@The_Pixel_King I played Okamiden, Okami’s DS sequel first, so I had a little bit of familiarity with the Okami universe.
Regarding Okami, the humor is spot on, the gameplay is great (it controls brilliantly in handheld) and the stylized world of Ancient Nippon is a beautiful one to wander around. The art style is really special it has a timeless feel like wind waker.
Don’t expect a Breath of the Wild open world, this game is firmly rooted in the old 3D Zelda’s linear gameplay. But saying that, Okami is for me the best of the old 3D Zelda’s.
It took me 40 hours to get to the credits, and it was so much fun. You can spend longer if you’re a completionist or less if you ignore the side missions. Whatever way you play, I am sure you will enjoy it. There is a reason why it is so highly acclaimed.
This weekend I’ve been back on Xenoblade 2. I can finally say that I am getting into this game.
Unlike Xenoblade 1, the story does not immediately grab you - it’s more of a slow burn. But the game has grown on me and now I am throughly addicted. I think I’ll be playing this well into 2021
@LUIGITORNADO I’m not the biggest fan of these types of games - I’ve played Fire Emblem Warriors and it was okay.
However, I will give this a chance. The interconnection with BOTW is what I’m really interested in. Plus I think with Nintendo more heavily involved it could turn out as the best of the musou genre on the Switch.
I never had a GameCube so this is brand new and loads of fun to play. Just thinking what great games that system had - Wind Walker (fingers crossed for Zelda 35), Luigi’s Mansion (which I got on 3DS)
@quigtendo I finished the main story of Switcher last weekend after 120 hours - absolutely amazing. I still have the expansion packs to go through but I’m saving them for 2021. You are right, one of the best value games on Switch.
At the moment I’ve started Link’s Awakening. The childhood memories are strong with this game.
I’ve just had the credits roll on the Switcher. An absolutely stunning game. For me it really was one of the best gaming experiences ever - right up there with Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade Chronicles. I am so glad the Witcher was ported to the Switch and I took the plunge in buying it.
So I will take a little break from the intense world of Geralt and head back to my 3DS backlog by hitting Mario and Luigi Paper Jam’s final boss area.
After finishing Trials of Mana I got back to the Switcher. But instead of getting into the main story I’ve been sidetracked by Geralt’s passion for Gwent.
I played Sticker Star. An enjoyable game but it’s not one that I wanted to replay.
Currently playing through Paper Jam. I’m surprised it’s ranked this high as I enjoyed Sticker Star more.
Origami King is getting mixed reactions. It’s obviously not as loved as the GameCube entry but it does seem to be the best of the modern entries. I’ll probably pick it up when it becomes part of the ‘select line’ or whatever Nintendo will call their discounted range in a few years time.
I’m still playing Trials of Mana. I’m 17 hours in, so probably 2/3’s the way through it.
I never thouught I would enjoy the Trials of Mana so much! I was a huge fan of Secret of Mana as a kid and this game hits so many nostalgia buttons!
Also, Trials of Mana has a refreshingly simple plot. I do love the complex stories of modern day games but it is nice to play a game from a simpler time. No unexpected twists and turns just a straight good vs evil plot line.
I’m currently engrossed in the Switcher. Very hard to put that game down.
But I’ve also started “To the Moon” which was on sale a couple of weeks back. It starts off weird but slowly pulled me in. I should also finish that this weekend.
@Incoherent1 @BenAV the first Bayonetta in my opinion has the better story but Bayonetta 2 is much more forgiving gameplay wise.
I've played both on the Switch. For me I cleared out my gaming schedule and each game took me around ten days to complete. I found they were the kind of games to main line as your reflexes improve as you go on.
I did find the first game harder to get into but because I cleared the way to play it, I was able to finish the game. Bayonetta 2, for me, was pure joy from start to finish.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 19th)
A lot of Xenoblade 2 I hope!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 12th)
@NintendoByNature I enjoyed Black Flag as part of the ‘Rebel Collection’. Is it worth going back to play Rogue?
