The next Splatoon Splatfest kicks off this weekend, which will be an awesome Transformers event in North America and a little more generic in Europe. There'll also be a couple of new weapons to try out when it all goes down.
You can see the new weapons below, which include the coolest use of Bamboo in the history of mankind.
As you can see these are due to go live on 28th August at 7pm Pacific / 10pm Eastern in North America, which is a 3am UK / 4am CET European release on 29th August.
Are you planning to try these out in the upcoming Splatfest?

well color me bamboozled.
oh somebody had to do it, I'll see me myself out.
can't wait to bamBoo you...
sorry I'll stop now.
a new Nozzlenose? Hmmm. When I first tried the L-3 Nozzlenose, I was at first wondering who the heck would want a rapidfire weapon that requires so much button mashing to keep firing. But if you actually stick with it, it has great range, pretty good rate of fire and uses up little ink. I was surprised how effective it was since I dismissed it entirely with my first impression.
I imagine this new Nozzlenose will be largely the same, but with different subs. Will be cool to try out!
@ThomasBW84 Easter?? Lol
what class is the bamboozler? i assume charger.
Great! New charger weapons are always welcomed
The Bamboozler looks like it's the weapon the inkling they used in the great turf war against the octolings.
The Bamboozler looks like a bong.
Bamboo weapon is a charger? Bamboom Headshot!!
2 hours before the Splatfest celebrating the release of Transformers: Devastation on PS3, PS4, Xbox360, Xbox One and PC? Splatoon is busy, busy, busy. Wish Wii U was so busy.
We give Activision DK and Bowser for Skylanders but they can't give us this? Big meanies.
So apparently the Bamboozler is a mobile charger that has long range and short charges, but balances it with the inability to one shot. It sounds interesting, and a nice contrast to the slower and more predictable chargers.
I swear that one looks like a pogo stick. That would add a new level of insanity to the game.
During Splatfest expect everyone to be using buckets
See you guys on Splatfest once again ! Look out for me peeps > Gameday J Team Autobots #AutoWin
I know that NoE's choices for Splatfest aren't as cool as the NoA Transformers options (Roll out Autobots), but is there any consensus on Singing or Dancing?
Splatfest is a good reason to try out new weapons. Playing mostly Ranked Mode I seem to stick to my trusty Splattershot Pro.
I'm really looking forward to this weekends European Splatfest! This Saturday is Michael Jacksons birthday, he would have been 57 on August 29th, I've convinced myself someone at Nintendo is an MJ fan, hence the Singing Vs. Dancing theme lol. I'm going with dancing by the way, hopefully we'll MoonWalk to victory! Look out for me, I'm MoonWalker for the weekend! My son is WeeJamie, he's only four and he's genuinely awesome at the game, Level 20!
I'll give these a try but probably not during Splatfest. Gotta make every match with my Autobot comrades count so I'll be bringing my A game. =)
@rjejr Give us what? Transformers in Splatoon?
But these are neither new Splatling or new Slosher. Not interested!
@whodatninja ...but it does include a whole new style of charger. That's something, right?
Not really interested in either weapon but I'll be splatting this Splatfest for Team Decepticon!
@Jayvir Don't you know the Autobots always win?
Is there a weapon that's like a paintball gun? Would fire like a real bullet and explode when it hits.
@whodatninja While I like the idea of Transformer skins/gear in Spaltoon I was talking about this game from Platinum, due out Oct 6 FYI.
I really like the weapon made out of bamboo! I cannot wait to use it. I'm not a huge fan of the l-3 nozlenose, but I'll check it out anyway. More than that however, I am wondering when the new weapon types (Slosher and Splatling) will get variations.
The bamboo weapon looks really cool! I'll be sure to try it out. It looks like it will be a lot better in turf wars than other chargers, since it can shoot a long way and charge up quickly.
I use Charger weapons more than anything because of their safety to use and ability to completely control an area of a map (with good aim of course), but a Charger that doesn't kill in one shot? I'll try it out because I like the sub, special, and the weapon class, but that would seem like a huge handicap. Nonetheless, it definitely adds to the diversity of Splatoon's weapons.
I wish every game got the support Splatoon has been getting.
@whodatninja Yep, me neither! I'm still waiting for the Splatling (and maybe Slosher) with different setups.
That said, I'm totally frustrated right now... it seems like in Rainmaker most of the time you get teamed up with complete idiots! The Rainmaker is slower and vulnerable in close combat, so not only do your teammates have to protect you, the also LITERALLY got to have your BACK! Everytime I pick up the Rainmaker my teammates run forward and leave my back completely open, so that one of the enemies can sneak behind us and kill me. Either that or your teammates leave you completely alone with the Rainmaker and don't even respond to your "to me" signal. Sometimes I got trough to the enemy base on my own, but most of the time you just die because your team doesn't support you. I don't know if those people are just too dumb or just don't care, but it's really annoying at times.
@bigislandhikers I think you'd call those blasters. People that are good with blasters (especially the Luna Blaster) are awesome when they are on your team, sucks when on the opposition.
@shani I get frustrated on tower and rainmaker, though I love those modes. My last game of the night we likely would have won if our 4th player was helping to guard the tower instead of off painting the central area... at the end of the match... I would have hoped in the "A" ranks that those type of players get weeded out, but not yet.
@SavoirFaire Yeah I know what you mean. I was also hoping that this kind of thing wouldn't be an issue on higher ranks (currently only B- myself). I mean, I can definitely feel a difference between C and B players, so naturally I thought players with A and S ranks should be playing way more serious and focussed.
At times it seems like some players - even on non-noob ranks - are only playing to score as much kills as possible. Maybe it's just a mood-related thing? Like, a guy with an A rank usually playing for his team, but now and then he just boots up Splatoon to make some frags?
But well, at least there is the option of playing squad battles. I did so for the first time today through the Splatoon thread in the Nintendolife forum.
I played with/against only a few S rank players in private battles and those guys were definitely playing better than everyone else.
Hopefully I'll find time try these out, let alone participate in splatfest
Just bought this and doing the updates etc. Hope its good, Ive done pretty much 10 years of the battlefield series as recon and vehicles so hopefully will have a lot of fun in a vastly different setting, certainly looks colorful!
