Warriors Orochi 4 - A Boisterous But Samey Sequel That Won't Win Over Naysayers

@Gamerhenky
Does it even matter at this point?
It's not like these games get reviewed on their merits anyway.
The reviews for these games are even more generic and low effort than the games they tend to paint in such a way.
So why does it even matter that a review uses pictures from an unrelated game and a header from a game that came out in 2012?
Anyone with even the slightest bit of interest in the series knows by now that you don't look to mainstream sites for a worthwhile review on any of these titles.
Unless it has a Nintendo licence attached to it of course, in which case they all of a sudden get a heap of praise for being, well the same as the other games in the series.

@EmirParkreiner
Oh, thank you so much for that, I'll add it to my bookmarks!
Just saw that he did a post TGS post and the Hamster booth.
Sad to see there's still no Japanese physical release for the Psikyo Collection Vol.1, but at least I got my preorder in for the Korean version.
And good to see him confirm Strikers 1999.

@Hck ah, thanks for that.
I had no idea Grandia doesn't have a Japanese release planned right now.
That sounds so weird to me.
Already got my Monster Boy physical copy preordered from Videogamesplus, since it's digital only in Europe.

@GrailUK Popeye is my most wanted Nintendo arcade game that I'd want to see come home again, but I fear that the licence stands in the way of that. While it's not in high demand at all, it would up the price of the release for sure, so I don't know if Hamster would be willing to go that route.
It would be a very nice prestige release for them though.

@Sinton Yeah, a good stick always costs a bit of money.
But in the end you're better of getting a high quality one instead of one of those cheap knockoffs that are not much good and you'll end up not using for very long.

@EmirParkreiner Thank you for that really exiting bit of info!
I only check their website and official Twitter account so I missed that.
Could you link me up perhaps?

@masterLEON @OorWullie
Just would like to add that Strikers 1945 Plus is more like a remix of Strikers 1945 II than a port though.
Sometimes it's very close and at others, there are quite a couple of big changes, even in the stages. On top of that there's different music, enemy patterns from time to time and an extra ship for example.
Oh and PINK bullets!

Between the terribly written and super predictable reviews, the copy&pasted tweets masquerading as news, misleading articles that get facts wrong, top X lists being divided over as many pages as possible to maximise page hits and click-bait videos with no worthwhile content, my urge not visit this site anymore is definitely growing.

Re: Feature: The Bloodthirsty History Of Monster Hunter, From PlayStation To Switch

@SuperFamBros That's a good description of why I was disappointed with World and didn't keep playing it for very long.
Got it on Xbox this spring and despite a handful of improvements that made the game basically simpler overall as well as the absolutely gorgeous graphics, it just didn't click with me. It's kinda weird as it was supposed to be the ultimate Monster Hunter game yet it left me cold.
I wasn't even planning on getting the Switch release at launch because of this, but since a couple of friends decided to get it, so did I. When it came in the mail, I wasn't even excited, yet here we are, 4 days later and it's all I've been playing as well as thinking about.
So no, I don't buy all those QoL excuses on how the other games in the series are all of a sudden a step back, or borderline unplayable. Far from it.

Re: Review: Picross S2 (Switch eShop)

@HobbitGamer Because it takes over 50 hours to complete every single puzzle without any misses and the game is 9€, not 45€.

@Jayenkai If this was 3D Picross, I'd agree with you as that one thrives on touchscreen controls.
That being said, 2D Picross games have always been best with a d-pad and buttons ever since the 90's.
