Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Pokémon Legends: Z-A?

kal_el_07241

Love this game so far through and through... about 20 hours in and only rank F so far. The main buildings exteriors could look better but overall everything in this game (save for massive wild areas) are better than Arceus.

The human mannerisms in cut scenes are fantastic, Pokemon actually have personality in this game, very cute and charming game from some of the main story and side missions with Pokemon, excellent battle system with so much dynamic play at foot (battled 8 Pokemon at once at one point haha), and the music is stellar.

I have moments where I just walk down a street with my partner Pokemon enjoying some sights and definitely the sounds of the game. This is another amazing Legends game that I dearly hope TPC builds upon from here on out. I just pray that the Turn Based battles are finally gone for good moving forward or TPC allows you to choose between two gameplay mechanics.

I need to do a formal video review of this game cause my wife and I are honestly addicted to it.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Gets A 6-Minute Overview Trailer For Switch 2

@michellelynn0976 It's ok, there are plenty of us that are very hyped for this game! We have been eating well so far with the launch of Switch 2. Excited to see if this is the most challenging and most fun Pokemon experience to date!

Also, just looked at another trailer posted. While some of the buildings do look lackluster for textures, the water in the game for the rivers, etc. looks amazing!! Also, in Donkey Kong Bananza I'm pretty sure they're using particle physics for all of the water. Standing under waterfalls/running water has never looked so good.

Re: Preview: Pokémon Legends: Z-A's Combat Shines Brightly, But Its Visuals Are Still Dull

Just give us Palworld instead... much better game overall than anything Pokemon has given us in decades...

Ok, sarcasm aside, I want to know what's holding GameFreak back on making a truly remarkable Pokemon game. Other companies have made spinoffs that look so much better and cleaner. And GameFreak themselves have a visual marvel of a game coming out soon. Are they just hampered by Creatures when it comes to creativity and timelines due to their TCG release schedule?

Either way this game looks like a big step in the right direction. But the visuals at this point honestly look worse than what we had in Arceus. I will reserve my final judgements for after I have played the game (for a thousand hours no doubt haha).

Re: Pokémon Legends: Z-A Is Getting DLC Featuring Two Different Mega Raichu

My spare pennies on this topic...

Announcing DLC ahead of release is nothing new, even for Nintendo (ala BotW and Smash). What I'm intrigued on, as my hype is ever climbing for this game, is what all will be included for that $30 price tag.

The DLC that was included in Scarlet and Violet was pretty substantial and was very much well needed for the story of the game. Honestly, the DLC ended up turning the game into one of my favorite Pokemon games of all time.

As for DLC for ZA, I'm expecting either a full new region or areas to explore outside of the city. As people have already stated, Pokemon announcing in advance that this game will have legs for support unlike Arceus is absolutely huge (Arceus is my favorite Pokemon game to date). I can understand the frustration around announcing DLC in advance, but with how hard in the paint the marketing has been for this game thus far, this new game (whether you like it or not) is the new direction for the main line games going forward (battle style revamped, cannot transfer pokemon back to prior games, Champions replacing turn based combat).

I'm excited for the Evolution.

Re: Pokémon Champions Is The Main Battle Game For The 2026 World Championships

@PeterTomlan86 It’s not excluding so much as letting Game Freak have some creative freedom to create something new and fun to play. Battles need to be more freeform and dynamic as seen in the Anime. Seems Legends ZA is heading down the route and looks promising. Hopefully that’ll continue to get polish and evolve overtime in the mainline/new generations games.

Eventually, if all goes well, we could then see both turn-based and real time battles on display at Worlds.

Wtf is this comment section?? Real time battles brings us that much closer to the Anime. Every situation in a Pokemon game should be 100% dynamic making for an exciting experience every time you play.

Legends Arceus was just the beginning. You want your turn-based, stale Pokemon formula, well you have 30 years of that. It’s time for Pokemon to finally evolve and be one of the best game series again.
