Re: Nintendo Announces Higher Than Expected Profits Despite Missed Sales Targets

I still wonder why Ninty does not use its IP to sell non gaming merchandise en masse. Think back a few days ago to the Majoras Mask night light, which they could have sold for tons of money, but instead appears as a restricted reward.

If you think how Disney plasters Mickey Mouse on everything from coffee mugs to baby's clothes, I wonder why Nintendo does not try to do the same with Mario, Zelda and the other big franchises. Still, good news that profits are up!

While I was younger, I had both a SNES and Gameboy - good times! But I 'grew up' and forgot about games until I stumbled on my old gameboy in my mother's attic. When I plugged in the batteries and replayed Zelda, I realised that growing up was a mistake!

The 3ds (and I've bought a second hand ds to play gba games on) fits in so well with my life, in a way that a full console cannot, but it gives a far richer experience compared to the Flappy Bird clones on mobile phones. My original 3ds really is one of my best purchases, and I've had many hours of great gaming from this fun little machine. And yes, I still switch on my old gameboy from time to time!

I've recently bought this secondhand to experience it for the first time, and I am onto the third dungeon.

While not my favourite handheld Zelda (for me both Link's Awakening and ALBW) I find the gameplay more refreshing than the Oracle games. My only bugbear is that Minish Cap really shoehorns you into a linear path. However, the shrinking mechanic is great fun and I have been enjoying the game so far.
