Re: Ubisoft's Prince Of Persia Remake Expected By 2026, But It's Delaying Other Major IP

I'm in this odd place where, while I'm not a big fan of Ubisoft and especially their business practices, I see a sliver of integrity in them not taking the easy way out and just putting that obvious garbage out into the world. Probably should have been obvious to them before they put that trailer out there (and they probably only put it out to see if they could get away with it. I'd better stop typing before I completely destroy my own argument.)

Re: GameStop Apparently Investigating New York Store Over Sus Switch 2 Bundle Sales

When I bought my PS2 the store I bought it from in 2000 (KB Toys I think?) forced me to buy a 400 dollar bundle. I had to buy 3 games and a controller. At the time there were only like 3 games out for the thing so I got Chrono Cross and Metal Gear Solid. The PS2 game I bought was The Bouncer. So basically it was just a DVD player for months.
I would have said it was an expensive DVD player but honestly $400 was about what DVD players cost back then.

Re: Nintendo Of America President On Timing Of Switch 2's Release Date

@sd7232 In 1992 12 year old me was at Babbage's (old electronics chain) in the mall, and to my surprise they had Zelda ALTTP for sale two weeks early. The associate informed me that they had stocked it in error and they'd have to remove it from the shelf, but I could buy one anyway. I guess it's not like I was going to dump the ROM on the internet or whatever.

Re: Marvelous USA Confirms Its Switch 2 Physical Releases Will Contain The "Full Game"

Honestly I like key cards. A lot of publishers were basically doing it anyway, this just adds a layer of transparency. If there's a Switch game on physical that only has like 1/8th of the game on it, then I avoid it like the plague. It might even dissuade me from buying digitally, as I don't like supporting devs that obfuscate like that. But if they're up front about it being a key? Well, it's better. At the very least it's better. But good for these cats.

Re: Poll: So, Did You Manage To Get A Switch 2 Pre-Order In? (North America)

@MikeHiscoe Staples you say? Here's a helpful hint for anyone with access to a dying retailer! I got my Wii from Roses in 2006 (older Americans are probably confused that Roses was still open in 2006, younger ones might not have even heard of Roses. There's still one open 25 miles from my house) I got my Wii U from K Mart (It was actually really hard to get when it first launched.) I got my switch online, but Roses had them a week after launch. Also got a copy of Illusion Of Gaia for the SNES there in 1999, and it was the special edition with a T-shirt pack in. Had to have been sitting there for like at least 5 years. Oh yeah, the tip is to try shopping at one of these places for it when it launches of you hadn't guessed.

Re: Video: Nintendo Today Gives Us Another Look At SoulCalibur II For Switch 2 Online

@Uncle_Franklin If I recall correctly there are a few characters in the game whose throws are broken. I don't remember whether Link was more broken than the others (I wanna say Raphael?) but it was bad enough that I avoided playing certain characters, Link being a particular disappointment. It was OP enough that my girlfriend at the time was able to easily dominate the game with literally zero fighting game experience.

Re: Nintendo Switch 2 US Pre-Orders Start 24th April, System & Launch Game Pricing Unchanged

@OldGamer999 Me too, bud. I admit that I didn't buy that one, since I was only 7. I did buy the SNES with my allowance though. It took all year at 5 bucks a week. I assume kids these days might get at least 10, which would only put them about two months behind me. I doubt they'd be able to buy as many chicken McNuggets as I was though, since they're up well over 200% these days.

Re: Zelda Dev "Wasn't Too Pleased" About Working On 'A Link To The Past'

@batmanbud2 so the games that were built on the foundation of ALTTP were better? Go figure. Both games started as remakes of ALTTP, and there was over 20 years between ALTTP and ALBW. Are you aware that technology improved in that time? I bet you also prefer Mario Odyssey to Super Mario Bros. Unfortunately we didn't have Odyssey back then.
