Pokémon GO Is Teaming Up With One Piece In A Special Crossover Event Later This Month

Can't wait to see Pikachu in Jump Force or something now.

There are other Pokemon. We've had like... more than a dozen special Pikachus at this point. All kinds of different hats. I wish they'd use something else.

We had the sunglasses Squirtle and the Eevee with the flower but that's it.

Pikachu is gonna be king of the Pokemon. Mark my words.

@Heavyarms55 also Armor Mewtwo now, but yeah... I wish we had other Pokémon get the spotlight. But we all now it ain't happening, right

@dux Oh yeah, that's a thing. Forgot about that one cause I tend to ignore raids unless it is a new release.

To be fair, this probably has a wider appeal potential than other anime references, since it can pass off as a... Regular straw hat. Just in time for the summer sun.

@JR150 They've already done Naruto references a couple of times in the Sun/Moon anime, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did. There's a ninja tour guide in Malie City whose constant catchphrase is "Believe it!" and is also part of the "gym" (it's more of an obstacle course, like the Ninja Warrior or Wipeout shows) in that location (alongside a couple of other ninjas).

Most recently, there was a Pikachu named Boruto who even had the same hairstyle as him.

@JR150 A Yu-Gi-Oh crossover would be AMAZING. However, I would rather have a Yu-Gi-Oh abridged crossover but eh.

@Tsurii I mean yeah, it is cool. But I still feel like it's the easy route. Just throwing Luffy's hat on a Pikachu. They could be much more creative with only a little effort. I don't know much about One Piece in particular, but it's a lot like other shonen anime, with a huge and colorful cast of characters. Luffy's thing is stretching right? Why not Ditto then?

I don't mean to sound like I am complaining, it's cool whatever. I just think they could do a little better by being a little different.

Love one piece, think i am reinstalling this game after a long time to get that pikachu.

All of these special Pikachu........don't get me wrong, I love Pikachu but I've run out of storage. I'm going to have to actually buy more storage for the upcoming Community Day and I'll need even more now. I need that Pokemon Bank successor which is supposed to connect with Pokemon GO.
