@BooJoh I simply gave up on the first DLC. The puzzles and challenges were the weakest part of the game for me, so I didn't want more of that. The second dlc though is all I liked from the first: exploration in a mythology and incorporating that lore inside gameplay. With the added bonus I know nothing about Chinese mythology, so I have no idea where it's headed (even though the setup is very very similar to the main game, basically identical)
I never played this one and I'm not in a rush, but playing as Zelda is enough to make me interested in it. I really wish we had more instances of that in the series.
Guys it's literally in the embedded tweet that there's an entire account dedicated to Brazilian Portuguese...... Brazilian Portuguese is also the most spoken language in Latin America by number of speakers (Spanish obviously wins by number of countries)
@FredsBodyDouble it is, it's a different character, save file, etc. I've liked what I played so far, and the idea of a shorter story might be perfect for me before Pokémon Snap comes out. It IS, however, just a reskin of the base game, keep that in mind. I wish I had bought just that one because I hated the first DLC and didn't even finish it. Oh well...
@Octane as others have pointed out, some of those could be just names of things in some countries. I'm Brazilian and Onix, besides being a type of stone, is a type of very affordable Chevrolet car (also probably accounts for most of the Onix searches in other Latin American countries). Kabuto is simply the word for "helmet" in Japan, there isn't a gigantic Kabuto fandom we've never heard of before. There are probably tons of other examples.
Ok I'm refraining from pre ordering because cyberpunk really burned me on that but this game sounds like my childhood dream coming true! I'm so excited
I could see Splatoon working very similarly to Ingress, you have teams, you dominate their spots with your paint colour, and maybe to do that you have to aim a paint gun at targets, similarly to how you throw pokeballs in Go. Also the painted places could look nice in AR. Other than that I don't see any other working
I never finished it and played a borrowed version, but I am curious to see how it will go. I remember distinctly disliking the areas before dungeons, because they made them too linear and puzzly, like if you were already in a game level before even reaching the dungeon. I remember I gave up in the desert. I know none of that will be changed, but I'll at least play it having the foresight that this terrible design decision was entirely changed in their next entry.
Of course it's still an early concept and the composing looks off (which doesn't matter, when it's in your face you'll take it as real, Vox has a great video on VR talking about that aspect of humans), but yeah as long as the lenses are this big, there's no way anyone is going out with anything like that. Remember how people reacted to Google Glass? It LOOKS invasive to others, it's insane.
I came into this presentation thinking "Well I skipped this generation and now I'll finally play it through the remakes" but when the trailer started I immediately pivoted to "Nope, I'm out!" But I'm super excited to finally meet Sinnoh in Legends, count me all the way in that one
@Fandabidozi it's not an automatic organisation like in Go (which is what I would want) but in switch you can properly define them by boxes, which you can't on mobile
Not a fan of Post Malone or Katy Perry, so I hope some other names are involved.... I do like Malone's song in Into the Spider-verse though so I guess that's why they reached out to him. This reminded me of the unexpected but genius collaboration between Tyler the Creator and that Grinch movie. The songs were actually great and fit perfectly for the Grinch, against all odds. I just hope whatever music they're making turns out to be decent.
I saw some release footage, I'm very tolerant to graphics if it means I can play on the switch (immortals fenyx and Witcher 3 are both games I bought on switch) but outer worlds seemed inexcusable. I know some patches happened, but have they been enough? If they have, I might eventually pick it. I was very interested in this game
I just want to be able to send a pre-written Nintendo approved message to an already added friend when they go online on a game I'm playing (like Animal Crossing or Pokémon) and say "hey I'm online let's play in a family-friendly Mario-approved manner" instead of having to deal with an entirely different outside system to message them, and then exchange goddamn codes or whatever, please?
@auck THE SAME HAPPENED TO ME! I can't even really tell what is going on. Is it 60fps? I have no idea but it seems a lot more fluid in my new 4k tv. It is also the only switch game in which I noticed that
Yeeees! I'm just sad it's a single day, it should be like Halloween or Bunny Day in that the event has a lasting effect through the month. In a regular year we'd be having Carnaval parties every weekend in Brazil at this time of the year, I'm glad I'll at least be able to celebrate somewhat in ACNH. And hey guys, all those silly Halloween costumes, the glittery shorts, sushi costumes and, specially, glitter masks you've seen in the game already?? IT'S TIME TO WEAR THEM! IT'S FESTIVALE!!!
Apples are the odd one out in Pokémon games, apparently. All other fruit are turned into "Something Berry", but Sweet and Tart Apples are a thing, at least in Galar. And now, they're not in Lental anymore. Weirder and weirder...
