this is too hard, I love half of them =/ I did vote for Rowlet now because he's the one I've most recently loved from the get-go (and also my last generation pick) The only grass starter I don't like is Chespin. He sucks And I'll be going Grookey next week! #GrookeyGang
I have an important question: can we change the measures to meters and kilograms? Actually, is Portuguese supported at all? I won't get what's going on if it tells me I just ran 75 measures of a king's cheekbone or whatever measure system it is that you guys use in USA
I gotta admit I teared up a little. Great ad. The National Dex debacle has been a whole thing, not without it’s share of reason at times, but I’m confident we’ll have more than enough Pokémon for everyone.
It was my first ever N64 game. I was terrible at it, don't have a lot of fond memories to be honest. Thinking about that now, it's probably because I couldn't understand the Shop menu.... (I was 10, English was hard)
@Trikeboy I hated Samurott, but I only found it out after he evolved. That put a big sour taste on Black for me. I like that they haven't revealed much and that we're going into the region without meeting every single species and all the post-game, but I will definitely be googling the evolutions before I choose a starter when the games come out if they're aren't revealed earlier. By the way, #GrookeyGang ATM but it all depends on how the three of them end up looking
@r1chard I read somewhere (sorry, can't recall where) that they actually have a "go straight to DLC" option on the Switch version for those who had already played the main game but not the DLC, so there's that
Damn if they did it KNOW I guess I could still cancel my PC preorder. I really wanna play this game but I wanna play it even more on switch (my switcher 3 is thankfully coming soon, and physical no less)
@Primarina I don't dislike Oranguru to be honest, even though he wasn't in my team in Sun. But I think Grookey's gorilla final form, as the leak already spoiled to us, will probably be more active and I have faith I will like him
In the first trailer I was all over Scorbunny but I've liked him less and less ever since (specially if the fire/fighting curse comes true). I've been leaning Grookey and this videos seem to settle that for me! But I'll really, really only decide after I see the final evolutions, since Oshawott burned me once and I won't that happen again, (apparently this will need to happen in a very careful for spoilers Google after I start the game since it doesn't seem like they'll release them before it comes out) tl;dr: #GrookeyGang
@Tantani who claimed that and where? I haven't seen a thing about the post-game. And anyway, I wasn't talking about length, I was telling this person who never played a Pokémon game to measure expectations and be ready for what they'll encounter. I love Pokémon but I grew up with it, my views are very biased towards liking it. I kind of always will like a Pokémon game, so I'm trying to be objective for a newcomer.
@jarvismp if you keep in mind it's an easy game, the story is not usually super deep, and that half of it's charm and appeal is within the creatures themselves and are still on board with all that, then yeah, go for it! You could wait a while for the reviews and demo, though (they won't release a demo before the games anymore, not after the last two were hacked and all new Pokémon were spoiled before release)
@RazumikhinPG I decided not to comment on the "so very traditional fried chicken of Portugal" on the possibility that I could be unaware of something, but yeah, I just think they liked the look of the rooster
As a Brazilian, that Barcelos Rooster from Portuguese folklore made me really, really confused about where in Europe Masuda was. Never heard of Nando's before, but that makes sense now
@Haywired oh, you're right! It's in Spanish. It's the same meaning, though: the word goal became "gol" in both Portuguese and Spanish, and the ending suffix "-laço" or "-lazo" in those cases means something big, huge, colossal
for those curious, in Portuguese, or at least in Brazil, "golaço" means an awesome/hard/difficult goal score in football ("soccer"). I guess they thought the accented "ç" would be too daunting for foreigners so they went with a z
@GetShulked have you watched the trailer you’re commenting on? Pokémon are jumping, running, reacting to each other, cheering for your cooking, lots of new animations that might’ve needed a 3D model revamp. Yes, battle animations are mostly the same. That’s not the point.
The people still complaining haven’t realised those Camp animations and interactions between trainer-Pokémon and Pokémon-Pokémon are rather complex? We had a peek of them in Let’s Go’s Go Park, but it’s a much bigger roster now. Those are the new and complex animations right here, it’s the answer to the whole Dexit debacle. And I’m more than fine with that, I’d rather have vivid creatures camping with me and enjoying my curry, thank you very much.
