But yeah, I would also like to see Suda51 games on Switch. I'm super excited for Switch and hope Nintendo finally gets the 3rd party support they've always wanted.
This would be awesome!! I would love to play Eternal Darkness!!
but I feel like I've been hearing this story for years now. Nintendo trademarks it just so they keep the license. And then nothing gets released. (T_T )
oh thank god. I hope this is true. Nothing would make me happier than to be able to play Style Savvy, Zelda, and Dark Souls and Final Fantasy all on one console. Please please please!!!
@MetaRyan At least Cartoon Network still has Steven Universe... and.. . uhm... Teen Titans Go? (o_O ) *sigh I miss coming home from elementary school and watching Toonami with my sister.
@Cantisque lol. I wasn't going to say anything but you made it too easy:
"Fake Anime Style!" Watchoo talkin' about!!?!
btw, just because you don't like it doesn't mean everyone else doesn't. I'm not a fan of the "tumblr" art style but why should that matter when tons of other people enjoy making it and looking at it. (o_O )
I think it was both. It was an under-developed game with a lot of bad design choices.
but Nintendo left it out to dry. They could have stepped in and helped in tons of ways, even if it was just in a supervisory manner (like with Bayonetta 2). But they didn't and it was worse for it because of that.
Also, NoA totally did not care about this game at all. I bet they didn't even want to release it.
@KoopaTheGamer There are plenty of complaints around the internet, they're not that hard to find. Personally, I have no problem with SNES and GBA games. I think they look great, and I love the GBA smoothing option.
But I'm not sure what happened with N64. I have 2, Mario and Ocarina of Time, and they are both extremely washed out, with dull colors and bad contrast. And it's not my tv, because they look fine when I play the games in Wii Mode. So yeah, N64 roms are pretty trashy garbage on the Wii U's VC.
*edit: Also, Wii VC games don't have anti-aliasing (is that what it's called? I'm not sure) to smooth out the jagged edges. They look terrible. Play RE4 on VC and then play RE4 on PS3 to see what could have been. (o_O ) But nope.
oh no!!! What happened to you, Rowlet!? you were so cute, but now you're so ugly. (T_T ) Same with Litten. Popplio went the complete opposite though. I love Primarina, she looks so graceful. Hmmm... can't decide if I should go for Primarina, or get a Rowlet and never evolve him. Of course, I still need to decide if I'm getting Sun or Moon. (o_O )
wow. that's cool. Kind of makes me think of Castlevania Symphony of the Night where you can get over 200% completion rate (I think it's at 214% right now, but I could be wrong) and players are still finding ways to push that a few fractions of a percentage.
@capitalism No one said anything about the PS2 being a secondary console because the PS2 was getting all of the 3rd party support.
btw, I may not have been gaming as long as you have, but I would say I'm pretty hardcore. And the same goes for all of my gaming friends. AND every single one of my gaming friends owns multiple consoles. Only one doesn't but she's pretty much a Master PC gamer. lol. Heck, between my Sister and I, we own almost every single console since the Super Nintendo.
My point being, my experience with consoles is anecdotal and so is yours, but yes, the Wii and Wii U, for most "hardcore" gamers, is generally considered the "second" console.
hmmm... well, I knew it wasn't going to be BC with Wii U (no disc drive, even in the rumors) but I was kind of hoping for 3ds support. Oh well. What I'm really wondering is if we're going to have to buy all of our VC games again or if it will do that thing where if you own it, you can buy the updated version at a huge discount.
Now region-locking is something that I AM curious about.
I bet Phil Spencer is breathing a sigh of relief. It could be that the NSwitch does better than expecting and shifts the focus of console development towards innovation rather than power. Which is probably what Phil Spencer is hoping for because I can't imagine either MS or Sony are happy with trying to fight PC for better specs.
looks great!! and the joy cons are adorable. just waiting to see if it is region locked and if my wii u/ 3ds digital purchases transfer over. If yes to both then definitely day 1 for me. If not, well, depends on the games being released.
hmmm... I want Fairune but I've never been more hesitant to buy a digital game as I am now. I had a pretty good experience transferring my purchases from my PSP to my PS TV, but PS4 still doesn't have PS1 support nor the PS2 games I bought on my PS3.
