@sevex my thumbs are really messed up because I'm old/I'm a manual laborer, and I pretty much can't use a normal D pad anymore. A tremendous fall for someone who beat Zelda 2 at 9 years old. These weird things usually give me a lot more leverage and control. Of course even I'd want it to be optional, and also not on a Joy-con, because my hands are the size of hams.

Update 2/14/26 my wife started playing it and now she's in love.

I'm real glad we got the IR sensor and magnets instead of an analog trigger. Thanks Nintendo.

@Cakefish I love child of light and many other Ubisoft products, but we've all been dumbstruck by Ubisoft's decision making for well over 20 years. Believe it or not, the first sign they were run by idiots was when they recast the prince for Prince Of Persia: Warrior Within and got Godsmack to do the soundtrack. Now, that game was good, don't misunderstand me, but one of the OG sands of time's biggest assets was the Prince's voice actor. These decisions were so tone deaf that they got the original guy (Yuri Lowenthal) back for the third game. Godsmack also failed to return, thankfully.

In other news, Ubisoft has only six months to live.

Hopefully my feelings about him are wrong and he'll turn Hasbro around. But my gut says he'll fit in fine, and that's no compliment.

I saw the words "not unlike" close to the words "Nier Automata" so I bought it.

I love this, but Lego has been way overpriced for decades and it's just getting worse. I'm going to go way, way out on a limb here and say that's not an unpopular opinion.

@somnambulance I just really missed having the three controllable characters. I enjoyed 4, but I haven't played it once since the credits rolled, and I replayed 3 immediately after beating it. (I'm 46 so it's not because I was a kid back then either ☺️)

@DennisReynolds it runs fine on my 200 dollar micro PC with an integrated graphics card, and it also runs on the Steam Deck, which is less powerful than the Switch 2.

@somnambulance it's my favorite by a mile. I haven't played the Switch version, but the Wii U version really showed the strengths of the gamepad. I was pretty disappointed in 4 tbh

@Don Konami probably doesn't have much say over whether Nintendo localizes Mother 3. That's probably for the best, though, they'd just localize it into a pinball machine.

@Picola-Wicola it's basically just a day night cycle. Each day is over 20 minutes long, and once you start leveling up and upgrading your tools the limits become even less relevant. Whenever I see this complaint I know that the person making the complaint only played for like 2 in game days.

@Yoshi3 I was just thinking about this game the other day. People probably don't remember just how much they hyped this game up- it was everywhere.

@Mirage-5x5 wait until he calls her the master of unlocking. I know I've spoiled it for you, but you'll probably still pee your pants a little when you get to that part- it's just that terrifying.

While its gameplay is typically not described favorably, this game's story and aesthetics have seen near universal praise. Some people seem to hate it a disproportionate amount and I can't seem to figure out why.

Looks great. Maybe slightly divisive, but it seems to be really well liked by those who found it. I'm certainly going to be giving it a go.

Village was a great game, but it starts on a really high note and it's all downhill from Lady Demetrescu's castle. If Capcom has any idea what they're doing they need to bring her back. I don't care if it's fan service, she's the most compelling villain in the series by far.

@shgamer it's capped at 30 fps and in my experience it crashes nonstop on Switch 2.

@JohnnyMind good choice on 4. It's the only game in the series I've enjoyed, but it's probably still in my top 10 games of all time.

Paramount would be worse.

Hoping for a switch 2 version soon myself. I know it took years for PS5 to get it, but remember, PS4 used legacy console edition for years while Switch had bedrock and crossplay. Sony was likely the hurdle, and that's not true of Nintendo. Microsoft and Nintendo had a whole marketing campaign together mocking Sony over it.

@Polvasti I like your optimism, but to put that into perspective, The original Psychonauts came out only 3 years before they announced beyond good and evil 2. So this game has been in DEVELOPMENT for longer than the entire gap between both Psychonauts games.

It's been so long since the first game that some of the people who worked on the first one could have died of old age. Nobody wants this anymore, even if they think they do.

The one day I didn't check, it happened.

@MrCarlos46 lol sorry I figured that was the case but it did take me a lot longer than I'd care to admit to figure it out. I just really enjoy the concept of "Polish Brazilian Portuguese" as a language. Hopefully we'll get Mario Maker 3 and it will have support for these languages. Portuguese in particular is a terrible omission, it's one of the most widely spoken languages on the planet. It's not like these are massive RPGs with walls of text to read through, there's no excuse in this day and age not to include these languages.