Re: Video: Check Out The Latest Trailer For Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
With Mario 3D All Stars still lingering in my backlog, I will be getting this but not until 2022 at the earliest.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 28th)
I wanted to finish off Mario and Luigi Paper Jam Bros on the 3DS but I’ve got back into Xenoblade 2 so let’s see.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 21st)
@PBNightmare I enjoyed Ni No Kuni - especially the story - but I did feel that the ending was a bit padded out.
This weekend I’ve dipped back into Golf Story on my Switch. However my main focus has been trying to finish Mario & Luigi Paper Jam Bros for the 3DS.
Re: Hardware Classics: The Super Famicom Is 30 Today
So many great games growing up. I foolishly sold mine before uni but I was so happy when the SNES mini came out as I was able to relive the joy!
So many hours spent on Zelda ALttP and Secret of Mana - simpler times!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 14th)
I’ve been pretty busy the last couple of weeks so gaming has been sparse lately.
But I’m right at the end of Mario and Luigi Paper Jam on the 3DS. I wonder if I can finish the game this weekend?

@outsider83 Okami is one of the best experiences I’ve had on the Switch. I think it still holds up today.
This is a busy weekend for me, but I have managed some Xenoblade 2. Hopefully will be able to knock out a few hours with that game.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 3rd)
@andywinter definitely start with Zelda. But Witcher is pretty meaty too.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel #61 - Okamiden
@OorWullie Okami is the better game but if you enjoyed that then Okamiden is well worth your time.
It’s shorter and yes is designed for the basic DS, but it retains the same quirky humour and it’s really nice to visit ancient Nippon again.

The hype is real. Not day one, as I want to finish Xenoblade 2, but I’ll pick this up in the new year.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 26th)
3D All Stars, in particular Sunshine.
I never had a GameCube so this is brand new and loads of fun to play. Just thinking what great games that system had - Wind Walker (fingers crossed for Zelda 35), Luigi’s Mansion (which I got on 3DS)
Yeah I missed out! But I’m catching up fast.
Re: Random: Someone's Made A NES Game That Can Track The International Space Station
I am no computer programmer. But I just love the setup for this ‘game’. Imagine if something like this could be built for the Switch.
I am happy to say that I am a bit of a Space Geek so this thrills me.
Re: UK Charts: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Goes Straight To Number One
@AmplifyMJ I’m also playing them chronologically. My daughter has gone straight for sunshine and she loves it.
Re: DOOM Eternal Switch Release Still Happening, id Software Says It's "Very Close"
@SpaceKaren I travel for a living. So I am forced to paying the ‘Switch Tax’.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 19th)
Mario 3D All Stars. Picked up a copy yesterday (no pre-order just went into Argos) as well as continuing Xenoblade 2.
I have my whole Autumn laid out for me, gaming wise.
Re: DOOM Eternal Switch Release Still Happening, id Software Says It's "Very Close"
It’s not ‘normally’ what I play but then I normally didn’t play the Witcher - and thoroughly enjoyed it on the Switch.
So I am very interested to see the final product and if it’s a good port then I’m buying!
This is what I love about the Switch. It opens me up to new gaming experiences that I would have never thought about beforehand.
Re: Where To Pre-Order Super Mario 3D All-Stars On Nintendo Switch
For those in the U.K., I walked into my local Argos and picked up my copy for £49.99. Day one purchase - something I have never done before.
No pre-order, no checking on the Internet, no hassle, I just took a chance and they had it in stock.
Take from that what you will.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 12th)
I started Xenoblade Chronicles 2 this week. 16 hours in and I’m completely hooked!
I spent over 200 hours on Xenoblade 3D. I can easily see myself matching that with this game.
