Re: Rumour: Mii Fighter amiibo Might Be a Toys "R" Us Exclusive in North America

If these Amiibo have to be store I'm glad its through TRU. So far from my experience TRU has handled the exclusive situation far better than other retailers. And judging from the stock situation from the last wave there should be plenty of supply for everyone who doesn't wait around forever to purchase them. In my area there are still multiples of Bowser Jr. available for purchase on TRU shelves.

There were a couple restocks of Wave 1-3 Amiibo throughout the summer (at least in Canada). I personally went from having just Samus to a complete up-to-date set. There still wasn't enough but it was a huge improvement over the piddly initial supply. The most recent wave of Amiibos was also pretty plentiful with only ZSSamus in shortage. I think the age of 'unicorns' is over.

@Crimson_Ridley Tom Cruise also helps produce the movies he's in. He gets a bigger take because he takes a bigger risk. VAs don't have remotely that kind of involvement in their projects.

But yeah, if VAs think they can get away with a strike go right ahead. This would be the perfect opportunity for the industry to find some fresh new talent instead of listening to the same handful of actors in every single game.

@ToxieDogg I got my copy in the mail and SK2 is light years ahead of Burst in every possible way. If NL gave SK2 a 6/10 when it gave Burst a 8/10 you know there's some serious inconsistency. NL should definitely have gotten the same reviewer to compare both games.

Despite the bias towards the sexual content the remarks about repetitiveness are largely accurate. Personally I love the SK series and even I would never rate it more than 7/10. But there's a kind of spectacle and zen when performing combos which overrides the tedium which you either get or don't. Anyone who's ever played games like Marvel Vs. Capcom can relate to that.

No worries. I'm going to be buying two copies of SK2 to play with my buddy who doesn't buy echi games. Not that he doesn't like them, he's just embarrassed to pay for them. =)

@JoseAcosta My research has come up with $15.99 CAD. Plus for the first month gamers that downloaded the demo earlier in the summer get a 15% discount.

I got to try out an early build of Runbow at an indie con in 2014 and was totally captivated by it. Since then I've been patiently waiting for some word, ANY word, of it's release date. The fact that the first word we get is "it'll be out later next week" just has me so stoked. =)

@Garet_Jax Oh you know it! I've been waiting forever for Runbow to get a release date and for Nintendo to drop it so close to street date is kind of weird. Hopefully the lack of marketing doesn't hurt the game's sales because Runbow deserves everyone's money. =)

Re: Review: Devil's Third (Wii U)

Given the over indulgent previews NL gave DT I pratically expect this game to receive a sub-zero score. I've enjoyed many games which got less than stellar reviews in the past though. Likewise there are plenty of critically acclaimed games which I took extreme grievance with. Gonna have to try it myself and disregard the reviews.

Re: Talking Point: The Argument For And Against amiibo-Cloning Tool Amiiqo

dariusq

I'd be OK with someone else using Amiiqo for personal use because some of these figs can be ridiculously hard to find or overly expensive. For me though nothing but the real deal will do. As a collector the figure itself is important to me so having virtual Amiibo is a waste of time, not unlike digital only video games.
