One pleasant surprise during the Ubisoft Forward broadcast back in September was the announcement Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition (including Knives Chau and Wallace Wells downloadable content) would be coming to the Switch and multiple other platforms this holiday season.
While an exact release date hasn't been revealed just yet, we shouldn't have to wait much longer. Earlier this week, this re-release was rated for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Google Stadia by PEGI.
"This game has received a PEGI 12 because it features moderate violence and use of bad language. Not suitable for persons under 12 years of age."
If you haven't played this 2D arcade-style beat 'em up game before, it's inspired by the iconic graphic novel series and 2010 Universal Pictures film. Here's a bit extra about what to expect along with some screenshots:
"With its unique blend of style, humor and classic gameplay, players will help Scott Pilgrim take on enemies, including the League of Seven Evil Exes to fight for love. To do so, players can embody Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Stephen Stills and more unforgettable characters, all featuring their own unique signature moves and attacks. By earning experience points, characters can level up and learn numerous deadly skills."
"Additionally, players will have the opportunity to team up with up to three friends locally or online to defeat foes, share health and coins, and revive each other. Friends can also compete in subspace mini-games, frantic dodgeball or challenge each other to epic last-one-standing battles."
Is this a game you'll be revisiting when it arrives on the Nintendo Switch? Comment below.

SUPER excited for this one! Can’t wait 😊 Between Scott Pilgrim and Streets of Rage 4, we’re really covered for quality beat’em ups on Switch.
Now all I need is for them to release a physical copy of the game.
I got excited by the articles and thought they had announced the date for this.
I still play this every once in a while on my PS3. Great game! I highly recommend it!
@The_Pixel_King don't forget River City Girls!
Really excited for this game, I love Scott Pilgrim and this was so much fun on the 360.
Im just not sure about the switch version - Portability would be great but the unreliable connection on the Lite and lack of ingame voice chat worries me a little.
I’m super excited, normally this would be a day 1 purchase but not only do I have a lot of games already to play, calamity will be out by then, and so will the localization of FE1. No worries tho I’m crossing my finger for a physical anyways, hopefully it comes!
Hopefully it doesn't get delay but yeap definitely getting this again for Switch.
I enjoyed it a fair bit on my PS3, but portability alone makes it worth the double-dip on my Switch
@Samuel-Flutter Yes, if any game needs a physical release with a nice illustrated graphic-novel style old school video game manual, it's this one.
Actually, when you look at the top right screen shot, you see why the lower right screen shot has the vegan police zap away his vegan powers: there's parts of animals in there. Even one of the fruits has a smiling face for some reason... Ah well, I'll have my vegan powers forever.
Downloading this day 1. Don't want to risk it being delisted again. (I did snag it on 360, but cba to keep setting it up just to play this game)
I don’t wanna hear anything else until a release date! Gimme the game!
@jump Same. 😑
It's truly about freaking time, bi brought the original on both ps3 and Xbox 360 and loved it, then I upgraded my systems only to learn it had been removed from the online stores never to be downloaded again, i love this game, movie and comic series and I only wish there's was some kind of continuation of the story. Best news since the Streets of Rage 4 release.
Loved this game on PS3. Reminiscent of River City Rampage. The sprites looked great and the music was awesome.
Day 1 fur sure. Love this game. Would love a physical copy as well
@Minfinity For a minute there, I almost did. RCG is awesome!
Looking fwd to this.
Yup, I’ll be getting this for sure. Had a lot of fun with this on 360.
Hey all, Scott here!
@BlackStar9000 All I ever want from life is a continuation of the series. Maybe some day. A cartoon in the style of the comic would be great too
I’ve never read the comic but enjoy good beat ‘em ups! I will probably add this to the shelf along with River City Girls and SOR4 if they release it physically.
Imagine if they don’t have a physical release and the game disappears again!!
I plan to get this. I never had the chance to play it when it origionaly came out.
I still can't believe this is actually happening
Almost time bay beeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Oftenly waiting for this. Will Everly buy if rupee are available
Unless it gets a physical copy it isn't preserved. Does anyone know if PlayStation or no sex box got a physical copy?
Definitely looking forward to this release! Love the animation, the pixelated sprites, the killer soundtrack, the awesome comics/film it’s based on. So happy to see it being rereleased onto modern consoles! Definitely one of my favourite brawlers in recent memory!
@Samuel-Flutter and we definitely need a re release of the game’s score by Anamanaguchi! Blasting it full blast as we speak!
@Pichuka97 get the animators and writers from Gravity Falls to work on it. Alex Hirsch is a genius and would match the SP Universe PERFECTLY.
Three words GIVE ME PHYSICAL
Loved this game when it was on the PS3, and I'll love it when I play the Switch version.
wow this was a blast on the PS3 because back then, there weren't that many cool pixel art games. I'm happy more people will get to experience it if they missed the PS3/360 version.
