@Blastcorp64 There are a bunch of different Transformers series. The one Platinum is licensed to make (ie. Gen1) is different from the one being promoted in Splatfest (ie. Transformers: Robots in Disguise 2015). Maybe we'll see a future WiiU game based on this newer series.
Nice. I saw this before at an indie con and was kind of bummed it wasn't available on consoles. Picked up both soundtrack CDs though to listen to in the car. =)
Loose lips sink ships, especially if its part of your contract not to speak out. At least Pranger isn't making excuses and fully owns up to his mistake. Why people are always petitioning for leniency towards rule breakers is ridiculous.
There have been plenty of games which got less than stellar reviews which I have enjoyed enormously (eg. any Nintendo game reviewed by Gamespot). It re-enforces that online reviews mean jack squat when it comes to personal tastes. You really do have to try it out for yourself.
Please no. Lord of Shadows was sooooo boring and on rails it hardly befits being called a Castlevania game. Just one more attempt to force feed a AAA experience into something which doesn't need it.
@Nintendian The concept of "Streetpass" (not sure if that qualifies as NFC) use was available during the 90s in Docomo cellphones, they just never came over here. Before the Smartphone boom Japan was decades ahead of the world in terms of mobile phones.
Depending on how you look at it Fantasy Life is an OCD gamer's wet dream or nightmare. There is a metric ton of stuff to do in this game and way more than a casual player will likely have time for. I did have some issues with the sheer amount of mundane story text no matter how cleverly written. I also had problems with the warp system which while normally outstanding is cut off when players are transporting bounty rewards (when you'd want to use it the most).
@rjejr Its an aesthetic thing. The Octarian hairdo makes it even more apparent that their hair is mass of tentacles. Same reason why the Girl Inklings look cool and the Boy Inklings look stupid.
IMO we need a study that more effectively evaluates the user base. Hardcore has nothing to do with taste in games and everything to do with how much time and money you put into it. I have a cousin who has invested more than $200 in DLC for Marvel's Contest of Champions app. If that doesn't qualify as hardcore nothing does.
@Sunnyleafs Thanks! I managed to get my pre-order in-store though. My local EB was allocated 110 Retro 3-packs so most everyone who wanted one got one. Hopefully Nintendo's supply figures are accurate. =)
I'm confident enough that both versions will be coming westward. My guess is that Amazon and Best Buy just have placeholders and whoever maintains their websites just doesn't know enough about the product to have both versions up.
@DarthNocturnal Except for the early open this has been confirmed for EB Games in Canada. Source is pretty reliable too. Personally I'd rather be home playing Splatfest at that hour but I'm not taking any chances.
@Wolfgabe The issue is that Nintendo are poor judges of what would be good to import. Playing it ultra conservative means they've avoided potential disasters like Captain Rainbow but also blown it by overlooking Operation Rainfall (ie. Xenoblade Chronicles, The Last Story, and Pandora's Tower). By now they should have developed some means to better gauge what would be a hit in the West.
I'm a collector too so given the choice I will always opt for a physical copy (LE if available). Bayonetta 2 takes the cake though for extras. I like me some knick-knack trinkets and all but nothing beats having a fully remastered additional game for free.
I'm hoping that if this is an exclusive it goes to TRU. In my experience they handled the exclusivity situation the best by far having significant supply (+100 units) in-store at multiple locations.
At this point the game is never going to meet expectations either in quality or timeliness. I have no idea what is taking so long but I'm almost certain it has to do with mismanagement.
I thought Gamestop/EB Games had already officially sworn off pre-orders for Amiibos because of the production issues. If the rumours are true this would certainly be a poor 180 choice.
Pixels isn't nearly as bad as most critics would have you believe. This is definitely a nostalgia film though so if you're not old enough to remember the 80s arcade scene you're not going to 'get it'.
I got to play an early build of Runbow last year at an indie con and it was hands down the best game of the show. After trying the most recent demo I am super anxious waiting for the final release.
@ToxieDogg When you take out the moe component both Senran Kagura and Onechanbara are both modern representations of classic beat-em-ups like Double Dragon, Final Fight, and Streets of Rage. Light on story but awesome combat albeit repetitive.
I say this all the time but Nintendo either needs to court 3rd parties more eloquently or beef up their internal studios so they can get a more consistent software release schedule.
Seriously Nintendo?! I guess in theory these will be easier to reproduce so the turn around should be significantly shorter. Still pretty short sighted production.
The experience system was based more on playtime than skill. If you won more often leveling up was a bit faster but inevitably all you needed to do was play for X hours which in a game this addictive wasn't hard. There's still plenty to do once you've reached lvl 20 though like getting better gear.
If you had to choose between the two then Takeda is a much better fit. Miyamoto's role as a developer is too important to make him a business exec and he probably wouldn't accept the job if appointed on a permanent basis. Takeda has more proven business acumen too.
Of all the people who knew Iwata on a professional level Sakurai's impression of the man is the one I value most. When you've had a strong working relationship with someone over such a long period of time you can't help but have camaraderie with them.
Its amazing what you can file a patent for without having to be more descriptive. With such a generic description I'm surprised Quintal didn't go after cellphone manufacturers as well.

Re: There's Another New Map Coming To Splatoon
I kind of like how they content has been released over time to keep the game fresh. This is especially true about the weapons.
Re: Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Director's Cut Getting Physical Release In North America
The video reminds me a lot of Sonic.
Re: What Can be Said About This SENRAN KAGURA 2: Deep Crimson Collector's Edition Unboxing?
I'm getting the neutered NA physical edition because I can't justify the cost of the EU exclusives without a playable copy of the game (my 3DS is NA).

@PaperLucario They can stop after they do GI Joe.

I'd wear my Autobot shirt full-time if they didn't have to be returned after Splatfest.
