Re: Super Smash Bros. Footage Revealed, Mega Man Introduced as a New Challenger

Williaint

I was EXTREMELY excited when they revealed Megaman. I thought "oh, the villager... nice..." Then they revealed Megaman And I was jumping for joy (literally, I got out of my seat and jumped!). This is great, not only for me, but for the millions who wanted Megaman in Brawl. People have made claims (more likely idle claims) they'd buy a Wii U if Megaman was in Smash bros.
BTW, what/who is Megaman shooting at the end, there?
@HeatBombastic
Well, it isn't you!
Idea-I've-been-pitching-since-Melee:
I hope, in this Smash Bros. They use Character Suits (costumes), for different types of characters. For instance: Mario/Doctor mario have a similar traits, so you'd stack them in one Character, in the selection screen. Instead of a brand new character, you'd get a 'Dr. Mario Costume' with different attributes. This would work well With "Starfox" team (wouldn't you rather be Peppy, than Starwolf?), Link, Wario (WALUIGI!), and even "Sonic" (however, tails can fly/glide, and Knuckles can glide). They sort of did this, in Brawl, with different colours/hats, but it could be built upon (I hated Biker-wario, so I always changed his clothes). This Creates just as much — if not more — replay-ability, than just getting more characters.
I hope The Smash Bros. page is updated, with relatively frequent news... like in previous games. Time to bookmark the page .

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD Sails Onto Wii U in October

Williaint

I can't wait! I've said it before and I'll say it again: this is what LTTP would look like in 3D. Then Again... " Link Between Worlds" is sort of 3D...
@Stuffgamer1
That would be a pretty good way to do it. You could even simply have that function from the G-pad.

@XavandSo
720 by 480 is scale-able to "HDMI", with little/no problems... That is what the Wii used. Actually, I believe NSMBU and some other early Wii U titles did, too. These newer games are equal to their competition, in terms of resolution. The difference is, Xbone and PS4 have greater CPU's (contrary to popular belief, it doesn't have a lot to do with the hard drive space — 500GB of internal space does not make something more powerful or faster), so they can process more textures at once... the reality is, from everything I've seen, None of these millions of textures are complimentary to gameplay... @URAlsr That was a very, very sad comment...

Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Hopping To Wii U This Year

Williaint

Retro is Nintendo's NEW Rare.
@dumedum
That's exactly true. You forgot "Madden" Nintendo isn't just hashing out sequels... This is a great sequel — They did DK's hair great justice! Just because Retro is working on this, doesn't mean it's the ONLY game they'll be working on...
Just because Nintendo hasn't used the G-pad to it's full potential, doesn't mean other companies can't do interesting stuff. Also something companies don't understand: You don't HAVE to use the G-pad!

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Biggest E3 Challenge is Getting Noticed

Williaint

Positive Attention for Nintendo, is needed; currently it's a lot of negative prejudice.
xboxONE Games I'm interested: MGS. Destiny. Spark. Stick of Truth. WoT. Not enough to keep me interested...
"Killer Instinct" looks like a remake, pardon my french...
Biggest leap in sports gaming was in 1998, when they went 3D.

Re: Rumour: Best Buy's Wii U E3 Demo List Revealed

Williaint

Well, something to think about: Remember when the Wii launched, they had several demoes on one disk... This could theoretically be a single Unit... Leaving possibility for another unit with other demoes (ie, 3D Mario U / Mario Kart U).

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Aim to Produce Mature, Genre-Defining Storytelling Experiences

Williaint

Stories really aren't that complex... any video game fits in these types (though this particular page demoes advertising):

http://www.adweek.com/news/advertising-branding/7-basic-types-stories-which-one-your-brand-telling-144164

I have a big problem with people who simply make certain prejudiced claims, insisting it as an absolute fact. Primarily, claiming "Nintendo only makes games for babies". People claiming "'360, PS3 and PC are "pure-complex-mature- games", is just as bad.

Wii U hasn't had that "Exclusive New Epic Story" game yet. This has become more of a debate whether "the last of us" is a good game... It looks pretty pretty good.

Re: Aonuma: Zelda For Wii U Will Contain More Unexpected Elements

Williaint

@DarkNinja9
Good thinking; Maybe you'll have to use a stick to keep a door open — or keep it shut. It could be you will need to organize Armies... I'd like to see some sort of epic battle, like that.

@bunnyking
It wouldn't work. The only way it could, would be some sort of a battle minigame. It would be similar to WoT. A two player "Zelda", where the second player controls the "Navi" via gamepad.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2013 - Summer Edition

Williaint

I'm most interested in "3D" Mario U, Mario Kart, and Rayman.
However, I'm very excited for Windwaker HD...
I'm not actually interested in Pikmin, but even less (not at all) interested in 'infinity' (I don't recognize many of those disney characters). I'm kinda interested in getting Game and Wario, but probably won't... might make a good gift.

Re: Hardware Classics: Nintendo Virtual Boy

Williaint

@Royalblues
Unless you've played every console, you couldn't say that.

I always wanted one. If I find a good deal on one, I may finally buy one ... sigh ... and figure out how to use the controller... The first to have two d-pads... (I originally thought they were for right/left-handed preference).

Virtual Boy Virtual Console games would be a great idea, as very few people got to play these games. They could be released as a packaged series, like the Game and Watch games.

Re: Poll: Wii U Hardware Revisions and Accessories, There's No Escape

Williaint

@Conkers64
I was going to get that "Spice" colour, but they only sold gross purple... I went with Black, and I've never seen a Purple GameCube... Or a White Wii U. I reckon I'll be seeing one, if they are 32GB...
A Great Price cut plan, to keep selling consoles during it's competitor's launch: Give the Wii U a NEW colour (Luigi Green), with "500GB" of internal memory, and keep the price the same, then drop the price of the 32GB model.

I'd like a better battery, from Nintendo, but hasn't Nyko said : http://ca.ign.com/videos/2013/01/09/new-wii-u-pro-controller-and-extended-life-batteries-ces-2013

Which means Nyko's taking a little longer to release Wii U stuff, too...

Re: Review: Kirby's Dream Land 3 (Wii U eShop / Super Nintendo)

Williaint

I got this game for SNES, hoping it would be on Par with Superstar....
It may not have been, but it was a pretty good game. My favourite is Pitch's Spark attack...
There are so many fun combinations, I still go back because I've forgotten some of them!!
Now, back to Kirby's Dream Course!

Re: Consumers Go Crazy For Wii U Following Xbox One Reveal

Williaint

People aren't going to be buying PS3s or Xboxs after the E3 news gets out people will be saying "Oh, I'm waiting for the PS4. I'm waiting for the Xbox one. Maybe even I'm waiting for a Wii U price drop."
@Razalom
A subtle defeat.
What, EA worry?
@BlackSpy
Great Gene Wilder reference

Re: Microsoft: If You're Backwards Compatible, You're Really Backwards

Williaint

I loved the Wii's backwards compatibility with Gamecube. The GB and DS systems are great. Now, I have so many Wii games that I still love to play, it would be a complete WASTE not to have them available on Wii U. Unless you want 360 owners will have to simply invest more money into it. ... Which I guess is their very blatant plan...
