Re: Nintendo Switch eShop Launches In Brazil Next Week With 400 Games Available On Day One

dux

@Pod conversion rates are going up month by month so it's kind of hard to predict but in the current website for digital purchases, loja.nintendo.com.br newer games are being sold for R$300 (roughly $56) while some older games (like Animal crossing, to give you an idea of how fast exchange rates are going up) are still R$250 (roughly $47), so yeah, Nintendo is willing to take a smaller cut to cater to our sadly collapsing market. I'd bet R$300 to be standardized for the eShop. Obviously, they can only manage to do that because no physical games are sold by Nintendo in Brazil right now (existing physical copies are only of the imported variety)

@RCGamer yeah which is the right way to do it, they shouldn't erase the other version to support a new one.
Actually, tying the type of Portuguese to the continent is quite clever of them, are any other languages similarly separated like that? English and French, possibly? Spanish? I get so used to seeing "Português (Brasil)" and "Português (Europeu)" always that a more elegant solution like this actually stands out

@Charinzardon there was a website in a browser, not a proper eShop like the 3DS and WiiU have. Starting December 7th you can buy directly from your system. This wasn't possible before, you needed a web browser in a phone or computer to buy digital games.

sobbing in excitement due to the Brazilian Portuguese support sorry Portugal, I like you and all but your words for modern things are WEIRD.
Also, a proper eShop for Brazil! With more than 30 or so titles! The ability to aend photos to phones, so I can actually crop them before posting! I love all of it, yes!

I wonder how my Southern Hemisphere island will look with those Turkey Day decorations. Halloween was weird, Nook`s Cranny had tulips until September, in October carved pumpkings where at the front and now I'm back at tulips. Also, there were uncarved pumpkins around April.
Will I have Maple Leaf Resident Services even though there are no Maple Leaves around my Island? At least with the pumpkins I could actually harvest them and see them around hahaha

Re: The Company Behind Control's Cloud Version Is Bringing More "Major" Titles To Switch

It's not available on my region but I have great internet so I'm curious to at least try..... But I'm not sure actually buying it from another region would work. This is my only issue with cloud gaming, I get people are worried about ownership and I think it's a valid concern, but I also watch movies on Netflix and listen to songs on Spotify, I own nothing. That's just the world we live in, and control will keep existing physically in other platforms for conservation's sake

Re: Poll: One Year Later, How Are You Getting On With Ring Fit Adventure?

dux

Still isn't available here in Brazil so I bought it January when my siste brought it over from the UK. Boy if I only knew how much I'd need it.... It's basically my only source of exercise now since the pandemic started. I haven't been able to hop in every day because of work commitments, but I'm around day 130 and I did notice some significant changes to my body. Thanks, Nintendo!

Re: The Switch Version Of The Outer Worlds Is Getting A Patch Next Week

dux

As with most people here, I gave up on buying it after seeing the reviews and pre-release footage. I'm glad they're at least acknowledging the issues and trying to patch it, even though that's a tad late. If the patch ends up significantly improving both visuals and performance I will finally buy it, because I really want to, but as it stands now they're not deserving my money.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 10th)

I just bought a used copy of Odyssey and played hours and hours if it yesterday! I never managed to finish a single Mario game and I'm terrible at platforming, so I don't know why I even bought it in the first place, but that game is so good! Every single Moon makes me smile! I think it's exactly what I needed after a long work week.

Re: The Nintendo Switch Is Officially Launching In Brazil

@WoomyNNYes our eShop doesn't work in the system, we have to buy through a web browser (can be a mobile phone), with the options of using a credit card or an invoice barcode, and then either typing the download code in the Switch or clicking in the email we receive and it automatically downloads in the system. It's cumbersome but viable and much cheaper than physical game imports. Here is the address: loja.nintendo.com.br

Re: The Nintendo Switch Is Officially Launching In Brazil

This comes right after the digital-only Brazilian eShop adjusted it's prices for the most recent first party titles (Paper Mario and the upcoming Pikmin 3).... "Adjusted" means it's still cheaper than a direct Dollar to Real conversion, but saw basically and increase of $10 in our local currency, which is... a lot. Physical imported games are around $70 still, and that is too much in our current economy. I wonder how will this official distribution handle game prices.
