If you want to be the very best or the king of the pirates, the next Pokémon GO event is for you. The Pokémon Company have announced the next event for the insanely popular augmented reality game will see Pikachu and friends team up with the long-running anime, One Piece.

From 22 July through to the 29th July, a special Straw Hat Pikachu will appear in the game worldwide. Trainers will also be able to acquire their very own straw hat that's just like the one Monkey D. Luffy wears.

If you happen to live in Japan, there'll also be a One Piece statue located in Kumamoto, which doubles as a special PokéStop and features art by the One Piece creator, Eiichiro Oda. This statue is also to help support the Kumamoto city rebuild, after the earthquake at the start of the year, and ties in with GO's third anniversary and the 22nd anniversary of One Piece.

Will you be booting up Pokémon GO later this month to capture a special Straw Hat Pikachu? Tell us down in the comments.