Yeah I would also like an advanced "photography pro" mode but at the end of the day it's a game, the system not only has to work, it also has to be clear and easy to communicate to players. It's not like I didn't have hours of fun with the first Snap, and I was basically pre-purchasing it already until my Cyberpunk burnout remembered me to at least wait for a couple reviews
As was said before, chocolate pizza is super common in Brazil. It all depends on the brand of chocolate used, if there is fruit involved (I'm personally a big fan of white chocolate + strawberry combo, but bananas and cinnamon, without chocolate, are also a favourite) and how well is the dough made. Basically there is a sweet version of most snacks in Brazil. That includes sushi, somehow (rice+strawberry, or marmelade)
WHY is this news? There's ALWAYS a Direct in Pokémon Day, OF COURSE another will happen during the Pokémon 25 celebration. Gen 4 remakes rumours are as old as Gen 6 when ORAS came out, the DLC for SwSh is done, SOMETHING will have to release this year because something always does, and they're not changing generations yet. You don't have to be an insider to calculate the most likely scenario.
I don't think I'd need it much now since I just upgraded to a smarter TV (the previous was so slow it would be faster to watch YouTube on Switch rather than in the TV's app, it would boot faster). But I still regularly watch YouTube every morning on my Switch while making coffee, and then switch to Animal Crossing to drink the coffee I just made. It's just my routine now.
....I read some article about how it worked in public squares and stuff and it seemed interesting, you built structures and other people would see it. That's definitely a different take than just copying Pokémon, which often makes no sense (I used to like Harry Potter but collecting Potter moments or whatever makes zero sense, who wants that? Pokémon is Pokémon) But I thought it hadn't even been released yet! Well, I'm not a Minecraft guy but I think I'd have at least heard about it's release.
I downloaded it some years ago and I really enjoyed it but it seemed like a sin to play it on my greasy broken phone screen, and also I hate controlling something with my hands in front of what's happening (also the reason why I'm waiting to keep playing genshin impact: I want it all on Switch!)
I know I'll get Immortals (and watch dogs legion on pc) eventually, but right now my backlog is piling over me (I just bought Link's Awakening in that black Friday sale and haven't even started it!) and waiting a little longer for a game that will probably be super cheap by the time I'll be able to play it seems the smarter choice
I wish the villagers would dress in all-white as is tradition in Brazil, but oh well, at least I will (its due to the Yorubá's religions of Candomblé and Umbanda that Africans brought with them, but nowadays people gloss over that saying it's used to mean "peace". Whitewashing hogwash of course)
Halloween was the best but wedding photos were also a lot of fun because you could get really silly with them! The decorations weren't as good as Halloween though
@RupeeClock my beaches are pretty barren right now, I can think of A LOT of summer items I'd love to see. I still haven't found a big parasol, just small umbrellas that look ridiculous next to a chair. Also food carts, specially for popsicles, more chair options, drink stand with "fruit" cocktails, horizontal surfboard that you can lay on....? Small sunscreen kit, beach bags as decoration... Maybe some small boats and fisherman decoration? Man I really miss going out I can't believe I'll spend my entire summer in house hahahahah (at least I really enjoyed Carnaval this year before the world ended)
@RupeeClock Yeah but shells are so boring, I can't bring myself to collect them all hahahhaha Summer seasonal recipes are quite lackluster, aren't they? I wish they were more beach and outdoors related instead of mostly being walls and floors for your house. Anyway, the best seasonal recipes are definitely spring and I could barely get them because my island was in full Halloween recipes mood. I love this game but it can get daunting.
Aaaaaand just as I predicted, I knew northern hemisphere would be all over it while I was enjoying making snowpeople alone in June (while ALL MY FRIENDS STOPPED PLAYING). Meanwhile, don't those summer shells EVER spawn?? I've collected what, 3? Also, I don't have recipes for any summer items so whatever I guess
Seems fair! But I was eager for the orchestra bit and I think it was such a huge wasted potential that they didn't mash Doom Eternal and Animal Crossing's themes, as god had intended. Oh well
@Pod an update now that the eShop has officially launched: to everyone's surprise, older games prices have NOT been updated to R$ 300 (just newer ones), at least no yet, so the Brazilian eShop, with some games at R$ 250 ($ 47) is the cheapest possible eShop.
@Pod we don't have any physical rewards either, and gold coins are only arriving now with the eShop (they existed for the 3DS and WiiU shops though) I believe by law, boxes and manuals have to be in Portuguese to be sold here, the Switch arrived in September with translated boxes, and also the socket plug revised by the national electrical company (mainland Europe socket works here). I get why dubbing isn't viable for EVERY language, but I think subtitles should at least be standard. Specially in a country like Brazil where a lot of people don't understand English (I might be wrong but I get the impression that's not the case for Scandinavia). Nintendo's official answer right now is "well but we do have Spanish" which, you know..... Are you kidding me? I literally speak English and can't understand Spanish, it's not THAT similar to Portuguese. (Sorry Latin brothers yes I'm a bad neighbour and I'm ashamed)
@Pod oh, definitely! We had an official online shop since 2018 but it was quite cumbersome, having to access on a browser and then either type the code in the system to download or redeem through e-mail (most people seemed to miss this e-mail option, which was a lot easier than typing a huge code). Simply having everything in the system is miles better. Now, what Brazilian fans REALLY want are translated games. Nintendo is basically the only publisher that doesn't do it. Sony, Microsoft, Ubisoft, CD PROJEKT, anything is subtitled AND dubbed in all platforms, triple A's and Indies, and also all of Nintendo's mobile titles. I really don't get why they're still holding off on what is standard for every other single game.
