Pass. There were thoughts and elements put into Arceus that made that game such a nice breath of fresh air. To completely roll back those elements in this game seems like a huge step backwards. Considering all of the new elements they are putting into this game, it just feels strange that they would remove the things that really made their best Pokemon game to date stand out amongst the rest of their recent games.
If the currently existing library for the Nintendo Switch isn't carried over 1:1 on day one with the new 'Nintendo Switch 2', the platform will not be nearly as profitable.
The biggest lesson the gaming industry (I'm hoping) has learned at this point, is the continuation of the existing library with the addition of new titles.
@Joe-b If Nintendo comes out with a successor, we should all expect that everything will carry over moving forward. Just updated/more powerful Switches from here on out.
If this subscription was more akin to Fortnite where it also provides the battle/season pass, I would be down. With what is currently on offer.... probably not.
Epic has done a fantastic job with Fortnite when it comes to collaborations with other companies. They are arguably the only true metaverse at this point because they're combining as many different properties, ideas, and people into their Fortnite sphere of the gaming world.
Who does this sound very similar to? Lego.
I have long since praised Lego for the past few decades for accomplishing the same feat with their products. They tend to license as many properties as possible in both their Lego creations and gaming collabs.
For me, this is a dream matchup. Epic, who has an incredible handle on the gaming sphere can help Lego really capitalize in their game development department. My dream Lego game for the better part of the last decade is something akin to Minecraft. Having a vast open world game free to create anything you want with various properties (Harry Potter, Marvel, DC) and then fly, drive, battle around the worlds with others would be a fantastic game that I think has even higher potential than a game like Fortnite.
Isssh. Don't include Lego Worlds on any list unless it's a worse games of all-time list. Absolutely garbage.
The thing that's so disappointing about that game is that Lego should be able to design an amazing open-world Minecraft-esque type game. It would sell billions if done correctly.
@120frames-please The online only part is my only gripe. But because of the game's prominent competitive mode, it makes sense to introduce something such as always online to make sure cheating is cut to a minimum.
I am hoping a future update allows there to be at least Arcade racing as an offline mode.
Overall though, this is easily my favorite in the franchise. Its beauty alone is enough for me to keep playing.
I'm hoping Arceus and GT7 stay on top for a while honestly. Heck toss in Elden Ring too. These three games are must haves for their particular genres and are the quintessential games to own in anyone's game libraries. Best part is this year is just beginning and we have three of my favorite games of all time that just came out in a span of two months. Happy gamer days everyone.
The traditional method is so boring. In fact it would be amazing if battles were more dynamic where you would still have aim and throw a ball at a wild pokemon even in battle. I would assume the catching mechanics from Legends will carry over just for the open world aesthetic clearly in place (looks at the flock of Hoppip flying through the air as an indicator).
If it doesn't include a refined version of that mechanic, this game will be an immediate no purchase from me.
The only way I'm getting this is if they bring over all of the new features in Arceus. If there's no open world throwing pokeballs at flying, running, swimming Pokemon, I'm not buying it. That is the single greatest mechanic Arceus introduced and it needs to be in this game.
@KingBowser The Switch already has Hulu. I don't know why that isn't listed in the article. It's still my number played game according to hours watched. 🤣
@KingBowser We already know this game is coming this year, do we really need anything else about the game? We know it's going to be stellar. At this point I want to see things that haven't been formally announced by Nintendo or if we'll see the new Metroid Prime game in the next decade.
@UltimateOtaku91 GTAV is never coming to the switch unless it's a cloud version running a cloud version. The game barely ran on PS3. The Switch has only PS2 level graphics... just look at how awful Arceus is.
Get f'n hyped people... I'm expecting nothing but jaw dropping news/trailers due to the leaks in previous weeks/months... Also... let's try to not over hype and get disappointed when they only show off Kirby.
What’s funny for me is that I only buy physical copies from Nintendo. I buy some digital too, but I don’t buy any physical games for any other platform. Does it have a little to do with the limited capacity of micro sd cards? Sure. But I just prefer physical for them because of longevity and contingency reasons.
@Troll_Decimator Honestly, there are just a few easy features/refinements that could be made that would put this in Breath of the Wild tier for me. This game is a big step in the right direction.
Edit: I have also legitimately died more times in this game already than I had in BotW. 🤣
Gold and Silver are very special because of so many things. They are truly the pinnacle of 2D Pokemon games. Arceus is the new evolution of the game. I am hard pressed to not say it is the new number one. But if there is DLC for this game, Arceus will easily be number one. Whatever comes next in the series though is now primed to be a masterpiece much like what gold and silver were to red/blue and yellow.
Here’s the thing that’s crazy… this is the first pokemon game I have played that doesn’t have multiplayer in any way, shape or form. And yet it is easily the best pokemon game I have ever played. This game is a huge step in the right direction. There are some other features that could easily be implemented to make the next entry phenomenal. The amount of fun I am having battling and catching is far better than any past experience. And I have been playing Pokemon games for 25 years.
Wow that's probably what it should cost regardless considering how horribly it's getting reviewed. Makes sense to drop the price immediately since no one is buying it.

Re: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet Releases 18th November
Let us throw balls again in the open world please. It looks like you can still sneak up on Pokemon, but let us also throw balls.
I like the co-op, but ultimately this game is a pass.

Re: The "Finishing Touches" Are Being Added To No Man's Sky On Switch
@aresius As cautiously optimistic as I am, I am firmly expecting their team to be locking this game in at 30 fps before releasing.
Re: The "Finishing Touches" Are Being Added To No Man's Sky On Switch
I'm excited for this. Hopefully there is cross-progression implemented when this drops.

Re: Switch Online's N64 Update Is Live (Version 2.3.0), Here's What's Included
@ClamDown If they released all of those games on this service, everyone who owns a Switch would immediately subscribe.
My ultimate wishlist:
-Goldeneye 64
-Diddy Kong Racing
-Donkey Kong 64
-Wave Race
-Pilot Wings
Re: Feature: The 12 Best Wrestling Games On Nintendo Systems
@KindofaBigDeal No Mercy really was the goat. I'm hoping it possibly shows up on NSO.
Re: Pokémon Unite's In-Game Subscription Service Is Now Live
I hope that this subscription does not sell well so they then decide to roll the season pass into it as well. I would subscribe if they did that.
Re: Fall Guys Is Going Free-To-Play, Comes To Switch This Summer With Cross-Play And A Huge Update
This game will probably join my lineup of current F2P games I am playing:
-Fortnite
-Rocket League
-Smite
-Pokemon Unite
-Genshin Impact
-Fall Guys
Hoping Genshin comes to the Switch soon so that all my main games are playable on Nintendo's platform!

Re: Nintendo Says It Wants To Avoid A Repeat Of Wii U With Switch's Successor
An upgraded Switch (power, battery life, bigger screen, built in microphone, bluetooth capabilities, better wifi card) is a no-brainer for successor.

Nintendo doesn't need to rush on this. Time is on their side. A true successor may not see the light of day until 2030.

This is just one step closer to a Lego game akin to Minecraft. I'm very exciting for the future in this partnership.