Re: Baldo's Release Date Has Changed From This Summer To 'TBD'
This was one of the indies that I am genuinely interested in. Shame about the delay but it will lead to a better game.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 5th)
I’ll finish Link’s Awakening this weekend - great fun.
I’m also having a blast with Golf Story. Picked it up on sale last wee and it’s terrific!

That stupid card game is so addictive!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 1st)
Trials of Mana. My nephew ‘borrowed’ it last week. Now I’m ‘borrowing’ it back!
And I love the game. I played Secret of Mana to death as a kid so I love the references in Trials. Great game!
Re: 'Anti-RPG' PlayStation Title Moon Arrives On Switch eShop This August
I’ll put this on my wish list. If it goes on sale then I’m tempted to jump.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 25th)
This weekend I’m having a break from the Witcher. Was meant to start Trials of Mana, but my nephew liked the look of that game, so ☹️
So I’m back on Assassins Creed, and I’m playing through the Freedom Cry DLC.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei V Is Getting A Simultaneous Global Launch On Nintendo Switch Next Year
Never played any of the SMT games but this trailer has piqued my interest. I’ll check the reviews but I am tempted.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 18th)
Finished “To the Moon” last weekend so back into the Witcher. I’ve so far played 85 hours and I don’t even think I’m halfway through.
I’m also giving the 3DS a bit of love, as I’m slowly progressing with “Mario and Luigi Paper Jam Bros”.
Re: Waifu Uncovered Temporarily Pulled From Japanese eShop Due To Explicit Scene
@Incarna 👏
Re: Poll: Paper Mario: The Origami King Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?
I do enjoy Paper Mario. And the reviews do seem good, but just not ‘day one’ good. And I have a finite amount of cash to spend.
I can see me picking this up in two or three years time towards the end of the Switch’s lifespan.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 11th)
@dugan To the Moon is an intriguing game. A slow starter but it does keep you hooked
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 11th)
I’m currently engrossed in the Switcher. Very hard to put that game down.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 4th)
@themightyant my plan after finishing Witcher is to go into Xenoblade 2
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 4th)
I said last week that I would hold off from the Witcher. That failed, I’m thoroughly immersed in that world again.
However I’ve also dusted off my 3DS and I’m playing Mario and Luigi Paper Jam Bros. It’s taken me a while but I’ve made some good progress with it.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 27th)
I’ve just finished BOTW. Fantastic experience but I need to chill out for a while before heading back to Witcher 3.
So having picked up “To the Moon” last week whilst on sale, I think I’ll sink my teeth into that this weekend.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 20th)
I’ve completed 114 out of the 120 shrines in BOTW. So I reckon I’ll hunt down the last few shrines before going after Gannon.
So far have spent 130 hours on Zelda and have loved this game
Shame it has to end...
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 13th)
A busy weekend for me so I doubt I’ll have much time to tackle BOTW.
However my 3DS is still calling me and I’ll dip into Mario and Luigi Paper Jam for my gaming fix.
Re: Ikumi Nakamura Plans To Pitch New Okami Game To Former Employer Capcom
Yes, yes and yes please!
Played Okami recently on the Switch and Okamiden (a whole back) on the DS.
What I really love about the Okami series are the humour and the setting in Ancient Japan.
Fingers crossed for this one.
Re: Nintendo Reveals The Top 15 Most-Downloaded Switch Games In May 2020 (Europe)
@TheFullAndy agreed it’s a killer game.
I got NBA 2K20 for my nephew. At that price you couldn’t go wrong.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (June 6th)
Breath of the Wild.
For the past couple of weeks I’ve been hooked on the Witcher but I’ve reached a point in the story where I can take a break and return to Zelda.
And wow, I almost forgot how cool Hyrule is.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 30th)
As I made it to back Poland, it's very appropriate that I’m still engrossed in the Witcher 3.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (May 23rd)
Started Witcher 3 last weekend. Haven't stopped playing it. Fantastic game - and managed to pull me away from BOTW
