@Pod conversion rates are going up month by month so it's kind of hard to predict but in the current website for digital purchases, loja.nintendo.com.br newer games are being sold for R$300 (roughly $56) while some older games (like Animal crossing, to give you an idea of how fast exchange rates are going up) are still R$250 (roughly $47), so yeah, Nintendo is willing to take a smaller cut to cater to our sadly collapsing market. I'd bet R$300 to be standardized for the eShop. Obviously, they can only manage to do that because no physical games are sold by Nintendo in Brazil right now (existing physical copies are only of the imported variety)
@RCGamer yeah which is the right way to do it, they shouldn't erase the other version to support a new one. Actually, tying the type of Portuguese to the continent is quite clever of them, are any other languages similarly separated like that? English and French, possibly? Spanish? I get so used to seeing "Português (Brasil)" and "Português (Europeu)" always that a more elegant solution like this actually stands out
@Charinzardon there was a website in a browser, not a proper eShop like the 3DS and WiiU have. Starting December 7th you can buy directly from your system. This wasn't possible before, you needed a web browser in a phone or computer to buy digital games.
sobbing in excitement due to the Brazilian Portuguese support sorry Portugal, I like you and all but your words for modern things are WEIRD. Also, a proper eShop for Brazil! With more than 30 or so titles! The ability to aend photos to phones, so I can actually crop them before posting! I love all of it, yes!
I'm very sad to have the Italian one, as it was bought with my Switch during a trip (Nintendo wasnt officially in Brazil yet in 2018!) It's not a bad cover by any means but the Japanese/North American is MILES better. Alas, the game is great in any way
Why is everyone making fun of a new language? Play the entire damn game in Japanese then, that's the original language, you're all playing a translation. I which there were MORE language options, more accessibility for people. There is still no Portuguese on any Nintendo game EXCEPT for goddamn mobile, it's absurd.
I wonder how my Southern Hemisphere island will look with those Turkey Day decorations. Halloween was weird, Nook`s Cranny had tulips until September, in October carved pumpkings where at the front and now I'm back at tulips. Also, there were uncarved pumpkins around April. Will I have Maple Leaf Resident Services even though there are no Maple Leaves around my Island? At least with the pumpkins I could actually harvest them and see them around hahaha
....seriously? Australia gets a whole article? I'm locked out here in Brazil as well and I have high end fiber optic internet, I could probably play it just fine if there were servers nearby
It's not available on my region but I have great internet so I'm curious to at least try..... But I'm not sure actually buying it from another region would work. This is my only issue with cloud gaming, I get people are worried about ownership and I think it's a valid concern, but I also watch movies on Netflix and listen to songs on Spotify, I own nothing. That's just the world we live in, and control will keep existing physically in other platforms for conservation's sake
@DonSerrot this explanation is also the canonical reason why the sages from ocarina of time have the same names as the cities in adventure of link: the cities are named after them (obviously in real life it's the opposite since ocarina came after).
So, there's precedence for your theory!
F him, I mostly play on TV and get in handheld when my boyfriend wants to use the TV while I`m gamin, which basically happens once in a lifetime, so yeah, I love the hybrid nature. Nintendo should keep it like that for the next generation too
@Dm9982 I'd say you're VERY lucky, I mainly play weekends when my boyfriend is doing something, otherwise we're watching something together. I really like the story, but it's definitely a long game.
I've finally finished the main story a couple months ago and I'm going through DLC one. Apparently DLC two is as big as a whole new game. I might never finish it! Hahah being an adult sucks
Still isn't available here in Brazil so I bought it January when my siste brought it over from the UK. Boy if I only knew how much I'd need it.... It's basically my only source of exercise now since the pandemic started. I haven't been able to hop in every day because of work commitments, but I'm around day 130 and I did notice some significant changes to my body. Thanks, Nintendo!
I'm so in! I hope he's playable! Come on Nintendo of America just release the goddamn pre-purchase in Brazil already, I WANT to give you my money but you're not letting me!
As with most people here, I gave up on buying it after seeing the reviews and pre-release footage. I'm glad they're at least acknowledging the issues and trying to patch it, even though that's a tad late. If the patch ends up significantly improving both visuals and performance I will finally buy it, because I really want to, but as it stands now they're not deserving my money.
@GrandScribe They didn't do a Switch, but they did sell a RotomPhone phone case. You know, the Dex is just an app in a RotomPhone now... less enticing than the older ones for sure, but definitely makes sense.
I just bought a used copy of Odyssey and played hours and hours if it yesterday! I never managed to finish a single Mario game and I'm terrible at platforming, so I don't know why I even bought it in the first place, but that game is so good! Every single Moon makes me smile! I think it's exactly what I needed after a long work week.
YEEEEES! Love them, love their designs! Ok that brings up a lot of story potential, we'll probably play as them defending almost-dead-Link in the Great Plateau
@Octane yeah but I doubt the way they could be implemented is the same way the hack implemented them, so, from a code standpoint, they'd have to be removed either way
I guess the problem is that people are effectively selling hacks for real life money. And, who know, maybe the item could be implemented for real eventually
Super super random but yeah, it's a nice video anyway.
I loved how Ishihara went out of his way to say "all news are over, there are no more news, this is just music now, no new news are happening" because he definitely knows his audience
Well I guess I prefer when pre-order bonuses are underwhelming so people who miss it aren't missing much but damn are those two really underwhelming hahaha
I love the idea, the satire, the humour and the art style. I just really don't like dungeon crawlers, I'm terrible at them. I played the demo on Steam and just couldn't get into it even though I really really wanted to. Oh, well... that's life.
@Ventilator Thanks for the tip and I do believe you, but between Animal Crossing, Cyberpunk and other smaller stuff, I've bought too many games this year already for the price they're charging (tax conversion is though here in Brazil, ) let alone finish! I'll keep a very close eye on this one though
Pleeeease be true, I'm not buying it on Steam until someone confirms it's officially not coming to the Switch. This is the type of game I wanna play on a Nintendo platform!
I do think Sword and Shield have the best user interface out of Pokémon games by far. Things like being able to use multiple items at once is a godsend and the "sort by type" function has been there since forever. To be honest there's not much bothering me about it right now, they're going in a great direction
@WoomyNNYes our eShop doesn't work in the system, we have to buy through a web browser (can be a mobile phone), with the options of using a credit card or an invoice barcode, and then either typing the download code in the Switch or clicking in the email we receive and it automatically downloads in the system. It's cumbersome but viable and much cheaper than physical game imports. Here is the address: loja.nintendo.com.br
This comes right after the digital-only Brazilian eShop adjusted it's prices for the most recent first party titles (Paper Mario and the upcoming Pikmin 3).... "Adjusted" means it's still cheaper than a direct Dollar to Real conversion, but saw basically and increase of $10 in our local currency, which is... a lot. Physical imported games are around $70 still, and that is too much in our current economy. I wonder how will this official distribution handle game prices.
I'd love it because I started the game and shortly after me and my ex broke up so I had to give him back the game and the motion control plus thingy. I wasn't really liking the game as much as other Zeldas, but I just kind of want to finish it, so yeah, immediate buy for me
@echoplex Damn it'll probably only appear in my southern hemisphere island around December. My beaches are looking so barren and I hate using custom designs to pretend they're beach towels
Yeah that was a really nice series, the animation was superb. But I kind of think it should've released before the games, as a promotional prequel to them? This ending makes a strong case for that

@RupeeClock one of the gym leaders, Viola I think, verges on stereotype. She says "fantastique" all the time. So I guess they pick and choose

Finally, I was so disappointed with the dub cast of Twilight Wings, an otherwise great series.
