@nkarafo the demo was the Switch 1 version because the Switch 2 Edition didn’t exist yet, which is why it was capped at 30fps

I still haven’t bought the game yet, but I think going for a physical Switch 1 copy and then getting the upgrade pack is gonna be my route. This way I can get the game itself a little bit earlier

Could this not just be an update to the existing app?

If they’re going to go through all that effort to lip sync the cutscenes then yeah we need voice acting. I’m fine with the main text bubbles not having it but the cutscenes being silent is so jarring

Considering “first three months” only goes until September, and the thing also sold over two million in Japan so far, I’d guess total sales are probably around the 7 to 8 million mark now

Maybe Nintendo is experimenting more with doing multimedia stuff - just releasing original short films for now, creating shows and movies out of original IP later?

Crazy to look back and see where it all started… to think there was only the DS and upcoming Wii to really talk about back then…

did not know there were mega man rpgs outside of battle network… hopefully these find a new modern audience tho

Also, at least according to Nintendo’s Instagram page, these rereleases have some additional new content added - namely new Storybook stuff and an Assist mode.

I also noticed a lot of the UI has switched over to the new Mario font, which wasn’t the case in 3D All-Stars.

Even so these are sooo overpriced

Metroid doesn’t have nearly the appeal of most other Nintendo series, even with the mega popularity boost Dread had. Unless they really want to release two games in the same month, pushing it into 2026 would be a safe bet to actually have enough time to market the game - I feel like we still know almost nothing about MP4’s overall mechanics, story, etc. Plus, pushing it to next year would give the Switch a nice swan song sorta year

Might be worth a try to be honest. I don’t mind a silly lil Mario app

@Shmoo 30fps is NOT that big of a deal. Disappointing for a 3-teraflop console, sure, but still playable at least. The only games where it matters in my opinion are shooters and fighting games.

Yeah this definitely had Odyssey DNA in it, from the graphics/UI style to the two-player mode giving player 2 a very minor role, I know Odyssey isn’t the only game EPD8 has developed, but this screams “Odyssey team made this”

Still waiting on 3D World’s banger soundtrack to arrive… I wish they would add more than 1 game per week, like maybe add another one mid-week

I like Kevin’s take on the Mario characters - it’s familiar, but also different, even if I think it could still use some improvement. My only complaint here though is… Kevin’s Waluigi was so good in Jamboree, what the heck happened to him in this game???

8 Deluxe takes the cake for me, it’s simply the most built-up, well-polished Mario Kart experience with the biggest variety of modes and a ton of content.
Wii is probably my second favorite, even though I hate it - it’s sorta in a sense that I hate it in a way that keeps me coming back. There’s so much charm with probably the best Nitro tracks in the series and the difficulty keeps me playing again and again.
World is so far my third pick, it’s a great game and it’s always nice to see Nintendo trying new things with an established formula, but I feel it has a lot of missed potential as well. There could’ve been much more to it.

Really wanting more info on this game, as I’m planning on buying it. Need more games… Mario Kart gets old after a while…

Underwhelming as a follow-up to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, but still a good game in its own right. Good, but not the best.

Planet Robobot was peak, but I already have it on 3DS so I’ll probably be skipping this. Probably. Then again, I also double-dipped on Miitopia, and every Wii U game ever… sigh…

All these soundtracks are nice (and the DS crunchiness has a nice charm to it) but the fact Super Mario 3D World isn’t on the app kind of baffles me

This is cool but 3D World when? It makes no sense not to have one of the best Mario soundtracks on there

But how will people play it without any emulators?

Thank goodness it’s coming out on PC, that and the Switch 2 being backwards compatible, otherwise this game would definitely flop due to the super late release

Still hoping this isn’t the final design, I mean, Wii to Wii U had at least an updated design language, so did DS to 3DS; the Switch 2 leak literally looks the exact same as the OLED but bigger

This is just a larger Switch OLED - and frankly, it looks kinda ugly.

Battery life seems kinda eh, but otherwise this looks super cool. I have a fake no-brand GCN controller, I wonder if it would work with that as well since it uses pretty much the same mold

I honestly think a game in this art style would look better at 30fps anyway, there are some games I simply can’t imagine running at 60

I find it interesting they’re still rendering the Miis in the Wii U style, I wonder how they’ll handle Miis with newer hair/eye colors and glasses styles…

They’re definitely gonna redesign that DK figure if this becomes an official set. As for chances that will happen, don’t get your hopes up, a lot of Lego Ideas sets get denied