With Nintendo not saying if our games will transfer over or if there's any backwards compatibility, may it would be better to just hold off on my purchases until the Switch? Hmmmmm...
@samuelvictor lol. I always assumed it was because the monster was the "son" of Frankenstein, and if your dad's last name is Frankenstein then wouldn't your last name also be Frankenstein?
lol. This is pretty funny. Sony probably doesn't care though. If they can get Xbox and Nintendo owners to buy one of their products, then that's a win for them.
Oh, nice!! I really liked the first one. It made me feel nostalgic for an era of games I know almost nothing about. Like, Zelda, for example. I heard so much about it and had read about it before I got to play it. In my mind it was this magical game with a desolate world, lots of mysterious temples, and a princess you had to save. I imagined it a lot like Fairune.
Instead it turned out to be much more harder and well, I'll just say the NES has a lot of limitations. Fairune is the Zelda and Final Fantasy games I always thought they were.
also, while it sucks, everyone who was hoping for a Wii U version should at least get the code for the Steam version. Steam is free and you'll be able to play the game. Not the best solution, but at least it's a solution.
at this point the only thing I care about is if the NX is region free. I've sort of given up on everything else, and if news comes out tomorrow or next year, I don't really care anymore.
@impurekind Yeah, I'm with you. Snes and Nes Castlevania games just frustrate me. But if you like Symphony of the Night I would recommend Aria of Sorrow (also on Wii U) and Order of Eclesia (on DS). I think those 3 are the best Castlevania games out there (and coincidentally, the only ones I've beaten).
Neither. I prefer great gameplay and a good story. If the game can do both with 30 fps and a good artstyle that fits the graphics than I think it will stand the test of time.
I'm sick and tired of seeing PS4 and Xbox try and get into a hardware race with PC. I really hope Nintendo doesn't follow them as well.
I've got a bunch of points but nothing that interests me like Picross did. I think I'm ok with forgetting about it. If Nintendolife has a post about some cool new reward than I'll grind for the points but until then.... (o_O )
I guess I can't complain too much (since I did get Zelda Picross and that's a fun game) but I'm going to complain. Besides a theme and Picross there's been nothing on My Nintendo since that I've found worth spending my points on. Unless I play miitomo, but I don't.
wish there were more themes or dlc content etc. (T_T )
@Ninten-san Last time Nintendolife reported on a fan game (AM2R) there were a ton of readers who got angry and blamed Nintendolife of supporting copyright infringement (among other things).
Nintendolife isn't "afraid" of anything, but I'm sure they don't want to spend the next couple of days having to defend their journalistic interests from armchair lawyers.
so for everyone angry at Nintendolife, Kotaku did it first.
yikes. NES players are some of the most hardcore, masochistic gamers I've ever met. I beat Legend of Zelda, and that game was the most Dark Souls experience I've ever had the misfortune to play.
I almost rage quit tons of times, and I've beat Dark Souls 1-2, Bloodborne, and have a platinum on Demon's Souls. NES games just aren't for me.
wow. this weirds me out. I remember watching the Super Mario Movie at my aunt's when I was little, and then watching some of the Super Mario Power Hour cartoons online.
I always assumed Mario was about 30, Peach was maybe late 20's and Luigi mid-20's. I think I like that better.
@mikegamer thank god, I thought I was the only one. The color issues alone are bad enough. It's frustrating because you can go into Wii mode and play N64 games you've purchased there and everything looks so clean and crisp compared to the Wii U version.
It is a bit annoying, but my expectations are tempered by Nintendo of America. I'm ok with waiting for the NX for as long as they want to wait, but if Nintendo suddenly came out and said that the console will be region free, and that our purchases will be tied to our account and not our console? My anticipation will shoot through the roof, making March seem an eternity away.
But until then, I'm fine and not losing sleep over this.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Switch Game Cards To Boast 16GB "Standard" Capacity
This isn't very big. I know of some modern games who's patches alone are bigger than 16 gigabytes.
That being said though, there are plenty of games I like on the PS4 that are all under 16. So we'll just have to see how companies treat their games.
