@MikeHiscoe Staples you say? Here's a helpful hint for anyone with access to a dying retailer! I got my Wii from Roses in 2006 (older Americans are probably confused that Roses was still open in 2006, younger ones might not have even heard of Roses. There's still one open 25 miles from my house) I got my Wii U from K Mart (It was actually really hard to get when it first launched.) I got my switch online, but Roses had them a week after launch. Also got a copy of Illusion Of Gaia for the SNES there in 1999, and it was the special edition with a T-shirt pack in. Had to have been sitting there for like at least 5 years. Oh yeah, the tip is to try shopping at one of these places for it when it launches of you hadn't guessed.

My local GameStop still has like 25 left to sell as of 2:30 pm. This would have been the first Nintendo launch I missed if I hadn't gone in. The relief is palpable.

@Uncle_Franklin If I recall correctly there are a few characters in the game whose throws are broken. I don't remember whether Link was more broken than the others (I wanna say Raphael?) but it was bad enough that I avoided playing certain characters, Link being a particular disappointment. It was OP enough that my girlfriend at the time was able to easily dominate the game with literally zero fighting game experience.

@OldGamer999 Me too, bud. I admit that I didn't buy that one, since I was only 7. I did buy the SNES with my allowance though. It took all year at 5 bucks a week. I assume kids these days might get at least 10, which would only put them about two months behind me. I doubt they'd be able to buy as many chicken McNuggets as I was though, since they're up well over 200% these days.

@OldGamer999 Dude I was there, too. When the GameCube launched it cost more than my half of the rent. I had to skip the N64 because my full time job only paid $4.50 an hour. Are you actually old or is it just a handle?

@Bunkerneath It may contain a Switch 1 cart with the upgrade as a download. This is very much a possibility as we already know you have to download the upgrade.

Yeah I had no idea these upgrades were free for NSO users. That's honestly pretty great. At this point the service is actually worth it without this bonus. I still think 500 dollars is an outrage. An outrage!

@ScalenePowers Yeah, Mario Maker 3 is a no brainer. I could have seen them doing Mario Maker Deluxe instead of MM2 when Switch launched, but that's not what we got so now it's iterative.

Could be much higher if they ever rereleased it on consoles. Wouldn't even have to be a remake or remaster.

@NatiaAdamo This is an angle that many people ignore when we talk about this. Nintendo clearly screwed Sony over royally, but let's not pretend that they may have had no choice but to do the screwing. Look at Sony today. I love my PlayStations but that company is f***in' evil.

It certainly couldn't be any worse, that's for sure. Switch voice chat is a complete joke, and honestly, getting rid of it entirely would be an improvement.

I'm so excited to revisit this game. The first time I played through, Monster Hunter World came out. And I was so close to the end! But monhun... (Luckily I don't have the proper hardware for Wilds or I'd be screwed this time too!

I expect $399. $499 is my cap but I'll be pissed off if it's that high. I've bought every Nintendo console on launch day save for the NES (because I was five) and I'm not gonna stop now.

@batmanbud2 so the games that were built on the foundation of ALTTP were better? Go figure. Both games started as remakes of ALTTP, and there was over 20 years between ALTTP and ALBW. Are you aware that technology improved in that time? I bet you also prefer Mario Odyssey to Super Mario Bros. Unfortunately we didn't have Odyssey back then.

@-wc- As the Wii U is one of my favorite consoles of all time, I can get behind that.

@-wc- The PS2's numbers would be more impressive if it wasn't also one of the cheapest DVD players you could get for a few key years.

I stopped caring about this game ten years ago. I stopped wanting this game when I saw the trailer 7 years ago. At this point I want them to retroactively unrelease the original and I am willing to lose at least some portion of my soul in a black magic ritual to make it happen if necessary.

@garfreek If you're not aware, all of the locations are hand built dioramas and they're gorgeous.

Where's "The Last Story," Mistwalker? Huh? I got muh Xenoblade Chronicles X, I need more now! (TLS is so underrated, I never hear anyone talk about it.)

Listen guys I gotta' be real, I'm not one of those fps clowns but this thing is like barely running at 0.23 fps for me with long dips into 0.008 fps territory. Something's gotta' give.

@Daniel36 you must've been playing a heavily modded version of Minecraft. All you have to do is take to villagers, move them to your new village, put down some beds and give them food.

They're sort of lined up with Zelda 1 and Zelda 2, which would support my theory that botw and totk are "remakes" of the first two games. First game, Hyrule is in ruins and we rescue Zelda from Ganon. Second game Ganon is reborn and we rescue an ancient Zelda who has been sleeping for thousands of years. There are a lot of discrepancies but the story was just in the instruction booklet anyway.

I guess a lot of people played this as kids, or with their kids, but I bought and played it as an adult. I'm not a Disney guy, I particularly don't care about Mickey, but the art direction and story seemed too compelling for me to miss, despite the middling to poor reviews.

It played like absolute garbage. And I love waggle! It was an unmitigated disaster and I got about 1/3 of the way through it before shelving it permanently. Maybe if I was a die hard Mickey Mouse fan I could have finished it, but the thing was broken. If it had been an original character in an original world we would never get this remake and nobody would care.
That said, with all I've read about this game so far, perhaps I'll actually double dip one day.

@ArcticEcho get CrossCode it's incredible. I went about a year where I kept trying to play new games (or games in my backlog) and I couldn't get into any of them. CrossCode broke the curse.

@World fair enough. I think the twist still holds up but I'm def not gonna' try and talk you into playing it. The story kind of takes a back seat to the gameplay anyway and it's a bit tired at this point (and as others have noted the creator is a bit of a jerk)

@World The story is good and was almost universally well received? It's also about the atomic age, so not very 2000s ... Not sure how you "look up" things that are so subjective anyway.
