Re: The Current Final Fantasy Director Would Like A Chance To Work With The Zelda Series

Williaint

If there was a real LoZ RPG, this would probably the best way to go.
Square did a great job with Super Mario (and I realized that it would be a different director, now). So, I don't know how the series has been holding up.
The Newest FF I've played was 7, and haven't actually completed one since 6/3. All I know is that Final fantasy has become more about online play, recently... Might as well play Tri-Force Heroes!
Maybe if they worked with MonolithSoft...

Re: Video: The Original Starter Pokémon Look Simply Unreal On This Game Engine

Williaint

A Wii U Pokemon RPG, or MMORPG would be quite acceptable. Wii U was created to be compatible with the Unity Engine, and Unreal 4, is pretty similar. Maybe they wouldn't let some indie video-demo group work on it but...
A Pokemon MMORPG would be a lot like Monster Hunter; maybe Nintendo would get Capcom to work on it (Along with Nintendo and Gamefreak, of course).

Re: Talking Point: Raw Power Isn't Vital to Nintendo's NX, But It Does Matter

Williaint

The Gamecube was more powerful than the PS2, but it's value (with a DVD player) made it a much better option for most people. The Dreamcast was at least as powerful as the Gamecube. Power won't make a system.

Now, from all I've read, and I've been reading plenty of rumours about NX, there is no concrete evidence about the release date, or that when they said "won't compete with PS4", that they mean It will be out of PS4's league.
There's not even evidence that the NX simply attaches to the Wii U.

Now, to add to the hype:

Re: Talking Point: The Pros, Cons and Questionable Likelihood of a Nintendo NX Release in Summer 2016

Williaint

@T1m
I've made this point, not on this site, but on others. Most of Nintendo's consoles have been released in the Fall.

I'll put internet money on this: NX WILL NOT BE RELEASED NEXT YEAR. It may be REVEALED next year, possibly about this time, but it's not going to be released.

UNLESS: The NX is a standalone console, that works with the Wii U to increase it's capabilities.

This kind of display has been around for years:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flexible_display
I'm guessing Nintendo is going to be using this sort of technology on it's controller for the NX (Which will probably go by a different name, by the time it's released).

Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Approach to amiibo is Increasingly Frustrating

Williaint

Cards would have worked way better. Sure, make them expensive. $10-$15 for a pack of five. The Amiibo would become more popular, and Nintendo would be actually making a profit off them. With NFC cards, digital sales are a possibility — something that's impossible with actual figures. And hey, people want to use their smart phones, let them. Amiibos are more/as antisocial than VR gaming. With card sets, you can trade with real-live friends, for that rare card. Not exactly the case, with figures...
Since I don't own any amiibo or tried one out, I can't accurately judge how well they work. I think the figures are neat, but they really seem to be more collectables, than anything else. In 30 years, when the Nint-EGA corporation is dominating Video games, these amiibo will sell for thousands...
Until nintendo starts making Amiibo into the much more efficient and appealing cards, The only one I might get is the Yoshi one.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Attempts To Explain Why Zelda Wii U Wasn't At E3 2015

Williaint

Reggie should have simply claimed that Nintendo didn't want LoZ or "Retro's project" to take away the thunder from Star Fox, or YoKai-Watch (a game that confuses, to this day, a lot of people; they aren't sure if it's pokemon, ghostbusters, or something else). There are a lot of better choices of phrasing that Reggie could have. Now he's going to wind up stepping on his tail — or someone else's.

@GraveLordXD A lot of people were expecting a lot of secrets, surprises, and LoZ U. I wanted Advance Wars U, but I'll Probably have to wait until the NX successor, before THAT comes out for Wii U. I'd rather see a Wario and Waluigi platformer, than Mario Tennis. It would have been neat to see a new 3D Mario game, but I've wanted to create levels in Mario since I could hold a controller. Super Mario Maker is going to be a more fun PARTY game than animal crossing festival.

What ticked me off about the treehouse is their constant referral to Star Fox 64 as the original game. SF64 was close to being the 3rd game.
Star Fox: Zero should have got a better response. People got the cheesy voice acting that they wanted, they got a new Star Fox game, new Modes of transportation... and because they visit Corneria, again it's labeled remake, with new features...

QUESTIONs:
Would you Crowd-Fund a New Super Mario 3D Platformer, if that's all it took?
What if that BIG SECRET RETRO GAME was "Funky Kong's Pilotwings At Mii Island"?

I think E3 has become WAY to competitive. It's become less about games, more about show.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's E3 Digital Event?

Williaint

I loved the Muppets. I was disappointed that LoZ Wii U wasn't mentioned...
However, it would have completely overshadowed Super Mario Maker, or Star Fox: Zero.
-I'm not sure why the treehouse is always refers to "64" as the original Star Fox...
-Before E3, there were a bunch of people ranting and raving about how much they wanted Metroid Prime.

  • Where are all these Whiney-Wendys coming from?

Re: Rare Replay on Xbox One Will Include 30 Games, Including Classics from Nintendo Systems

Williaint

@brucelebnd It depends on their age. The average Xbox crowd is 10-19. I guess that's not very average... Games like Battle Toads, or games that aren't constantly supporting your attention, and have some guy online telling you how to play it...
I'm sure they'd rather put their money towards getting Oculus Rift. Yes, Oculus: for people who're too lazy to do the things they are simulating, like virtual golf or virtual soccer...
@ShoryukenKid If I were a mature adult, I'd reckon all these 'mature' titles were made for kids...

Re: Feature: Nintendo Franchises We Want to See at E3 - Pokémon

Williaint

No doubt we'll be seeing Pokemon Rumble 3D 3.
Personally, I'd love to see a fully 3D Pokemon for Wii U, even if the odds are against it.
I treat my 3DS like a home console, and NEVER take it out. It's about as mobile as my G-pad.

@Bolt_Strike
The main reason is that they (Nintendo) want to play it safe.
The reason could include the decreasing console market, which doesn't affect just Japan, but it doesn't have to do with Wii U's current user base. If you want to talk about poor sales or user bases, in Japan, look at XBOX's.
I'm sure that, even if a console Pokemon MMORPG (Or even a local RPG) was made, and even if it was a pretty crappy game, it would still sell very well, and instigate console sales. I could imagine something similar to Monster Hunter...