So.... does anyone now when the game actually releases on Switch? I pre-ordered the physical edition since they managed the 32GB on the cartridge and I thought that merited my (expensive over here) purchase, and I'm still anxious when I'll get to play it
@Link41 oh, don't worry, we're aware of who is "governing" us, but since, you know, an armed revolution and guillotines is kind of hard to rally people to sign up for, we're protesting his terrible decisions and waiting for the next three years and six months to pass as fast as possible
@JamesJose7 I'm not triggered, it's just a very passionate subject to me, sorry if I sounded rude. Yeah, I know petitions rarely if ever work, and the Independent Direct plan is better because it garners more attention, but they're the same conjoined plan in the end, and I'm supporting any side of it I can.
@AntiHero yes, that's why retailers importing physical Switch copies end up charging up to $30 more than the digital only official Nintendo Shop. But this Brazilian shop has a very limited selection of non-Nintendo distributed games. You can check it by yourself here: https://loja.nintendo.com.br This Brazilian shop is getting better, but it used to took them months to release DLCs, for instance.
@Papasophagus It's not intelligble, but different to the point that we effectively have to pause to understand some words and sentences, and if a Portuguese is speaking too fast, I can't understand (some people do though, it varies). That's mostly because anything invented after the independence in 1822 received a different translation for each country, so we have different words from everything from "bus" to "cell phone" (for videogames specifically, "screen", "console" and "press button X" are all different, for instance). We also have many words from Africa and native indigenous populations that aren't used in Portugal (for things like "cassava" and "passion fruit"). The weird thing is that in Portugal they've always been exposed to our TV series and soap operas (audiovisual production is much bigger here), so they mostly understand us just fine, and even incorporate some of our words in their vocabulary BUT, anyway, Zelda for instance has never ever been translated to any form of Portuguese, nor has a mainline series Pokémon game
@JamesJose7 yeah but we're not trying to change "world's problems", it's a petition for a company to sell better (and by that, more) in a specific market. It's not about fixing climate change or getting rid of prejudice or some other unattainable thing against big corporation's wishes. It's actually very much a pro-corporation and money petition, so.... they'll at least listen
I literally changed my Nintendo account to UK so I could buy Dandara, a Brazilian game. We're very badly represented here. The only Nintendo distributed games officially in Brazilian Portuguese are Mario Run and Pokémon Go, and they obviously aren't developed by Nintendo itself, nor are in their platforms. Mario Kart does have European Portuguese, so there's at least that.
Thanks for re-translating, that is actual journalism, a rare thing nowadays.
From what I can see, these new models are definitely based on the previous ones that have served us well for seven whole years, but that doesn't mean it didn't need an overhaul. Here is a quote from ResetERA:
" Updating your engine so it uses modern physics, modern shaders, better animation based solutions, different kind of lighting etc REQUIRES you to check every single old asset you are importing, thats unavoidable! Maybe the polycount needs to be changed, maybe the rigs are acting funky, maybe the textures dont work well with the new lights, maybe all new materials for every creature need to be made. Its a ton of f***ing work that is oftentimes solved by just remaking the damn thing."
@RazumikhinPG no idea, that's the weird thing. Maybe the guy just thought it sounded "fantasy, mystical, etc" (which I guess was Miyamoto's line of thought as well)
@RazumikhinPG as the article says, Zelda Spellman is one of the aunts of Sabrina the Teenage Witch (played by Miranda Otto in the recent "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" Netflix show), and that comic existed since the 60s. I believe some TV show cartoon specials were already made with Sabrina by the 80s, so "Witch" is actually the best possible word I guess
@ThanosReXXX wait so you play game to "escape reality" but you also want games to "represent you and what you're looking for"? Isn't that.... a paradox?
how dare you call my beautiful and precious 3DS Link Between Worlds a whack job! It's the most lovely of things and the only themed console I've ever bought
The price is too much for me, but I might get it in a promotion. I love how fun and not taking itself seriously it is, but I'm not into those dating games.
@RandomLeo00 Yeah I just watched it and it's impressive. I was in doubt, but it's a stellar port, there's barely any difference and the framerate holds a pretty steady 30fps just like PS4 did. I won't be getting it now since I'm broke, but it's definitely on my list
